Student & Graduate Reviews (281)
In 2000, after graduation, I had my dreams of going to school. I did well the first term, but the second one not so well. I was stressing my self out and having problems. So, I decided to just drop out. After 13 years of thinking that I was a failure in life, I decided to go back to school. Within 3 months, I was accepted and starting here at Devry. Right now I am a sophomore and I can't wait to graduate. The reasons I want to finish school is to show my self I can handle anything new and challenging. For my family, to show them I am determined to do it and the other reason to bring my dream to life.
I feel very fortunate to have found DeVry Online because this is the only way I am able to go back to school. At the time when I joined, I had no transportation and no money to buy transportation. Plus I have poor credit since I was laid off from my last professional job in 2007, the heart of the recession. DeVry Online is helping my gaining the technical knowledge and skills that I need to achieve a bachelor's degree in a very competitive world. The classes are challenging and the programs are up-to-date with teaching skills needed in today's Knowledge Revolution. I know the skills and knowledge I gain at DeVry will help my gaining a professional career in data analytics. Indirectly, DeVry is helping me recoup from the recession and build my life again. Thank you DeVry Online!
Devry University, staff member has encourage me to succeed and they let me know that they are here to help me if I need it. My class are online and the professor work with you and they do what they can to help you understand the subject. Its a wonderful place to get your degree.
DeVry offers small classes that allows for a closer experience with the instructor and fellow students for a more personal enviroment in the class room. Taking night classes helps with Instructors that have real world experiences and bring an example that is easy to understand.
I am very confortable attending DeVry University, with the courses I have been taking, my learning experience has been great. The quality of professors is excellent. I recommend DeVry University because it will help any student to have a better future.
I have applied and been accepted to several colleges before coming to DeVry University. After meeting with the advisors and professors, I knew this was the school for me. They weren't kidding when they said they would be with you throughout the entire process. To date, I am having an amazing and unique experience I know I wouldn't have gotten anywhere else. I would recommend DeVry University to anyone looking to further their education.
This is a great institution for those that are looking for advancement in the workforce. They provide superior assistance in completing their program than a "traditional" university. In addition, for those of us that work, the accessibility is second to none. Nevertheless, no matter your future decision, make sure that you manage your DOE credit line, MGIB, and/or your personal finances properly.
This has been nothing but amazing--DeVry staff have supported me throughout my entire experience. Any time I have stumbled they have been right there to pick me up, Heading into my sophomore year now, and still going strong!! <3 Especially if you are a non-traditional student, you want to enroll at DeVry. The way that the courses are set up allows you to carry on a full life as well as attend and excel in your studies. I feel that the quality of the work that we do is top notch. It's challenging and rewarding -- don't pass DeVry over!
I'm ashamed to say that I'm a graduate of DeVry. I attended DeVry 1988 thru 1991 when the school was called DeVry Institute of Technology in Industry CA. The education was not adequate to get a job in my field of study. I graduated with a BS degree in Telecommunications Management & I'm not working in that field. After about a year of sending resumes & going to interviews I finally got a job in a computer chip fabrication company for what was close to minimum wage at the time. Sad to say it was the only job at the time where I did not mention DeVry. I'm at a better job now with the State, & I have not mentioned DeVry as my college. I feel that had I gone to a real college, my earnings would have been better right from the start of my job search. I attended DeVry because I had no where else to go or do. I was out of high school for a year & was working as a clerk at a grocery store. DeVry was a quick way to get out of being a clerk because I believed all the lies about the quality education & high percentage of job placements after graduation. My first interview after graduation was a real eye opener for me because that is when I realized that I did not have enough education to be hired for a job in the telecommunications field. The job that I have now is no thanks to DeVry. When asked about where I went to college, I'll say some other school. I got good grades but is was all for not because in the interviews in the field of telecommunications I felt very inadequate & stupid because I was not able to answer questions that I could have an answered had I gone to a real college. I did not mention my disappointment to my parents because I did not want to make them feel as ashamed as I did. I can say that I hate DeVry, but I can also say that I should have done my research before deciding to go to DeVry. I've learned to put my DeVry experience behind me to where I don't get upset anymore. I made many good friends while at DeVry. I'll just say that DeVry is a fraud, their job placement dept. is joke, & I will never recommend this place to anyone.
I have not had a major problem with finances, but in terms of an education, I feel that I am more intelligent than more than 50% of the professors. Most have outdated teaching styles, are lazy, and use words to make you feel inferior. In reality, the past 5 out of 10 classes I have been forced to use the internet to teach myself. I sit through the lectures, participate in group activities, but the book and assignments are error ridden and teach you a very small amount. It is better to not even go to class and teach yourself using the internet and YouTube. I was drawn in because my first 5 professors were outstanding, and I learned a phenomenal amount. However, there is a very few selection of professors in your area and by the time you get to the meat and potatoes of your degree you are stuck with crap filled professors. Those with huge egos and who produce disgustingly, poor results. I wish I had known this before I had spent thousands of dollars in classes that can't be transferred. My advice: GO TO A SCHOOL THAT IS ACCREDITED. This school has burnt out professors who you will wish you could fire yourself. Never, ever, have I been more angry at people in my entire life. I have so much hate and anger towards my past professors because I feel that my money has been wasted. If I am going to teach myself it should be for free and I shouldn't have to pay. Screw DeVry University and their egotistic, demeaning, and overall horrendous teaching staff.
