Terrible education no one likes when I inform them I went o devry , it cost me 75000 still cant come lose to make enough to start paying back , lots of people online review will a ay same thing credits dont transfer huge dissapointment . No more money for any more student loans devry took it all so I cant get any other degrees. It will take over 400 a month for 15.5 years to pay back this student loan .. ridiculous STAY AWAY FROM DEVRY UNIVERSITY , THEY ARE TAKING HUGE MONEY FROM GOVT IN YOUR NAME AND .. GOVT HOLDS YOU ACCOUNTABLE TO PAY IT BACK!! This will wreck your life .. WHAT A SCAM. THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL.
Its an OK college. They give a lot of generalized education in your degree, not enough specifics unless you get a masters. They help you find a job if you stay in the colleges region, but no help if you leave.
The foundation of the program was ok at best, as the direction of where the faculty were driving the students to get jobs in the field were inadequate. They were teaching basics for a biomedical technician level, but were marketing it as if you were going to design biomedical equipment which was not the case.
I began my journey with DeVry University in 2010. I am a student with special needs and the university acknowledged it and worked with me for closely to make sure that my academic needs were being met. Special accommodations were made as far as tutoring and extra time to finish my assignments etc. For the most part I didn't need the services, but it was comforting knowing that I had the same opportunities to complete my course work and graduate irregardless of my challenges. I recently graduated(June 28th, 2015) with my bachelors in Technical Business and will be pursing a masters in Business Administration with Keller Graduate School. I owe a lot to all who helped me from my academic adviser to the ladies sitting at the front desk in financial aid.
I enjoyed the schedule at this school. 3 semesters a year, classes are 8 weeks long. The only downside to attending a satellite location is that you end up taking a few courses online, since you must have at least 8 students to have a class in-house. The teachers are excellent. The class content is relevant and I was able to start up a job right out of college.
I took the Game & Simulation Programming program from DeVry and at the time it was in it's infancy. I think they were trying to iron out all of the details and gather industry connections to properly define and structure the program. So because of the timing I didn't think it was a great experience for the money. With that being said I was involved in a lot of meeting with the University to provide feedback and constructive criticism so I know they were trying to make it a success. So unless that effort fell short the program probably looks much different today then it did when I was there.
I am a 45 year old who has recently made a big decision to go to school. I think that if someone wants to take the time to do this then DeVry is the school for you. They have made it very easy to know what you need to do, how you are going to pay for it, what your bills will be at the end of the journey, and they are here to help you suceed to do what you are capabile of doing. I am glad that I took the time to pursue this journey with them. I recommend that each student take COLL148 before any other class. this class helped me to see what my full potential is and it helped me to discover that I am capabile of going back after so many years of being out of school. I look forward to the rest of my journey and am inspired by the staff and students that currently I have interaction with. This was my review after taking just two courses. Since then I have taken many and still feel the same. DeVry is well worth the effort and money. They have wonderful professors, administration, fellow students, and a staff of individuals that are very knowledgable in their areas of work. DeVry staff help you see what you are capable of doing and are there when you need them to answer a question or solve a problem. They are all well worth every penny that I am spending on my adventure to get a degree that I want.
I am a single mother of three beautiful children who works full time and attends college full time. DeVry's evening classes enable me to still work and attend class, in which my employer aids in letting me out in time for class on specified days. However, the flexibility of scheduling classes, the helpful faculty that wants nothing but your success is inspiring! The professors have actually worked in the field they teach and have real life examples that correlate with what we are learning. I am so very happy I chose DeVry in continuing my education.
I've been putting off going back to school for a few years. I was afraid of change and that the classes would be overwhelming. When I first walked in to DeVry I still wasn't sure about going back to school, but after meeting with a career and financial adviser I was more than willing to give it a try. Boy was I glad I did. I have only recently began my classes, but the professors are more than willing to answer any questions and go into as much detail about the subject as they can. The online courses are pretty efficient and just as detailed as an in class setting would be. I haven't been this excited about school ever, but with the major opportunities and all the support I know I can do it and succeed beyond here.
This school is not worth your time or money. There has been several times while in class I have heard people joke that they did not answer the questions on the assignment, however, they still got full credit. One of my continuous issues was trying to get intouch with my advising team. It took them a whole week to get back to me. The teachers do not necessarily grade your work on quality, it is if you turned it in. All Washington campus's are closing. After receiving the call from young gal at the office to make a decision on whether, I intended to become a full online student(I was a half campus/online student), or transfer to another institution. They claimed they would help with the process to attend another college. I choose to go to another college. It was nearly impossible to get a hold of some one at the local campus. They were all getting laid off! Word to the wise, this institution is not looked upon highly by employers. I wasted a year of my life, and hundreds of dollars. Attend this school with caution.
