"Cons: Does not yet have a Neuroscience program. It is under Integrative Biology."

"Originally, FAU was the only school available in my area for completing an MA in my chosen field. I was disappointed it was not an R1 school and worried I would not get into a PhD program straight out of my MA there. However, these fears were unfounded as I encountered some of the best professors I have ever had the pleasure to study under. The English department at FAU is a community of of brilliant scholars and teachers who are wholly dedicated not only to their research (in which there accomplishments are diverse and meaningful contributions), but also their students. I was given honest and excellent advice and guidance in my years there, as well as a solid background in theory. My professors, especially Drs. Swanstrom and McGuirk, gave sincere feedback and encouragement, and helped me to grow as a writer. I was accepted to an R1 PhD program a semester prior to graduation, partially because of the excellent teaching opportunity the GA-ship provides at FAU."

"My program is wonderful because the quality of our instructors is amazing. They are world-renowned researchers and they serve as wonderful examples. Living in sunny south florida is great, too. My critiques would be about the cost of living in the area, the minimal public transportation available, and the minimal career support network outside of my advisor. Otherwise, it is a wonderful program and I really enjoy working with my advisor and the rest of my lab!"

"I am extremely happy with my choice of graduate program at Florida Atlantic University. The diverse and highly qualified faulty members provide me with an excellent basis for my secondary education. Although Political Science degree offered at the school is slightly broader, the ability to take a number of seminar class in different fields of political science provide a unique type of study."

"I absolutely love the graduate program of Social Work at FAU. The program is encompassing all aspects of social work. We will have the opportunity to work with nursing students in a side by side project, this will help us out in the real world because of the complexity in workers we will deal with. This program really combines all aspects that need to prepare a student to become a Social Worker."

"The school has a much worse reputation than it deserves. The only bad part about this university is the inconvenient area in which it is located, in the middle of an affluent, snobby town, and the difficulty of finding parking on campus, as most of the students are commuters, not residents."

"I wouldn't have my current job without my degree. That being said, my school isn't well known at all (especially outside of Florida). I live in Washington State and nobody has heard of FAU. I kind of wish I went to a better known school."

"FAU is a Great school with a quality education. They care for their students and make sure that you have access to the tools you need to succeed. The only con I have Is that the social life is not the best but then again that is not what you are in school for!"

"The graduate program offers an opportunity to learn more about medicine and have the potential experience of medical school in order to see if that is the route you should be taking. However, there are not enough financial aid opportunities, which is why I am seeking out as many scholarships as possible."

"The Florida Atlantic University program for Social Work was amazing. I was able to learn not only my specialized field but other career options that I could pursue. The teachers are always helpful and the administrators for the program are available whenever you may need them. I loved my experience as an undergrad and I can not wait to begin this summer as a graduate student! I did not experience any cons while enrolled in my BSW at FAU."

"I had already graduated from 2 other colleges previously, which were very good and worth it. The last school I graduated from: FAU also was a good educating in some areas or subjects and depending on the instructor. But overall, I wouldn't recommend that school, too many errors and politics. My area of major was chaotic and needs department improvement. same You become an educated an well informed person, that is also trained to analyze situations and to think outside the box."

"I was admitted to this school by default, due to an error they made. Since then its been a struggle just to do anything, even something as simple as sign up for orientation. I'm quickly learning that FAU stands for "Find Another University.""
