"I enjoyed my program. Only complaint i have is the favoritism shown to certain students and certain teachers who were horrible still being employed here or and not responding to student emails. Aside from those few i would definitely recommend the school. I got what i needed to succeed."

"Do not attend this school. Unprofessional, they don’t hire enough teachers, curriculum is outdated and not fluid. Clinicals are placed in nursing homes rather than hospitals for nursing school students. The Director of nursing has no clue what she’s doing and the dean doesn’t want to fix anything. They had the director of nursing teaching classes rather than her roll as a director."

"I feel this institution is pretty poor in their professionalism. They were really dismissive and disobliging in my in processing and testing using terms like "if you pass" and my councilor going on leave without notifying me or leaving a 2ndary resource. they lost my transcripts over 3 times costing me $40 in transcript fees. They lost my medical drop papers when I had long term covid- I caught at a clinical experience as numerous people caught covid in this time frame- so when I actually failed a class it looked on paper like I failed 3 classes. I was put on probation due to this and had to appeal this finding to be determined unfit- Next month I graduated with my BS of Psych with a 3.2 gpa and started my MS of Psy and currently have a 4.0 GPA I am autistic and I had a professor email me telling me I was odd in class- unprofessional. Same teacher latter stated I need to be medicated to be in class- unprofessional. Also they have professors that are known or failing entire classes and teach multiple classes at the same time so multiple classes are discussed during the time dedicated to another class. All in all do not recommend."

"ECPI Raleigh nursing program WILL NOT make you an RN. Please do not go to this school until the staff have the mind set that they will make you the best nurses ever, not just tell if you if you fail an exam that you will fail the semester. I was accepted to two honor societies, so grades were not the issue, and the school still couldn't facilitate my graduating. When students fail, the instructors, management, and the school as a whole have failed. There are no short cuts to becoming an RN. Go to your community College, take all your prereqs (that count as credit at other institutions) and complete a nursing program for a fraction of ECPI's fees."

"I absolutely dislike this school and wish I wasn’t so naive and did more research. It’s so expensive and your expected to not work while attending 8-12 hour clinical and class mon-fri depending on the term, when people have children and have to pay to live… literally. Very unorganized school and only want your money. Lacking employees, and none of the instructors really care if you understand the material and WANT you to pass. It’s literally you either got it or you don’t. One professor (Edgar) is the only instructor who made sure i gained understanding actually sacrificed her time to make sure i passed. We as students literally pay for everything even though we put $40+K into this program. I would recommend this school to be your last resort ! 2/10. For some reason they have a great reputation but they ain’t worth crap and their judgemental. Just do your research, my experience may not be yours."

"Unprofessional, unprepared people directing others lives and taking their money. Processes need to be corrected. It could be a wonderful environment with all the advanced technology available at the school. I think there are too many new staff members. No one seasoned enough to really help students get prepared. Professors are very educated and capable though."

"Starting out at this school, I was so excited to get into nursing; an accelerated program at that. I passed my TEAS tests and was ready to go. When I started, I knew it would be stressful; I mean it's an accelerated nursing program, BUT I didn't think the instructors and staff would make it even harder to get through. If you went to talk to the DON, she always belittled you, made smart remarks, and just simply did not care. Halfway through 2 of my classes, I've had professors leave (because they couldn't stand being there) AND get fired (over nothing), then came in the following day to my DON teaching the class (which I simply failed once she came in); and mind you, the DON is supposed to be in her office doing schedules, making phone calls, and being in there in case a student has a problem they need help with. Also, the DON is more worried about interrupting class to call out students wearing jackets/hoodies rather than worrying about the job she has to do. Like I am sitting in a class for 8 hours, a whole workday, I am not going to freeze just because you care more about the dresscode than your job. The assistant DON has actually been teaching a class for two terms now, because of the lack of instructors. Moving on, the instructors do not care about your education. They do not care to teach the correct material. They do not care if you are struggling. I had ONE instructor for two terms who was the only one who seemed like she had her stuff together, and the only one who cared about teaching you the things you need to know. Another one of my instructors was teaching to three students and completely ignored the rest of the class. If the rest of the class was asking a question, she would either cut you off mid question or just make you look dumb in front of the class, after ASKING us to ask her questions. Moving on to clinicals. My clinicals got cancelled for two terms because they could not find an instructor who wanted to instruct ECPI students at the hospital. Therefore, we got told we would have to find time on the side (preferably Saturdays) to make those clinicals up when it was totally out of the students control. Moving on to failing a class. If you fail a class, you are required to sit out for five or more weeks until you can retake it. I was told I was not a priority and couldn't be promised a spot at first. You also can only fail three classes before having to restart the entire program over again, which in my opinion is complete bs. Also, we got offered tutoring, but the tutoring is most of the time either out of town or late at night and for the people who feel they need tutoring but live over an hour away (ME), it's totally unfair. Most instructors do not care to do tutoring after class, and when they do, they belittle you the entire time because you're either failing or struggling to understand things. We also got offered free counseling (yes, crazy right...) but the counseling isn't even free, you have to pay extra. So, these students like me who feel they need counseling because of this, can't even get what they got told they would get because they are broke nursing students who can't even make time to work anymore because they are worried about how they are going to get through it. The school is just simply all over the place. It made me not want to pursue my education to become a nurse; I actually just withdrew from the school. It's pretty discouraging when a school makes you want to give up your dream to find something else to do that makes you happy. I understand nursing school is difficult, but the nursing students deserve the correct material they need to know, they deserve that support group at school (like the DON's, instructors, and staff), and they do not deserve to feel belittled and like they have no help when they need it. If you are reading this and you currently attend ECPI or are planning to, I truly wish you the best and I hope your experience is better because you deserve it. And I apologize for the "rant review"."

"Raleigh ECPI campus stinks! Why are the only satisfied students the cyber students but all the health care students hate it. ECPI need to rethink this RN program. It stinks! I mean my orientation consisted of the president of the program telling us how difficult it is going to be and how they have a 💯 percentage pass rate on the NCLEX, only to find out they ONLY had 7 nursing students graduate. Heck they should all have passed… It’s only 7! But wait it gets better,,, not all 7 really passed. 6! Passed out of the 7. Leaving this school with … yep not that 💯 perfect percentage pass rate. Wow, so with only 7 students passing your program not even all of them passed the NCLEX? It’s because your system isn’t a good one Labanca! Dominic! Snow! Awful Foy! It’s a broken system. Fix it. Your school takes money and still failed your students that passed! You stink Raleigh!!! What a joke for a nursing school. My daughter had the worst nurse and I’m convinced he was a ECPI Raleigh grad!! PU So yeah don’t waist your time or money here. It’s a bad program. Unless you’re doing cyber something. They seem to be happy well,,, happier?"

"The accelerated ADN program seemed like a good choice at first and the advisors harassed me to no end until I finally came in to talk with them. Being in between local universities application timeframes and not wanting to wait another year to start a program, I caved and enrolled. Being a relatively new program to the Raleigh campus, I came into it all with an open mind and anticipated some hiccups along the way. The first two semesters consisting of fundamentals and both A&P's gave me no qualms, all instructors were very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to ensure you knew the content. Fast forward to the core nursing classes and things took a very steep decline...the majority of nursing instructors are nurse practitioners that are so far removed from actual fundamental nursing skills to the point that they read the powerpoints verbatim and struggle to teach you even the most mundane hands-on skills in lab. When asked to elaborate or explain a procedure, they'll give you the dear in headlights look and rattle off something that completely contradicts what the books state. Not once did anyone in my class feel like the instructors were actually passionate about teaching or had a desire to see us do well, they were only there for the paycheck to substitute their side jobs that always came before us. Out of an entire semester in lab (8hrs every week), our class learned the equivalent of one hour of actual knowledge while the rest of the time was spent being forced to listen to irrelevant stories from the instructor that were "essential to passing the class". While the clinical preceptors were amazing, unfortunately, they only precept...It's as if they hired all their actual nursing instructors off of a craigslist ad without vetting their experience. I am beyond frustrated to have wasted my time at this school only to find out that NONE of their credits transfer to other community colleges or universities based on their coding of classes and credit amount. Please, save your money and sanity by looking into other ADN programs in the triangle."

"I seem to be another disappointed victim of ECPI Raleigh. This experience has been terrible to say the least. My classroom lecture was a joke. My instructor read directly off the PowerPoint slide and then tested you 100% on anything that you could have been more unprepared for. Nothing you are shown or told to teach yourself was ever on the test. Basically you’re set up for failure. I did fail along side half of my class. It was a terrible experience to know you didn’t make it out of the first nursing class. ( the school should feel terrible too, that they’re instructors are so bad that they’re students keep failing) remember, not only does the students fail, so does the teachers! You fail your students, remember that. YOU FAIL YOUR STUDENTS! You failed in preparing, grooming, molding, teaching, inspiring, cultivating and educating them to be the best nurse, not just a test taker. We were all told we would return in 3 months. We all waited and none of us were offered a returning seat. Not only did a lady none of us ever heard of make the call to let us know we were not returning, the Director of Nursing never reached out, returned a single call or email. Sent a letter or even said good luck next time to us students she so called cared for. We were now just the ones that failed. Not one person from ECPI advocated for us. Told us a plan or gave any advice. They made thousands of dollars off of us and we’re just nothing to them now. Nothing at all. What a school family. Just the failures. One would think they would try to mold us and inspire us, instead they literally disappeared. No one has reached out? Even still. You are really just another dollar to them. Do not waste your money. You will regret it. They will do the same thing to you. I still haven’t heard from the DON or anyone from the school. None of my fallen classmates have. I’m choosing to go elsewhere. Maybe I’ll be treated better and be taught how to actually become a nurse. Not whatever that mess was they were doing. Please beware of this scam school. The proof is in the output of nurses and I don’t see any! Oh the 7 where only 6 passed the NCLEX lol. Joke! And FYI , it takes more than taking a test to be a good nurse Dr. Foy! You suck and I hope to never be a patient of yours. Miss. Lablanca, your a terrible DON. You should advocate for the students. Not discourage and put them down. Your not a good DON! Where is your compassion? You suck too. I’m happy I’ve decided to attend another school. They even told me that they end up getting all your students once they find out your school is a scam. Beware"

"I am currently attending ECPI Raleigh campus and this experience is an absolute nightmare. I am so disappointed with this program and how it’s ran. My nursing instructors are so far removed from the subjects they’re teaching it’s shameful. The DON shows zero concern and empathy for the students or about the students. Mrs. Lablanca seems nice but she doesn’t care about us. And if she does, it does not show. All she talks about is A&P but this school is more than A&P. Her assistant Mrs. Snow is nice but she’s just a puppet. The students are all miserable! We watch our amazing classmates fall off one by one. We’re told in the beginning that we won’t all make it, pretty much discouraging you from the beginning. But who see’s success when your school only puts out 7 nurses and not all 7 pass the NCLEX? They keep playing that broken record that it’s an accelerated program. Many students attend accelerated programs and are successful. This school is flawed for a lack of words. I’ve been told this particular campus was horrible and now I see it for myself. I thought I’d be different. My mother is a NP and has begged me to leave this program. So he believes that I’m not being given a good quality nursing education. I explained to her that labs are not included in the grade and she said that’s ECPI’s rule not the board of nursing. This school has disappointed so bad. I’m not happy with my choice to attend such a selfish, unhealthy, shameful, bias, lackadaisical, careless, awful school. Even my instructors before the core nursing classes told us students to run. That this school was going to leave us in a position where we use all our financial resources and will be unable to attend another school to become successful people in the world and take care of our families. So far they were right! Beware people. But I get it.. Everyone wants to be a nurse and these people sell you a big dream that can’t be fulfilled. I’m very disappointed Mrs. Lablanca and Mrs. Snow you honestly have no idea how we feel. We’re not happy with you ladies. We wished you actually cared about our learning and not just when we’re attending the school but you don’t check on your students who are awaiting return? You don’t care about them. I talk to my old classmates who are awaiting returns and you ladies just leave them. Horrible, just mean and horrible. This doesn’t foster a community of care and commitment. Do better."

"Their RN program is designed for failure. I have not yet met a single person to graduate from it ( the Raleigh, NC campus) This school doesn’t promote an atmosphere of success rather the stereotype that female RN instructors must be (the B word). I’ve attended professional schools throughout my life and this school has shown me that you have to be only out for yourself. They do not promote being a good nurse but being a good test taker. When you have a starting class of 30 and a graduation class of 7 that should have been a red flag but like everyone we all think we’re different. People! When looking for a RN program, stop and think is a graduation class of 7 and 6 passing the NCLEX really a good school? If you fail you have to sit out 3 months before you can start again, so there goes the acceleration program. You’ve just extended your program 3 extra months. So just go to a school that has THE TIME to foster a good student RN. A school that has the TIME to see you as an individual not just a grade to turn into the board of nursing. A school that puts out more than 6 nurses a graduation. This program is a joke. They are not for your success although they want your money. Is the administration staff nice, Yes they are but they’re useless. They have nothing to add towards your success as a student. But a tissue to dry your eyes and some bs kind words to get you out of their office ( many of the best nurses fail) the only thing they will say is that same broken record.. it’s an accelerated program,, you shouldn’t work,, if you don’t feel like you’re teaching yourself your not doing a good job,, we care,, blah blah blah. Show me graduates! And more than 7! This should have screamed scam! The RN instructors mostly have NP’s and DNP’s but they’re so far removed from where we were as students that they were useless. They say they care but really they have a job and it’s only business to them. You’re their job weather you pass or fail. I was given 2 great pieces of advice from current students at the time. One, (run from this program, I’ve spent thousands of dollars and I’m repeating another class because of “1” point. ) And Two, ( don’t listen to Anything the instructors say while lecturing, tune them out and study your own devices and you’ll pass). While I am making the decision to go to a traditional program, I look around and see so many unhappy people, it’s heartbreaking and I hate to see people that I know are Never going to make it here keep wasting their time and lowering their self esteem with each blow. This school is a joke people. Really think long and hard. It’s my tenth term and I’m really considering leaving. I hate their grading system and their lack of care and compassion for students that will be the best nurses. But the selfie taking, no bill paying, no job having, privileged advance through. ( this is why nurses suck now! Ugh!) And to the people who choose to go to ECPI ( Raleigh, NC campus, I can not speak for other ECPI campuses) good luck and I wish you well. Just don’t waste too much of your time and money thinking your doing something quickly when believe me by time your done you’d wish you saved 40+thousand and went to a community college. It’s going to take the same time unfortunately. I guess they get you because they’re easier to get into. Again, that should tell you something. THINK PEOPLE!! Good luck. ECPI IM OUT!!"

"Horrible place! Failed a class and have to wait 4 months! Ontop of that, in order to get back into the program, you must do remediations and quizzes during those 4 months even though you are not considered a student at the moment. Reason given from the DON is because "students who fail are not priority, so you have to wait until we have an open seat for the next class". Can't believe I was even told "if you can't even pass this class, how are you going to pass the next class?". I realized that at that moment, the school DOES NOT CARE about the students, just there for the money. Ontop of that, I failed because the instructor read off the presentation boards for the entire class time and when you ask the instructor for clarification or help, instructor can't even explain the answer or instructor says "I'll contact you when I know, I don't know right now", but never gets back to you! Even if you make a 78% you are a automatic fail. You must have 80% to pass the class. They also tried to have me pay $2500 just to repeat one class!!! Out of pocket as well!!! Don't go here. It's ridiculous. I wasted my time because of how horrible this nursing program was, it has discouraged me to go into the route of nursing. Even if you complain about an instructor not giving proper help, they still see you as the one at fault. Supposedly, it was "my fault for not understanding" even though I participated in tutoring, asked questions, and tried to ask for help. Waste of $35k. Don't go here. Even if you end up failing a class, you will either be waiting months just to retake the class or you will end up failing the class again and kicked out of the program AND can't even take the classes that you took at ecpi with you BECAUSE other schools don't accept them. Keep In mind that ecpi is only regionally accredited, which means, your limited to where places would want to hire you."

"This college lacks the staff and materials to run the RN program. This program began in 2020. They have set students up for failure, rather than for success. This school is EXPENSIVE and is inconsiderate of their students who attend. They provide you with information that they expect you to know, but do not provide you with the materials or guidance for you to be successful. The staff there is RUDE. The director mentioned how the nursing students were "second hand students who get pregnant when they are in high school". I have been humiliated by a NURSE in all aspects. She ruined my education experience and has broken me down to the point where I do not want to do Nursing. She ruined my career path by being rude to me during checkoff then failing me. Not only did she fail me, but she was very rude the entire time and did not let me finish. A nurse from Wake Tech Hospital came in the last week of class and mentioned how if we did not pass checkoff we would not pass the class. Mind you, they told us this the very last week of class. Not only did she fail me for not "passing a check-off" she humiliated me the entire time. She judged me in every aspect while I was doing it. She kept interrupting me while I was completing my checkoff. Not only was she interrupting me, but she kept huffing and puffing the entire time and nodding her head and pacing. She failed me for a checkoff while maintaining a B average in the class. I attempted to defend myself as I know I was not in the wrong, but they will always choose their staffing over their students since they lack staffing members at the facility. Although you may finish school fast, it is stressful. I was heading towards the right direction, but ECPI did not take me into consideration. They took my money and robbed me from an education. Not only did they fail me, but they mentioned that I would have to retake the course in 4 months! I suggest to whoever is reading this post. Do not commit the error that I did for attending ECPI. It is a waste of time, money, and energy. I suggest you to invest in your education elsewhere. Somewhere where they appreciate you and guide you to success."

"I was so happy to pass my TEAS and get into nursing school. It had long been a dream of mine. Things started out well, I did my pre-reqs and started regular classes. I knew it was an accelerated program but the amount of material that they cover in 5 weeks is insane. Tests on 13 chapters every week. It's crazy. There was zero consistency in leadership. Teachers came and went so fast. A new DON was brought in who could care less about students. We were never informed about any changes in staffing. Teachers were there and then they were gone. Terrible communication. The new DON started at the ECPI campus in Richmond in the middle of the term. She decided that grades and the amount of quizzes we were taking weren't enough and was worried that if the state came and inspected things the school might get into trouble. So rather than be honest, she added quizzes and gave students 0's so it would look better for her without telling students. This brought GPA's down and some people ended up not passing the class. I was fortunate enough to have a high enough grade in the class so that when she started changing grades I didn't fall so far that I didn't pass. You don't tell a student what is expected of them at the beginning of the class then come in at the end and change everything. Talk about UNETHICAL and DISHONEST! The DON never returned calls or emails. She would treat you like you were a bother. You would get your class schedule literally a day before classes started. Sometimes they weren't even ready then. It's ridiculous that there isn't enough organization to get the schedules done in a timely manner. I felt like I was always being treated like a second class citizen. Online classes were a joke. The teachers just read from power points for 5 hours. Due to the reputation the DON got, hardly any hospitals would allow us to be there for clinicals. The equipment in the SIM labs was very inadequate or not even there. A lot of the hands on information you need to learn never got taught to students. I was asked to give a shot to a patient in a clinical setting and I had no idea how to do it. There's no reason why anyone should go into a clinical setting and not have the basic nursing skills needed. They were just never taught. We were constantly having to do care plans even though you will never, ever do one on paper in the real world. I understand learning how to do them and doing some but we we constantly having to do them rather than doing more beneficial things. We had projects/papers to do that were a complete waste of time when you are in an accelerated program. There were constant changes to the handbook and you pretty much had no choice but to sign them. Then the grading of tests changed. You overall grade in the class could be passing but if you didn't get a combined test score of 80 you failed. I saw several instances of outright cheating by fellow students, reported this and nothing happened to them. They passed the classes and moved on. This school cares about your money and that's about it. The sad part is that they don't take more of this money that they get from students and put it back into the programs. I would never recommend this program to anyone. It was a HUGE waste of time and money. Please, please consider another school. What you need to know to be a good RN you will never learn here."

"I can’t believe ecpi is allowed to remain open. This school is a joke!! I would not recommend this school to anyone. They talk to you like you are nothing, don’t answer questions and when you do ask questions you are treated as you are dumb and answered sarcastically. If the head is out of order in any program it will not be successful and the head is definitely out of order. Now all of the instructors aren’t bad but majority are there fir a paycheck not concerned about the students at all. I am disgusted with this nursing program and it almost had some students contemplating if they even wanted to pursue their career as a nurse or not. Dreams and expectations of nursing experiences have been crushed and for instructors to be ok with how they treat students is not ok. I pray you pray before considering this school believe me when I say your prayer will not lead you here it will not lead you here. I’m in disbelief and can’t believe they are still operating under these conditions something has to be done!!! UNFAIR"

"Do not waste your time and money at the school. The teachers don’t actually teach they read from a textbook you are not given a study guide and you have to self teach. You were never allowed to see your test that you have taken to see what answers you have gotten wrong. I feel like the test are set up so that you fail and you have to repeat the class again."

"Avoid this school at all costs. I read warnings about it being a diploma mill and I still attended it. Do not make the same mistake I did. Your health and wallet will be better off for it. I can hardly begin to describe some of the absolute horrors that I and my classmates witnessed here. It started like you would expect any school experience to start. Everyone had high hopes for their future and was eager to learn everything the classes had to offer. When we had our first clinical experience, it became clear we were not attending them for the purpose of education. The nursing home we were sent to has over 270 pages of health code violations. Two students walked in on a man suffocating a patient with a pillow. An MA would spray residents in the face with disinfectant. We were forced to bathe patients using old pillow cases. Staff would disappear entirely and leave only the students with a couple of months of classroom knowledge and no medical experience to care for patients, even in emergency situations. ECPI continues to send students to that nursing home, which changes its name each year to avoid being closed. Rather than practice skilled nursing or learn anything, we were there to be unpaid CNAs for 12 hours twice a week. But that was only the first red flag of what was to come out of this school. Students aren't allowed sick days (totaling over 19.9% or precisely one day), which means for the majority of our classes, our entire class was sick since everyone had to come to school regardless of symptoms, even immediately following ER visits. This is difficult and grueling under normal circumstances. When the pandemic hit and nothing about our school changed in response, it became dangerous and in some cases, life-threatening. I often expressed concerns to my clinical instructors about the strange, unforgiving nature of the handbook. One replied that the school had to ensure that every student, or at least a majority failed at least one class and reenroll, so that the DON looked good for retention. When I frowned at that, she told me, "It's a business, darling." When a classmate took a leave of absence to celebrate her anniversary, she was told she could reenroll in three months when the class she would need came back around. She was denied reentry, but wasn't told why. After six months, she tried again and was, again, denied reentry. Unsatisfied with not knowing why, her husband came with her and demanded to get to the bottom of it. When reviewing everything, the school told her that she would never get back into the program because she failed Concepts II. She had never taken that class. Despite jumping through all of the LOA hoops demanded, the school continued to charge her for tuition for classes that she never attended. Worst of all, the teacher for that class had marked that she attended every single day of class and simply put a 0 in for every assignment, lowering her GPA further than anyone who had actually failed a class. The school blamed the student for the incident. After the pandemic began spreading, students started to feel unsafe attending clinicals at the hospital. No changes were made to the student handbook until the governor issued an executive order banning nursing students from hospitals. A classmate had treated a patient who tested positive for COVID-19 with no PPE and continued to come to class with all of us. She later had to quarantine, but the school casually swept it under the rug and didn't inform any of the class or staff that it had happened and that all of us had been exposed. ECPI scrambled to make some kind of online education program in just a few days. The only IT on campus apparently quit and the school took an entire term to figure out how they could administer tests without letting students cheat. We were no longer receiving the education we paid for, if we ever were. Lecture became teachers reading off slides and losing internet connection or being unable to access their own class rooms. Clinical was at least a redeeming quality as it consisted of a virtual simulation that functioned similar to a flash game that required you to care for a virtual patient. This was when I first contacted the DON personally. I kept my head down through most of the program, but the rocky transition to online left a lot to be desired. When a teacher changed the grading metric used for a single test and only for our class, I immediately contested it. Why should I take a 70, when every other class in the school was given a 90 for my score on the same test. I called to ask "Why am I (and my class) being graded on a different metric than the rest of the program?" The DON, Robin Bell, dismissed my concerns and went so far as to say my questions were pointless because "you didn't pass, did you?" She continued to scream over me when I tried to answer, "you didn't pass, so it doesn't matter! Nothing you say matters!" I was completely floored. I had never spoken to someone so unprofessional and unable to answer a simple question. I never spoke to her again without recording the conversation. I passed the course and continued in the program after that, despite my first failing test grade. Next, the school attempted to reopen as fast as possible. They ignored all executive orders and packed over 100 people in the building the first day I came back to campus. I expressed concerns to the administration over the reopening. I told the campus president that reopening as cases spiked seemed hasty and I noticed that the school hadn't changed the policy on sick days. They also wanted every student to sign a liability waiver saying they wouldn't be responsible if a student caught COVID-19 and died as a result of their reopening. I explained that every single student in the school came to class sick because the handbook said they had to and no pandemic would stop that, because most of them were already paying $50,000 to be there for the year. He gave me a very canned response, saying student health and safety were his top priority. He then directed the rest of my questions to Robbin Bell. I decided that was his way of saying to drop the subject. As expected, about three weeks after campus reopened, the secretary in the front office tested positive for COVID-19 after personally screening every student who came through the front door. Students were not informed of this. To this day, they haven't been told that the school put them in direct contact with COVID-19. The state issued a waiver on clinical hour requirements for RN students to prevent the spread of disease. Despite this, ECPI has reopened its clinical sites in hospitals. A student who had just finished chemotherapy and was concerned for her personal safety reached out to the clinical instructor. She was informed that the floor they were sending students to was a COVID-19 overflow unit. The hospital waiver stated the school would be required to provide PPE for the students, however, upon arriving at the clinical site, none was provided. ECPI continues to send innocent students with no PPE to dangerous clinical sites with no remorse. They know that their students getting sick is the best possible outcome for them. The global pandemic is the best thing to ever happen for ECPI-VAB because all of the students they force to get sick for clinical hours that they don't need will have to pay for the term again, if they live through the pandemic. Absolutely sickening school. Glad to be gone, but I feel so bad for the students that must continue to suffer there."

"This school is so inconsistent with their grading rubric. You have some really nice teachers who are amazing nurses and who are passionate about teaching but you mostly get teachers that are there for the paycheck with minimum input, help and don’t care whether you are successful or not. During my time here they changed that we are required to get a Level 2 on ATI which is understandable because it is the NCLEX indicator. Then they changed it so we have to get an 80 test average. Every other school around us requires a 75, as long as you pass the class with an 80. I figure too many people were passing and they want their money from when you have to retake the course. Now because of COVID-19 we have gone online for classes. At least 7 people failed in the last class (Leadership). I was almost at a level 3 on ATI, yet I didn’t pass the class because the teacher literally reads the book to you. Everyone bombed the first test and the teacher had so much background noise and her smoke detector kept beeping and her dog was barking. She would only actively engage with the class if she seen that the DON was eavesdropping. The last class who took her class in-person had a lot of people fail too. You would think that because not everyone learns best online they would waive the 80 test average and keep the 80 class average for passing but they don’t care at all about you. Even when the world needs nurses now, more than ever. So tell me why I passed the ATI with an amazing score, but failed the class? Because the teacher. Thank you, that is all. Avoid ECPI!!!"

"Everything started out great during the admission and interview process at the Virginia Beach campus at Medical Career Institute. I was in the practical nursing program and everything was a disaster immediately within the first 3 weeks. Everything is completely rushed in the program with every block being 5 weeks. Our A&P1 lecture by week 3 was around chapter 3 and 4 while the lab instructor was teaching us things into chapters 10 and 11. The entire class would ask questions about material and we were given one answer by the instructor (Van Dyke) was study study you should know this already. This issue went beyond the instructor level to the administration level but nothing was changed. Bottom line is this place is a cash cow, education for hire facility. Look at the low graduation rates and cost. If you are a veteran like me, please go to your local community college or state university and go to school. ECPI was a complete was of time for myself and many others. I should have listened to my gut after reading so many similar reviews."
