I have gone through so many different scenarios in which FIU has been the least helpful they could possibly be. The entire staff either doesn't know anything or doesn't put any effort into helping you figure it out. YOU WILL HAVE TO FIGURE EVERYTHING OUT ON YOUR OWN. When I say ABSOLUTELY no guidance, I cant stress that enough. From signing up to classes to speaking with academic advisors, the application process, study abroad, just about anything you can think of, the administration makes it a POINT... Read More

I have no complaints with professors so far but I am still fairly new. However, the experience I have had with other staff has been very poor. The police station has very hostile officers who answer the phone, the coordinators for other programs do not want to help you or are extremely aggressive or demeaning when you want to ask a question regarding the program they are offering. When you call financial aid or other lines they never give you accurate information. They need to retrain their staff... Read More

Florida International University (FIU) is a university that supports its students throughout their educational journey. While no school is perfect, the faculty at FIU encouraged personal and intellectual growth both in class and outside of the classroom. Professors at the university are dedicated to their profession and help students who are struggling as well as students who want to go the distance. While career services and financial aide continue to work out some kinks, the professors serve as... Read More

Truthfully, I was very against going to FIU because I wanted to leave Miami. I did not want to stay and continue going to a school in the same vicinity as my high school, but FIU changed my mind entirely. I attended Panther Camp, which made me fall in love with this university before attending. I realized how big they are on their values and making sure students feel welcomed and appreciated. It felt like a family. I was a transfer for Miami Dade College and I felt immediately welcomed as if I was... Read More

FIU is a great school. I loved my time there. The school is beautiful, with large buildings and amazing landscaping. There are plenty of comfortable areas to study, and sit down to enjoy a snack or a meal. The only negative comment I have to make is about the parking situation. Although there are a lot of parking spaces, there are even more students. And when you do find a parking space, you have to walk for at least 10 minutes to class...and in the endless summer here in south Florida, it is not... Read More

I honestly loved FIU. There was so much diversity amongst the students, and so many opportunities. It was a lot of fun because there was always something going on, whether it was something benefiting you academically or socially. The social events, such as tailgates and homecoming were very fun and very well planned/funded. Of course, like every university, there are bad professors. But, thanks to FIU, I had the opportunity to work/meet with faculty and professors that literally changed my life.

I love the psychology department. The professors in that department was great and had real life experiences. Classes were either two days for an 1 hour and 15 minutes or a one day 2 hour and 40 minutes classes. I actually prefer the one day a week class, which didn't feel long at all. The professors dint just lecture, but they provided real life examples and showed great clips for better comprehension.

Florida International University was my home for five years. Had it not been for FIU's ability to provide a variety of degrees, minors and certifications outside of a specific field, I would not have been able to obtain my bachelor's degree in Psychology, minor in Occupational Therapy and certificate in Speech and Language Pathology. Pursing my degree in Psychology opened doors to endless branches of career options. I was able to fall in love with Speech and Language Pathology because of the many... Read More

I travel a lot for work and the need to acquire my degree was important to me. I did a lot of research and found that Florida International University had the degree and field of study that I wanted. Within no time I called and filed an application and was ready to go. After graduating I still get emails on up and coming events and networking socials that will further my career. Upon obtaining my diploma I realized how much I needed to learn and decided that the next step for me was seeking a Masters.... Read More

At FIU with its two diverse campuses you can be sure to find where you fit it. With the help of professors and advisors that will assist you in your journey. Every single person I have come across (at either campus) has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable in their field. This provides you with a sense of comfort that those that are teaching you, know what they are teaching.
