"I'm ashamed to say that I'm a graduate of DeVry. I attended DeVry 1988 thru 1991 when the school was called DeVry Institute of Technology in Industry CA. The education was not adequate to get a job in my field of study. I graduated with a BS degree in Telecommunications Management & I'm not working in that field. After about a year of sending resumes & going to interviews I finally got a job in a computer chip fabrication company for what was close to minimum wage at the time. Sad to say it was the only job at the time where I did not mention DeVry. I'm at a better job now with the State, & I have not mentioned DeVry as my college. I feel that had I gone to a real college, my earnings would have been better right from the start of my job search. I attended DeVry because I had no where else to go or do. I was out of high school for a year & was working as a clerk at a grocery store. DeVry was a quick way to get out of being a clerk because I believed all the lies about the quality education & high percentage of job placements after graduation. My first interview after graduation was a real eye opener for me because that is when I realized that I did not have enough education to be hired for a job in the telecommunications field. The job that I have now is no thanks to DeVry. When asked about where I went to college, I'll say some other school. I got good grades but is was all for not because in the interviews in the field of telecommunications I felt very inadequate & stupid because I was not able to answer questions that I could have an answered had I gone to a real college. I did not mention my disappointment to my parents because I did not want to make them feel as ashamed as I did. I can say that I hate DeVry, but I can also say that I should have done my research before deciding to go to DeVry. I've learned to put my DeVry experience behind me to where I don't get upset anymore. I made many good friends while at DeVry. I'll just say that DeVry is a fraud, their job placement dept. is joke, & I will never recommend this place to anyone."

"I competed my bachelors degree on time, 3 years. I was working 5 days a week 50 hours a week Monday through Friday, so the flexibility was key for me. The job I had was not in my field of study and Devry gave me the fundamentals I need to get my foot in the door. I accepted a job at Nortel Networks as a Systems Engineer a week before I graduated making about $30,000 a year more than I was making in my previous job. After 7 years at Nortel I accepted a position at Cisco Systems as a Sr. Systems Engineer for 8 years. I am now a Systems Engineering Manage at a technology start up. Sense graduating from Devery I have increased my income 5x and in my current job I travel all over the world working with the largest Service Providers in every country. It takes a lot of hard work and a high GPA is a must to get a good job if you are just starting out in your field of study. If you think you're going to buy your degree from Devry and breeze through class you are sadly mistaken. I have worked with serveral people in my career that are Devry grads that have a story similar to mine. If you are not a 100% dedicated to completing your degree you need to rethink going to any school. Once you commit to student loans you will never make the money you need to pay it back without that Degree."

"The most valuable insight I have gained from my college experience is the realization that the quality of education attained is entirely dependent upon the level of individual effort put forth. The majority of my career-essential knowledge has been attained exclusively through on-the-job training;however, it was through my experiences in college that I learned that self-expectations set to a high standard provides a personal pattern for success and makes a person their own engine for the change in their life."

"I had a good experience with my DeVry education. The level of difficulty was relatively low, but I believe that you get what you put into this school. I graduated with a high GPA and was able to get an entry level job (also had military experience with degree). After getting a little work experience I was accepted into a Master Program at Penn State University. I think that many people have a negative perception of Devry, but it can definitely be used as a platform to other opportunists. The degree will not open all doors, but it can help you get interviews that you might not otherwise get. I was also in the military and got the discounted rate. If I did not have the discounted rate i'm not sure if I would have paid full tuition to go here, but in my situation it worked out."

"I attended this college for 18 months and from the beginning I did not encounter any problems. The admissions, college and financial advisors were very helpful and made my stay at DeVry rewarding. I had an Environmental Science class and I wondered what this class had to do with my college career. Well, I got my answer when I took a statistics class. I was glad I took the Environmental Science class first. If not I would have been lost in the statistics class. The student support services gave me much support during my time with DeVry. I was invited to be a Student Support Advisor during my senior year and it was my pleasure giving other students advice. All of the professors were knowledgable and helpful. One thing I know about this school and I advised other students to never turn in an assignment late without an excuse such as a doctor's statement. All of my professors were very understanding. If a student missed an important deadline, the professors will not lower their grade; they only asked for verification. There is a lot of reading, studying and projects to do. You have to stay focused and disciplined. If you plan to make excuses and not take your education seriously, then DO NOT ENROLL at DeVry because you will waste your money. I am working with career services and they are helping me with my resume. Although I am a mother, and full-time employee, I graduated Summa Cum Laude because I was focus and very disciplined I worked very hard in the last 18 months and I know it will pay off. I posted my resume online and I received several invitations to apply with different companies.Thank You DeVry University!!!"
