Colorado Technical University - Online Reviews

I graduated from my last degree program about 7 years ago. That degree is not worth the paper it's printed on. I have been trying to interview for entry-level accounting positions and no one will give me a chance. CTU said it had employment assistance and it was an education partner with my company, which were lies. NEVER got help in either area. There was a service to critique resumes and mine was just handed back to me saying its fine. No help there. I don't believe employers consider an online degree a valid one. Your best bet would be to go to some sort of technical school, go for a few months or year, apprentice, and be work-ready when you get out. I regret going back to school because all I'm left with this debt that I can't pay because my worthless degree and non-existent hiring potential (from the employer's point of view) leaves me at the same job that barely allows me to make the loan payment. I'm still stuck at a job that I hate and went back to school for nothing. If I sound bitter I am. Nothing in my life has improved for the better. CTU talks about how they can assist you in being successful after graduation but its all b***.
I graduated from CTU in My 2018. Overall I really enjoyed my experience. The school worked with me a lot when I had a family emergency and had to take a session off from my accelerated degree plan. The instructors are mostly pretty educated and really care for you to succeed in general as a student. Most classes werent too difficult, minimum study time. Group projects were a joke though. My entire time here I think I did all group projects alone, but thats probably b just my bad luck. My only issue with the school was miscommunication a few times with financial aid , but that is also why I calculate and monitor my own money when it comes to school. Never hurts to triple check and stay ahead of the next persons mistake. I would recommend the school.
STOP.....STOP......STOP , do not sign up! This school is a fraud! Another Corinthian degree, profit mill. The tuition is all out school state prices, don't be stupid, CTU online wants $325 per unit, and credits are not transferable and the degree is no better than toilet paper! Your local community college is the best opportunity you will have and they also have a online degree program! I was defrauded in 2005 when online schooling was still in the beta phases, I didn't know any better since i did not graduate from high school! They used my name to borrow money for classes that where given in high school. STOP......don't even bother with Colorado Technical University!.....GO to local junior college and or state university and talk to a counselor, trust me don't sign s***!
I am not reviewing the program as much as I am reviewing the financial aid office. The program was informative & I believe it truly helped my career. The financial aid office is another story. They will tell you one amount, break it down into payments over the course of your education (whether you take out loans or make personal payments) and then add on extra money at the end. They tell you nicely that you can make $50 dollar payments if needed over however many years. That is not the point! False advertisement when expressing the price of the programs. Very unprofessional.
My time at Colorado Technical University was great. I enjoyed the online classroom instruction weekly and the individuals that I have met from various locations throughout this country. My graduation in June 2011 was a real highlight and I really felt great in receiving my Masters of Science Degree (MSM) in Management in Criminal Justice (Although they do not give out this degree anymore). I have seen some who have said that they had a bad experience at this university, but I would tell them that maybe this was not a good fit for them. I am now working on a Doctorate in Public Administration in another Online University, but my time at Colorado Tech has not been disappointing at all.
i really do love this school. just because you can work at any pace before your deadline. its pretty simply if you can keep working on your studies . if your a busy person just by completing 20 mins a day help . it does say study at least 3hours a day . that doesnt matter if your completing everything you need to be done. very great school . so far i have been almost a month and its great. i really do hope it continues that way i graduate around 2021. hopefully sooner would be nice
I finally got to a point in my life last February 2017 where I was ready to start and complete a Masters program. I had previously started one then quit because I wasn't focused enough nor following the right path in life. I decided to take the leap one last time and now I am one class out from finishing this program. Even though it is fast paced, it's worth it. Typically your average Grad program is 2 years at minimum , I was able to finish within a year and a half nearly. The student advisors were helpful and checked in if either you may not post often or are not doing too well in your course. The tuition and financial aid situation was clearly explained and also was simple. I think a lot of those that complain about this school are those that either only started for a FA check or are not motivated enough to be an adult and do the work that it takes to succeed. I would have never thought I would say I am a class away from having my Masters, but I can now! Thank you CTU!!!
All of the negative reviews here are hilarious. They are complaining about how things clearly published in the schools website (without even being logged in) caught them off guard and they didn't know about it. You sign an agreement outlining the tuition costs, it is common knowledge what the add/drop deadlines are, nobody is going to hand-hold you through being an adult. With regard to academic advisors changing, does it really matter? You only ever need to talk to them when starting or ending a program, or if you are doing something unusual like dropping, un-enrolling, or overloading your schedule. When you get into the higher programs they will remain more consistent. My academic advisor for the masters and doctoral program has remained the same person for 18 months, and now that I am starting the doctors; program we have weekly calls at the same time just to check in. It is as simple as this: You get out of it what you put into it. This isn't the matrix where you can just have it uploaded into you. It isn't free lunch where you shouldn't expect a bill. And instructors will seem arrogant and condescending only if you're being a ridiculous arrogant and condescending child yourself. Grow up. Life is work. Work hard and push yourself to improve your own life. You are paying for access to an instructor and an opportunity to learn from formal content and to prove your abilities, not so someone can be your servant and hand you an A and a promotion at work. Sorry, my entire review so far ended up being a rant about the ridiculous children posting negative reviews because they don't understand academics, responsibilities, or adulthood. Anyway, this school has been fantastic! I have been learning so much and it has truly helped my career. The instructors have been fantastic in my experience, and my favorite activity was leading group projects, especially during the CapSim.
I had tried on and off for 20 years to get a college degree, I struggled mightily when it came to brick and mortar schools. Online was just the right medium for me and allowed me to complete my BS, and now I am looking forward to starting my Masters.
I don't understand why this school have so many negative reviews i had a great experience attend CTU i am currently enrolled in my Bachelor degree program which i will have December 2018 thanks to me putting fast track to use i really love everything about CTU and i have learned so much that is helping me with promotion in my career filed. I think this what made me write this positive comment because of so many negative one's i wanted someone to view my post and see the good at CTU. I am also going for my Masters degree as well if you are a busy mother wife and worker like i am this is a great life changing school in my opinion
