DeVry University Reviews

They do a great job at one thing, selling the program. Teachers are so-so. You start out taking general education classes just like any other school. The biggest complaint is the money charged and lack of jobs. At the time we enrolled in Devry we didn't realize that employers hate this school and are less likely to offer a job to a Devry student compared with another comparable candidate. The school is not worth the tuition amount and I would recommend another school. Ideally, start with a Community/Junior college with the general ed classes and transfer to a university to focus on your area of study.
I attended DeVry University mostly online and some at Addison IL campus from 2013-2016. I majored in Computer Information Systems Bachelor of Science degree. This is the WORST $100,000 plus 6-12 Percent Interest decision of my life. Where do I begin, DeVry university is a FOR PROFIT FAKE school. The education is outdated and downright poor quality. Their advisors are like playing the lottery. They are random each time you call them. You will go through with millions of different financial, academic, and career advisors, that don't care about your questions, inquires, or concerns of your future. The instructors are similar to the advisors which are inexperienced or learning as we taking the course and pass anyone for turning something in the course shell drop box. In eight weeks you practically learn nothing and waste thousands of dollars on nothing. Your degree is worthless and will not lead to a good career. These type of schools are constantly facing Department of Education/Federal Trade Commission investigation and countless of lawsuits from previous students that attended here. If you want to invest your time into this mess, you really don't value your life or your future. My degree is worthless, IT field frowns and jokes about my degree. They avoid looking at my education at DeVry and skip straight to my work experiences/certifications. Everything can be taught online for cheaper price and even free than attending at DeVry. GO TO A REAL SCHOOL like community college/state/private non-profit school. Not this Diploma mill SCAM... For profit scam schools... OR YOU END UP A VICTIM LIKE ME..........
Derry covers all the same study areas as standard BS universities. The difference is greater practical application verses theoretical study. I finished my BSEET with a 3.85 leading me to a 33 year career with Intel Corp. My experiences during my career are numerous and i wouldn't trade them for anything. While at Intel I worked in manufacturing, product development and 14 years in research with Intel Labs. I'm now retired and my career with Intel has been a great experience. I'm grateful for my education from DeVry.
Devry University makes it seems likes thus is the best ever upon enrollment. Some of the instructors or awesome and some are lazy and awful. The staff is not on one accord and they lie often. Student were told that once we graduated that the school.would pay for an exam and once we graduated they changed their minds. Believe when I say that they are not honest.
I have loved my experience at DeVry. The Professors are unique and offer multitudes of resources to learn with. Weekly video lectures, assignments that push you to learn, and evolve. I am 100% online as this is perfect for me, my schedule as a mom, and employee. I have felt that the academic advisers take the time to really invest in your path and what career goals you have after graduation.
I attended DeVry from September 2009 thru October 2012 studying Business Management and Human Resources Management. I enjoyed attending the classes onsite, but had to take several online courses in 2011 and 2012 because the onsite classes weren't available. I graduated Suma Cum Laude because I studied very hard, and read everything in the textbooks and associated online information. I prefer the onsite classes because of the knowledge gleamed from discussions with other students and professors. I must say, I did have to take extra classes after I had enrolled at DeVry, because, suddenly, new requirements were added to my chosen programs. I had over $61,000 in student loans -- which forced me to take out a 2nd on my house. It is now 2016, and I still have not been able to secure a permanent position. Now that I have read some of these online reviews, I have learned that some employers do not recognize DeVry as an accredited university. I am very disappointed that I spent so much money on my education, and have not enhanced my career (which is kind of in limbo since I can only find short-term temp work). I would recommend DeVry based on my onsite learning experience; but, I will advise the student to find out if their employer will accept a DeVry education; and for the student to stay on top of their loan balance and how it is paid.
This school started off good, until they started to change everything over summer. The classes now consist of teachers just handing out homework without explaining the work. They don't even bother to show the students how to do the work anymore. I have spent my time watching youtube and search the web to try to understand the work. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY FOR THIS SCHOOL!
From the moment I called to check out DeVry I was swept up in a sea of commitment to get me going in the program. The customer service reps are friendly and courteous. DeVry offers so many tools for students, both during their college experience and as they move out into the workforce. I love being able to complete my school work on my schedule and have had no problem with connectivity or streaming video online. I would recommend DeVry online to anyone working full time while going to school!
DeVry has good infrastructure and teachers to guide students interested in the technological field.
I loved DeVry! It gave me the flexibility I needed to go to school online and work at the same time. Everyone was easy to contact and it wasn't stressful being online.
