This is in response to Mike's review from 3/4/2016. I also obtained this useless degree with over $20,000 in student loan debt. To my knowledge, this degree in 12 months was only offered from 2000 to 2001 (maybe 2002). I believe the first program was offered in the greater Chicago area (main campus for DeVry). My experience was exactly the same as yours. I received no help while in school as far as job placement and was even turned away when I walked into the 'career services' office. Upon graduation... Starting out at DeVry was a smooth transition. From applying getting the documents required, to day one of class. Yes, I had to take out loans and had help with grants, but the overall experience was outstanding. Even the transition from CA campus to CO campus was smooth. Regarding the classes them self. You have to work for the grade you want. It is a fast pace education, as it is only 8 weeks vs your normal 16 weeks. It is very easy to fail a class if your mind is not focused. I myself experienced... Read More

I attended back in Fall 2013 and finished in August 2016. DeVry University taught me that evil exists in this world and they prey on the weak and vulnerable. DeVry university is the evil scam that ruined my life mentally and financially. I see a psychiatrist thanks to DeVry University evil ways. I took classes that were mostly copy and paste from google search since, they use past years curriculum without ever changing it every year like normal schools would. They over price their short 8 week classes,... Read More

The class last about 2 months and we were graded on discussion posts which is like YouTube commenting or blog/news article commenting. The instructors and other students lived in faraway states which affected communication awkwardness and our instructors were very hard to reach for questions or concerns. The education was practically outdated information and outdated programming software from 2010 and 2013 software while taking classes in 2014-2017 and paying tuition 2500 dollars bi weekly plus extra... I wouldn't waste your time or money. The curriculum is out-of-date, most classes need to be taken online. Most of the tests, exams and homework can easily be Googled. Did I mention that the curriculum is out-of-date. It's just an expensive degree that holds little value to most employers. Please don't waste your time or money.

Online classes at DeVry are so much better than what I have experienced at other institutions. The interface of the classroom is more user-friendly than at other schools. The teachers are attentive, knowledgeable, supportive, very present and interested in seeing you succeed in the course. Course materials are also great. Live feeds or recordings of weekly lectures are available in addition to other videos DeVry has made available that can be incorporated into your online learning experience. Online... Read More

Do not go to this school. They are scam artist. They are holding my transcript because I owe them money for a class that THEY withdrew me from without my knowledge. They also threatened to ruin my credit because of this. I will be able to get my transcript next year once this bill is paid. I told them that they are stopping my education but they told me to pay more each month so I can get my transcript quicker. I am one of the people now that will never finish college because of them; Cant afford... Read More

This university is tremendously horrible. I wouldn't even send my cat here honestly. The support from staff and professors is virtually non existent. The tuition fees are out of this world expensive. I was paying for nothing but air. If you value yourself please don't attend this university.

I attended DeVry 2001-2002, the year they became accredited as a university (Institute of Technology to University). They offered a one year B.S degree in IT for students who already had obtained a bachelors degree of any major. I graduated and earned a B.S in Information Technology, but the program included no professional certifications and the courses did not train for what employers were looking for. This was their biggest selling point on this program. While I was still in the program, the career... Read More

Its an OK college. They give a lot of generalized education in your degree, not enough specifics unless you get a masters. They help you find a job if you stay in the colleges region, but no help if you leave.

I'm ashamed to say that I'm a graduate of DeVry. I attended DeVry 1988 thru 1991 when the school was called DeVry Institute of Technology in Industry CA. The education was not adequate to get a job in my field of study. I graduated with a BS degree in Telecommunications Management & I'm not working in that field. After about a year of sending resumes & going to interviews I finally got a job in a computer chip fabrication company for what was close to minimum wage at the time. Sad to say it was the... I competed my bachelors degree on time, 3 years. I was working 5 days a week 50 hours a week Monday through Friday, so the flexibility was key for me. The job I had was not in my field of study and Devry gave me the fundamentals I need to get my foot in the door. I accepted a job at Nortel Networks as a Systems Engineer a week before I graduated making about $30,000 a year more than I was making in my previous job. After 7 years at Nortel I accepted a position at Cisco Systems as a Sr. Systems Engineer... Read More

The most valuable insight I have gained from my college experience is the realization that the quality of education attained is entirely dependent upon the level of individual effort put forth. The majority of my career-essential knowledge has been attained exclusively through on-the-job training;however, it was through my experiences in college that I learned that self-expectations set to a high standard provides a personal pattern for success and makes a person their own engine for the change in... I had a good experience with my DeVry education. The level of difficulty was relatively low, but I believe that you get what you put into this school. I graduated with a high GPA and was able to get an entry level job (also had military experience with degree). After getting a little work experience I was accepted into a Master Program at Penn State University. I think that many people have a negative perception of Devry, but it can definitely be used as a platform to other opportunists. The degree... Read More

I attended this college for 18 months and from the beginning I did not encounter any problems. The admissions, college and financial advisors were very helpful and made my stay at DeVry rewarding. I had an Environmental Science class and I wondered what this class had to do with my college career. Well, I got my answer when I took a statistics class. I was glad I took the Environmental Science class first. If not I would have been lost in the statistics class. The student support services gave me... Read More

There is a lot of reading, studying and projects to do. You have to stay focused and disciplined. If you plan to make excuses and not take your education seriously, then DO NOT ENROLL at DeVry because you will waste your money. I am working with career services and they are helping me with my resume. Although I am a mother, and full-time employee, I graduated Summa Cum Laude because I was focus and very disciplined I worked very hard in the last 18 months and I know it will pay off. I posted my resume online and I received several invitations to apply with different companies.

Thank You DeVry University!!!
