"My experience at Florida State University was excellent. At Florida State, students are given a surplus of resources that help you turn your passion and interests into skills and experiences. I was able to work in several research labs along with side professors, get one internship, study abroad twice. All of this was only possible with the help of many advisors, professors, and other faculty members. It is a great place to find and build yourself."

"Florida State University is truly a unique university. It is located within Tallahassee, the capital of the state, along with two other major schools, FAMU and Tallahassee Community College. The schools all work cooperatively with each other in several departments. We are also the center of political activity within the state which can provide some exciting opportunities to be involved political and with activist groups. FSU is the smallest land area school but it's also beautiful. Several libraries are on campus which are incredible. The food on campus is not the best but they are always striving to improve the Union. Parking garages are also increasing, but parking is still an issue on campus. Professors actually care about their students and you can schedule meetings with them about your future and they will actually give you good advice."

"Although I attended Florida State University several years ago, I continue to visit campus when I travel home to see my parents, who live in Tallahassee. Over the years, the campus has become more impressive as it has been updated with technology-enhanced classrooms, campus improvements, including new and updated dorms, and an amazing student athletic complex. These improvements extend beyond the campus into the surrounding area, which has improved student safety both on and off campus. When I lived on campus, I was involved not only in university activities but also community service. Many students value volunteerism and contributing to the community. This was a great way to meet new people and make friends. It goes without saying that football is huge at FSU and going to games are events not to be missed! For people who arent football enthusiasts, there are plenty of other social activities from student lead musicals and theater productions to a robust Greek life. The education I received at FSU was top notch, having been led by professors who are experts in their field. Although the undergraduate classes tend to be large, through the support of advisors, teaching assistants and professors, students never feel lost in the crowd. The College of Arts and Sciences is the oldest and largest college within the university, however, the list of majors from which to choose is diverse, including those in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. I was a psychology major and have used my degree throughout my various careers. Im grateful for the well-rounded education I received and the life-long friendships I made during my college experience."

"Attending Florida State University was one of the best decisions I've made. It was a great environment to learn and there were tons of opportunities to get involved in activities/clubs both throughout the psychology department and the University. All of the professors were supportive and willing to help during office hours. One of the best learning experiences I had while at Florida State was getting involved in research labs. In fact, I loved it so much that I decided to stick around after graduation to work in a lab and gain more experience before grad school. Florida State University will always have my heart and soul. You can't find this kind of community anywhere else!"

"A degree in Psychology is like a cake: it is only as good as the sum of its individual parts. While you will be taking rigorous coursework, you must supplement your degree by either working with the department in research, exploring other areas of research, and committing to some community service work. It is highly recommended to consider a second major, as having a psychology degree is more for general competency in the field rather than a direct line to a particular career. It is additionally important to consider post-baccalaureate education, as a bachelors degree in psychology is a good lead-in to other fields in medicine, business, and communication. Be constantly searching for areas of interest, and guide your courses to reflect those interests so you are better prepared after graduation."

"As the first person in my family to leave home for the big scary world known as "college", you could say that I was not quit sure what to expect. But only after a short few weeks on campus at Florida State University, I found myself a new home. A home that created memories for me to last a lifetime and an education that propelled me into a field that I wake up loving every day. FSU is a campus that is full of a wonderful, bright, and diverse population- of students and professors alike! There are so many student related activities, clubs, and events that it is nearly impossible to not fall in love with this school. From cheering with 20,000 of your fellow peers at football games, to cramming at Strozier library until two in the morning, I found myself growing and expanding both in and out of the classroom. My proudest moment in life was the ability to hang my degree in my home office and reflect on the amazing four years that Florida State University has provided me. Go Noles!"

"Florida State University provided me with many opportunities both to development both within my education, but also as a student, individual, and leader. The variety of courses that were offered both through my major and minor allowed me to take any route I wished to while staying within my general major. The courses challenged me academically and allowed me to understand the subjects I had the pleasure of learning about. In regards to leadership opportunities, FSU provided me with many ways to express both what I was interested in and provided me with diverse experiences to make my university experience great. The student leaders, faculty, and my mentors allowed me to express my interests and helped me to build a network that has provided me with the confidence to be successful post graduation. Go 'Noles!"

"I attended Florida State University from 2003 - 2007 and earned my Bachelor's Degree in psychology. I am originally from Maryland and am very happy with my decision to attend school in Florida. The campus is beautiful, my professors were great, and there were many activities for students to get involved in. There are many options for on campus and off campus housing, which is part of the reason why I chose FSU. Being from Maryland, I knew many classmates who attended University of Maryland and commuted from Annapolis to class or lived in the dorms all four years. I wanted to go to school that was part of a community, which is part of the reason FSU was the perfect choice. I moved all 4 years in Tallahassee, and every location was near FSU, affordable, and well maintained. The traditions at FSU are kept alive by the students and alumni and it is a great feeling to be apart of a school that has high standards and support from the community. We became national football champions this year and the excitement and pride continues to live on campus. The only downfall was I paid out-of-state tuition and although I have been working for 7 years after graduation now, I am still in debt. I currently work for Florida State and am earning my Master's in Public Health."

"It was a good fit because I went to a local school - not too far from home and a state school - a little less expensive. It was a good transition from high school to a more independent life/living situation. I found I could draw many parallels from a basic psychology education to the real world and many different industries and jobs. My first job out of college was in Human Resources and it definitely helped me get hired. Use college as a jumping off point in your life. It can transform you - unless you are driven to a specific career - get a broad education and take advantage of as many learning experiences as you can - travel abroad - self - study - internships, etc."
