"Went to this school to network with the professors, and each professor had little to no connections. I ended up joining a police force and rejoining the national guard. This school is has weak connections at best for income. This is a party school."

  • Degree: Early Childhood Education
"I obtained my Bachelor's degree at East Stroudsburg University in Early Childhood and Special Education. I felt that this program was an amazing fit for me. My professors were always supportive, pushing me to do better, and educating me to the best of their ability. This program exposed me to many different classrooms and I was able to gain a lot of experience and knowledge. It opened my eyes to classrooms I would love to work in and to classrooms that were maybe not the best fit for me. This program pushed me outside of my comfort zone and I am so appreciative for that. The program prepared me to sit and pass the PECT exams and prepared for my career. I am now on my second year of teaching and I am so thankful for the degree I gained from East Stroudsburg University."

"The social work program at East Stroudsburg University was structured very well. I took a lot away from my courses and gained a deeper understanding of social work in general. The professors took the time to engage with students. I liked how the class size was small yet I felt my horizon was broadened overall."

"Negligent, criminal, fraudulent University with unethical staff and administrators. This University has failed to report my degree on more than one occasion and refuses to take responsibility for it; despite having a degree verification sent from them to an employer in 2012 when the first failure was addressed and fixed, and they still failed to report it to PASHEE. Now, 9 years later they are holding my transcripts hostage stating I owe thousands of dollars and never once was notified. Everytime someone emails me back is it with inaccurate information (i.e. was sent a screenshot of classes I took in Fall 2009 and they insisted it was the classes I took in Summer 2009 etc. etc.) Do not go here, I am not the first person they have done this too and I will not be the last."

"The sport management program was outstanding. I am now furthering my education and receiving my masters here on ESU campus. The program helped me understand More about my career in sport marketing and on the business side of sports. I am prepared for the next chapter in my life."

  • Degree: Exercise Science
"The Exercise Science department at East Stroudsburg University has provided me with life long mentors that have taught me how to be successful in not only my career but life. I would highly recommend this program to future students interested in pursing a degree in Exercise Science. This program can be the basis for several careers and even if you want continue your education after the fact. They also have a fantastic graduate program that is 1 year long. It is hard to find graduate programs that are only a year. The professors in this program are always willing to help students in need. They treat us like real people and make real connections with us instead of treating us like subordinates. Every faculty member is looking to help advance our careers and are willing to give us constructive criticism when it is deserved. The head of the department is phenomenal and has had a life long impact on my life. Her fun yet bold personality stands her apart from most departments on this campus. The classes she teaches are enjoyable to attended as well as extremely informational. She makes the classes fun but also gets down to business when its time. For instance, when I was applying to graduate school in the fall I continued to put off my applications because it was so extensive and expensive. She could see it in my face that I was exhausted and drained from my studies, activities, and now adding the load of applying to graduate school was very difficult for me. But knowing me for 3 years, she knew applying to graduate school was necessary for me to achieve my dreams. She called me into her office and gave me some constructive criticism and told me that if I don't finish my applications soon I'll have no chance of getting in. Her telling me that was what I needed. A small push from a great mentor helped me continue on my path to success. She knew I needed to help and now I have gotten into the #12 program in the country for my degree. Without her or any of my professors at East Stroudsburg University I would not be where I am today."

"Good social life and good academics. The school is small but with a larger college feeling atmosphere. There are tons of good food places within walking distance and there is always something to do. If you are an outdoorsy person and like to hike, snowboard, and ski, it is located right in the heart of the Pocono mountains."

"ESU is a great place to further your education. Its students have great diversity, and the student body is a right-knit community. The professors all care so much about their students, and make them earn their grades. The professors almost always are willing to help and are usually in their office to offer advice. The dorms are nice and the Resident Advisors are fantastic at bring the residents together. The sports are also great at East Stroudsburg as well. The athletes are apart of the community, and are always interacting with other students. Overall, East Stroudsburg University provides a great base of support and great overall college experience for its students."

"East Stroudsburg University is well-known for their excellent Exercise Science program. As a graduate of the Clinical Exercise Physiology concentration, I feel prepared and knowledgeable within my field. The lab skills that I have acquired and continue to hone are a great asset in the workplace. The technology offered by the department is new and current with research being done within the dynamic field. The professors complete their own research and grant studies, always staying ahead of the curve on sports nutrition, biomechanics, strength and conditioning, and more. The professors push you out of your comfort zone and are always available for questions or help you may need. They will take the time to make sure you understand their course material so that you succeed, not just in their class, but in your future career. I would recommend ESU to my closest friends for their higher education. I believe the professors and their passion for their field speaks volumes for the quality of education you receive in this school."

"Beautiful campus, great selection of courses, good professors. It's a state college, so cheaper than private, but that in no way impacted the education I received there. I had a great experience."

"East Stroudsburg University remains a stable choice in Pennsylvania's Higher education system. Balanced is the word that comes to mind when describing my Alma Mater. I felt the faculty prepared me well for continuing my education and the facilities available came at a good value considering the cost of admission. If you are a student worried about the outlandish price of a bachelor's degree in today's market, I would urge you look into state funded higher education and specifically ESU."

"I received a Master Degree in Biology. The program was excellent! The teachers were incredible! They were extremely knowledgeable in their respective fields. My major advisor, who I did research under, was probably one of the most brilliant men I've ever met. Not only that, he, as well as the other professors, were personable, kind, understanding educators. I always felt comfortable in their presence, and knew I was getting an amazing education. I always wanted to be a professor, and became an adjunct professor at the age of 26. I am now in my mid-40's, and am still a professor... LOVING every minute of it! I also took graduate-level education classes at ESU, and I credit my teaching, curriculum-writing, syllabus-writing, etc ability/skills to the education I got here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this school!"

"The East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania provided me a great experience and pursuing an English degree tremendously improved my abilities as a both a professional and creative writer. My professors helped a great deal in my development through their dedication and kindness. My teachers went out of their way to assist me in any way possible, and overtime I've even befriended a few of them. I only have one notable criticism; although many of the teachers are quite good, if you end up with a low quality professor, they are likely very substandard especially since at ESU, there is not much of a grey area. Overall, East Stroudsburg University is definitely one of the better 14  colleges. It's a fun place to party (if you're into that) and education-wise, it is a great value for the money. Most importantly, ESU will best serve you if you go the extra mile and take advantage of all what it has to offer."

"My experiences at East Stroudsburg University were excellent! I earned my undergraduate degree Bachelor of Science in Recreational Therapy. The program was small and the professors were tremendous. They knew us by name and were unbelievably understanding and supportive. As a non-traditional student, I served our country as a member of the United States Army National Guard. The professors and staff at East Stroudsburg University were extremely accommodating and understood the demands of service. They worked with me pertaining to assignments and deadlines that conflicted with my duties as a soldier in the Army National Guard. To this end, I am extremely grateful. Additionally, I was encouraged by my wife Alicia to pursue a career in education as a teacher of students with disabilities. My college advisor went the mile with me to assist in this pursuit, as I needed two additional classes in the arena of special education (outside of my major). She approved the taking of these classes, which opened the door for my alternative route endeavor to become teacher certified in New Jersey. When it was all said and done, I earned 5 teaching certifications in New Jersey upon graduating with my degree in Recreational Therapy from East Stroudsburg University. My advisor also pointed out that if the state of New Jersey was providing the alternate route option, it was more cost effective not to switch majors thus I took the required courses New Jersey needed for my intended certifications. In all, I love what I do today and am extremely grateful for the mentoring, assistance, and support I received at East Stroudsburg University."
