Let me say first I am still attending. I am a little more than 2 weeks out from completing the program and my GPA has been 3.7 or higher the entire time. Having said that: much of my learning has come from online research and 3rd party websites (unrelated to DeVry) such as course hero and Quizlet. I have not found much help or actual resources within the course. It is mainly self taught courses. The live Lessons aren't usually very helpful either. Its usually an hour of rambling and repeating what... Read More

I found the classes prepared me not only for certification but for the real world jobs. I am currently a HIM technician for a company that works with Veterans. I felt well prepared for my roll because of what I learned at Devry! The professors and other students were great. I found it flexible to fit my life.

In 1970, taking electronics class in high school, a DeVry rep came to the school to talk to the students about careers in this field. He talked to my parents and we agreed to a technician program. I must say, while never getting rich, I certainly was happy in my endeavors after schooling at DeVry. I've held many positions at several companies, but must attribute my success to the instructors at the Phoenix campus, Mr Rossi, Mr Swan, and Mr Willard. We went big on vacuum tubes, Fortran, and card punch.... Read More

I'm 45 and this is my forth time returning to college to further my education. This is the worst experience I've ever had. Huge waste of my time and money. The instructors do not work with you they work against you. The most stressful and costly experience ever with a college.

DeVry University is an amazing University. I love this place and would recommend it to family and friends. Because of my educational achievements here at DeVry, I have experienced professional growth. The professors are amazing and experts in their fields. The students are engaged in learning and the learning environment encourages collaboration across the board.

At first when I started here everything seemed ok. I been here for about 6 to 8 months. The program cost is very expensive compared to SNHU and other schools. Doing powerpoints I dont mind but I have to go through outlook to use it which is annoying. the instructions and lessons in the class videos I can not even understand them because of the heavy dialect. the discussion boards do not make sense half the time. I know my way around powerpoint but going through outlook to use the powerpoint is annoying.... Read More

I love attending DeVry University. They are very flexible with my work schedule and anytime I call with a question or seeking help their always there for assistance. I decided to go back to school in September 2022 when I was 29 and I'm glad I did! Don't get discouraged and think that you can't accomplish your goals because you can! and DeVry University is an excellent school for this!

A lot of these reviews is not something I can relate to. I am currently enrolled in Devry and taking the certification classes for medical billing and coding. I have only a few months left, so I have been through the most of the courses already. At the very beginning, I was assigned a "Student Support Advisor" and he has been my only advisor since day 1. I have seen some reviews saying they change your advisor every few months but that has not been the case for me. My advisor emails and calls me... Read More

It was all good until you run out of financial Aide. They throw you under the bus. I only have one class left to take to graduate with Bachelors degree in Business Management. Failed a couple of classes. Had to retake. Financial Aide ran out. No help!

So. Figured I put my 2 cents in. Graduated in 2011. 100k debt and climbing (about +600$ every 3 months - beyond loan repayment has been on hold since covid). I see no light ahead on how to manage this debt as I still don't make enough. ... and yes I am very dedicated. What a waste of time & money. I was stuck in a warehouse for years after graduating. It is 2023 and still not in the field I graduated in. Note: I was apart of that huge law suit for being provided the false promise of getting aligned... Read More

Don’t go here! When asking for help the teacher got rude and told me to figure it out along with other nasty messages. It was my second class. The assistant dean agrees with the teacher saying she did nothing wrong and instead blames me. Gross to say the least! There was no repercussion on how she spoke to me and refused to help me. I changed schools!

Hi, I’m currently pursing my Business Essentials Certificate at DeVry University in Naperville, IL and today I just received notice that I’m on the Dean’s List for Fall 2022. I really am grateful for how encouraging my professors have been and they really want to help you you achieve your highest and best. What motivates me is for the girls or boys who have been told “oh you’ll never do that” or don’t have that much of a support system, I’m very very grateful for the support system I have my advice... I was excited to attend Devry. However Devry uses outdated materials like 5years old and in tech that’s huge. I’ve been in school over 1.5 years and have no option for an assortment degree. Though I have learned some I do not feel prepared for the work industry that I should be entering with a certificate in 5 months. They make you believe a certificate is good enough however all the jobs I looked at are requiring a degree. Very disappointed in Devry.

I enrolled because the online programs were at your own pace and that is not true. I work 13 hour days 4 days a week and the weekend and Mondays are the only days I can catch up on my schoolwork. I was dropped from a class because I didn’t “participate enough”. I work a full time from 6:30 am to 8:00 pm and it is hard.

My advisor is inadequate and incompetent to guide me through the educational situation, I have not spoken or heard from that guy so I just refuse to contact him. whom ever he is surely is not tracking my education and should be the first to compliment and give supporting advice on staying on Deans list because of him I believe I waisted a lot of my time with this school doing subjects I have done already and regret being present for this journey. Using devry had been a wonderful learning experience. There obligation to there students is held as top priority. The learning process is projected around the way your mind learns. And every teacher reached out to help study, or rather you need extra tim they'll take the time out to reach out and make sure you understand the subject

I came to Devry only because I was granted a scholarship and I had a military discount which was supposed to make my tuition free. I started the semester and was told to wait for my scholarship to clear in my account because it takes time. Fast forward to the end of the semester and I have a $1300 bill from them. I call them AGAIN and they tell me I was denied the scholarship because I am military affiliated. They never sent me a notice, never called me, never made any attempt to communicate with... This is in response to Mike's review from 3/4/2016. I also obtained this useless degree with over $20,000 in student loan debt. To my knowledge, this degree in 12 months was only offered from 2000 to 2001 (maybe 2002). I believe the first program was offered in the greater Chicago area (main campus for DeVry). My experience was exactly the same as yours. I received no help while in school as far as job placement and was even turned away when I walked into the 'career services' office. Upon graduation... DeVry University has challenged me to excel in the class. My success depends on how much effort I put into my studies; I am consistent with my study habit. Our professors are mostly experts in the field and very knowledgeable, but not only that, they are helpful. DeVry has given me the chance to enjoy learning and apply it in the real world. I will finally receive my diploma and am in the process of applying for their MSA. Thank you, DeVry University!

Bad school. Horrible help. Would not recommend any one to pursue their education here… no way to improve the post graduation services. All around horrible experience. Even worse while attending the university. Please choose somewhere else to graduate. Not at DeVry you’ll regret it like I do.
