"Fairmont State University is a wonderful college because students feel connected with their teachers. Classes are so small that it is possible to have a more personal relationship with teachers. This is important because if youre having trouble with an assignment, worried about a test, or not understanding the material, students at FSU are more likely to stay after class and get direct help from their teachers. Also, the tuition is more affordable than others in the state of West Virginia and FSU is great about giving students scholarships if they need them. I would highly recommend Fairmont State University because it is probably the most caring school youll find. Personally, I have made amazing relationships with my teachers, Ive worked for the school since Ive been here, and I couldnt have had a better college experience. I would say that I am extremely glad I chose this school."

"I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 2015. I absolutely loved the program. It was very informative and the professors were always there to advise the students to the best of their ability. The professors were very intelligent and always helpful. I would highly recommend this degree as I learned so much from the program and also was able to get a job in my field a little over a month after graduating!!"

"It was a good experience for me because most of the people were down to earth and very friendly. However, I would like if the school showed more student appreciation."

"The online MAT in Special Education at FSU prepared me for work as a highly qualified educator. All courses were online and ranged from weekly posts/discussions, text assignments, tests, and projects, and finally student teaching. I passed the required PRAXIS courses on my first attempt and gained full time employment prior to graduation!"

"Most of my instructors were very involved and excited about what they were teaching. Some instructors were very interested in your wellbeing and your future success. My advisor was rude and said some negative things, but I believe that was his way of pushing me. I liked the smaller campus size and everyone was always friendly."

"FSU is a great place to go to school. Everything is on one campus. If you can walk to school you can walk the whole time you're there. The whole time while I was there I only had a couple teachers who I didn't like. All the rest were fantastic."

"Practical application engineering versus theoretical. Got a great job doing the exact same thing People who received their Engineering degree do. Be ready to fight the Civil engineering technology stigma though."

  • Degree: Criminal Justice
"My school is excellent in assisting me, as well as other students, in learning the material needed for future careers. The instructors of the Criminal Justice program are teaching me how to think critically and learn the important facts I need to know. The instructors are more than willing to assist you with any troubles you may be experiencing or information you don't understand. They are extremely willing to take and answer questions. Overall, Fairmont State University makes it their number one goal to help all their students."
