"My experience here at Everglades University has been fantastic. I was skeptical and stressed out at first because I wasn't sure if I could go to school and work out how to finance school on my own. I decided to give it a try because I was tired of the healthcare I was receiving and I thought there had to be a better way; there had to be something I was missing. In July 2018 I will graduate with my Bachelors in Alternative Medicine and I will enter the Master's program for Public Health Administration with a Concentration in Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Im looking forward to this next step as it will be another stepping stone to my career plans. This masters degree will help me make an impartation into the lives of the people in my community which will make a much bigger impact in the community long term. I am currently using the knowledge I've gained at Everglades University to implement a community garden to enhance a food pantry in the community. The classes are smaller at Everglades University; the Instructors have more time to focus on each student which has really helped me achieve and maintain a 4.0 GPA. I ABSOLUTELY love the staff at Everglades; they have gone above and beyond to help and encourage me in every way they can. Coming to Everglades University and choosing the Alternative Medicine program was one of the best decisions I've ever made."

"I started this University in July of 2016 and I must say I absolutely love the way it is set up so that full time employees like myself can actually get an education while also working. I live at home however I help my parents with bills and pay bills of my own as well so I can't go to a community college like HCC full time and work part time. When I did attempt to do both work and school full time in the past at HCC I had bad grades as I just couldn't seem to juggle everything. Now at Everglades not only do I work full time and go to school full time but I am also the Secretary of the Student Government and still make time to go to church and the gym. The staff are so friendly and welcoming they always greet you with a big smile on their face and everyone makes you feel as though you are home away from home. So far the majority of the instructors I have had actually take the time to ensure that you get what is being taught and push you to do your best. I truly love Everglades they are like a second family to me!"

"I love Everglades University! It will be a year that I have been at this school and I have nothing to complain about. The staff is super helpful, caring, understanding, always putting their students first. The professors are amazing, all professionals in medicine that bring insight, knowledge and tips to the class. They are 100% dedicated to the success of their students. It is so refreshing to be in a school like this. I am mother of 3 children and work full time so to not have to stress about my school is amazing, WORTH EVERY PENNY! I was the VP in SGA and that was such a blessing. Really helped me find my talents that I didn't know I had! I would and do recommend this school to everyone I meet, and I am so proud to be representing this school. There is no other school like this in the area with this degree. I am forever thankful for this school and what they are doing to change not only my life but the life of my children! Thank you, thank you , thank you!"

"Hi, my name is Cindy Z.S.. I am a wife, mother of 9 (plus an additional teenager), and grandmother of 7. I drive school bus by day and attend school for Alternative Medicine in the evenings. So, needless to say, I lead a very busy life. I have always had an interest in alternative medicine, but I think it was when I was in my later 20's and had a thyroid problem that I really started getting serious about it. I wasn't pleased with the choices the doctor was giving me, so I decided to try to find a natural way to "fix" the problem myself. Somehow, I stumbled on the right combination of things and saved myself a lifetimes worth of future problems. Last September, I happened to be "strolling" through Facebook and saw an ad for Everglades University and did something I never do.....I filled out the inquiry form. The next thing I know, I am talking to D. (at that time I was unaware that she was the Campus VP), and she after reviewing a couple of items on the phone assisted me into coming into the campus just to talk further. I have to admit it took me two weeks to find the time to come in but Ms. S. sent me information via email as well as a great packet of literature in the mail in the meantime. I came to the campus on a Saturday and Ms. S. was waiting for me at the front lobby area. I was in her office for no more than ten minutes before deciding to go back to school in my mind. I completed all the necessary steps and here I almost one year later. I have met the most wonderful people and definitely have learned more than I could have on my own. I now have a new outlook on things and learn something new everyday. I participate in campus activities and have completed all my community service requirements as of today. I am inspiring others to get involved with our campus and the student government. This was a great decision and am proud that I can handle work, family life, EU campus activities and my 4.0 gpa."

"I feel like the classes aren't challenging enough. They all seem to be the same thing just a different subject; write discussions, take tests, write an essay and/or journals that don't even seem to get read just a random score assigned, mine are usually good but, no feedback is given most of the time as to how to better construct the research or anything. I'm not even sure at the time I go to graduate school if my research paper skills will be sufficient enough. Also the 'online library' is a piece of crap, I don't even know why they have it, the databases are okay but, the library platform is awful. The 'faculty's concern for individual students' is the WORST! My academic advisor only emails me when I 'haven't participated for a few days' not even checking that all of my work is done for that week, she never checks in to see if I feel comfortable about my classes or anything. The financial aid department is so horrible trying to get help figuring out paying for college or understanding student loans or any of it is a waste of time. I have wrote the financial aid department numerous times about needing help with private loans explaining that I can't talk on the phone most of the time and to email me, yet they completely ignore that and call and I can never get ahold of them. No one at this school actually cares about the students, which is disgusting and if the program wasn't so convenient for me with moving around, I'd quit the program and go to a better school."

"Worst school ever. I did 3 years and drop it because it was expensive. For what they are offering is not worth going to. Far in the middle of no where. Small campus yes. But the rest was unorganized and charging me for redundant things. Didn't explain my fees and how much I had to pay. Just don't go. It's not worth it ."

"I started the Alternative Medicine program through Everglades University in July of 2016 and I would definitely NOT recommend this to anyone. I asked to switch to the Science Track at the VERY BEGINNING of the semester (two days in), I sent an email to my Academic Advisor, to which she responded she would process it accordingly and change my classes to the ones required for that program. Next thing I know, I'm put into the wrong class, there's no way of withdrawing from classes on your student portal or anything, and she was unable to speak with me until the first week of this course was over (meaning the class was ONE QUARTER OF THE WAY THROUGH) and I had to switch to the class I was actually supposed to be in and start from the beginning while everyone else was already 1/4 of the way through. After lack of follow through, my next complaint would have to be their lack of caring for the students. It's all about money money money. They don't care what you want to do for a career, or where you would like this degree to take you. After reaching out for some help and guidance from my Academic "Advisor" this was made very clear to me from her apathetic attitude, and lack of advising. I expressed my frustrations to her as well about not being able to decide my classes and not feeling like I had any control over my education. I understand it's an online degree program, and every degree has it's requirements, but they also do not give you any sort of choice as to what classes you'll be taking and when. Furthermore, they truly DO NOT CARE about what you want. After I expressed my problems with having a lack of choice, Ms. Vermiglio and the Dean Dr. Mendez gave me two choices for classes - Nutrition or Biology, I stated I wanted to take Nutrition first. Only to be told that I had already fulfilled my nutrition requirement with an ANIMAL AND VETERINARY SCIENCE CLASS I had taken at a prior university (when I intended to be a veterinarian), and that I would be put in biology. When you want a degree in Alternative Medicine, nutrition is an absolute necessity in my eyes. Even after stating several times to both the dean and my academic advisor that I didn't care if I had already fulfilled the "requirement" I STILL wanted to take it, I was ignored. This degree program is a joke and I completely regret my decision to start here. It's extremely expensive, and not worth the expenses whatsoever. The classes aren't comprehensive enough, they're rushed and rather bland. The faculty and staff don't care about you. College is supposed to be a fun, information-filled, eye-opening adventure, NOTHING like this."
