I had been looking into Master's online programs for several years. I chose Concordia University because they were so helpful with enrolling and figuring out how to afford the program. I am half way through my year long program. I am loving the experience. Most of my professors have been knowledgeable, rigorous, and supportive. I have learned so much that has and will make me a better prepared teacher, that will be well educated and informed to better help my students be successful. The whole process... Read More

Concordia surfaced in my world at a time that it was so needed. My life and education career was so chaotic and I had no idea what direction to head in due to frustration. After chatting with Cavalier representatives and advisors I decided that a graduate degree might be a worthy asset in future decisions. I completed the program with a very high GPA after lots of hard work and mega help from the wonderful instructors (some easy-peazy and some difficult ones). It was a great decision! My Cavalier... I recently completed the 1 year master's degree program at Concordia. Overall, I was pleased with my experience. The professors were very helpful, graded assignments quickly, gave feedback and seemed to care about my success. It was a little hard to get help outside of the classroom. Sometimes questions were not answered by the student rep that was assigned to me for each class. However, I did get answers by sending multiple e-mails and to different departments/people. The best part of the program... Read More

Concordia cares more about getting you enrolled than keeping you. The communication is awful and can take weeks to get a response from financial aid or any other dept. Once they have received their money they are in no hurry to assist. I did not finish due to the lack of help I received and feel that while the expectations were reasonable, the school does not care about their online students.

The drawback to this program is that it is quite expensive, but it is totally worth it. Each semester you have a service placement in your field of interest and two of the four semesters are abroad. Great hands on experience in your field before even graduating. Small cohorts and a beautiful area.

I enjoyed Concordia University. I felt that most of the professors were very helpful, courteous and caring. While the curriculum was engaging, the expense was exorbitant and the financial aid department was not helpful and did not grant promised scholarships.

I am one from the large group of teachers who arrive in America holding a Bachelor's degree. Mine was in English Education. As I tried in different schools I noticed I was not ready to cope with school and students demands. There was a gap that I had to fill in order to start a route of personal and professional gains and satisfactions. I realized that to serve my students better, I had to go a step forward in my preparation. Concordia University (Portland) has been a great fit for me in my intention... Read More
