"This school is ghetto, unorganized, and unprofessional! None of the staff want to do their job and they don’t have a clue to what is going on!! This is a “for profit” school which essentially means they jack up the tuition unnecessarily and you’re left with a hefty student loan! Just go to community college or a trade school!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH! The Richmond campus no longer has a dean! She just up and left us without a word! Now everyone is acting clueless just like her replacement! No one ever answers the phone or emails back!!!"

"I am sorry to see so many bad reviews. I graduated from the nursing diploma program at Fortis located in Cuyahoga Falls in 2010. I have been working as an LVN since 2011. I passed the HESI and NCLEX on my first attempts. All of my graduating class went on to pass the NCLEX and have great careers in nursing. I am highly skilled, make good money and have been doing well in my career since. I moved across the country and in comparison to some other LVN graduates where I live now I seemed to have learned and know more in comparison to the LVNs who went to school here. I had no problem with my teachers overall or my clinicals or classwork. The only thing that bothered me is one of my teachers tried to talk me out of going into hospice nursing when I was asked about what field I wanted to work in. I have been a hospice nurse now since 2011 and it's the best thing I ever did and I make excellent money having so much experience in that speciality. Shame on that teacher for doing that. Other then that overall I've been satisfied with my degree."

"Richmond campus….Don’t wast your time. Don’t let that admission test make u feel like u made it because it’s bs. The clinical instructor is the worse. She pick and choose who she wants to pass the dosage test after failing it. They are able to shave points for who they want. Waist of money and time…"

"By far one the worst institutions out there. Literally is only there to take money from students. Please do your research on this place before looking into it. There’s a false advertisement on the graduation rate of students. They brag about having a 100% graduation rate but also purposely don’t mention they drop 80% of the starting class. They also aren’t accredited to the state so you can’t even transfer your credits over to another institution. Definitely not worth anyone’s time."

"this school is a joke!!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO FORTIS INSTITUTE. All they care about is your money. they bribe you at the beginning and they lie. and they don't prepare you for the exams, the HESI or whatever. I failed the HESI because they made us study the wrong materials. none of what we studied was on the HESI. And they just kick me out without a word. they are so unorganized, they will smile in your face and get all your money and they leave you dry. I EMAIL THE PRESIDENT OF THE SCHOOL FOR AN APPPEAL AND HE SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DISCUSSS IT AS A COMMITEE AND HE WILL GET BACK TO ME . I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AFTER THAT.DO YOURSELF A FAVOR SAVE YOUR MONEY, TIME AND ENERGY SOMEWHERE ELSE THAT WILL TREAT YOU LIKE A HUMAN BEING."

"My wife attending Fortis College in Orange Park. After graduating and passing the NCLEX for RN, she is now finding it difficult to find a job. Several places have told her they would not hire her because Fortis did not have accreditation. She was led to believe they were while attending."

"I'm so happy to say I'm no longer a student at the For your Money college, this school is a TERRIBLE place to invest your time and money, people walk off the street with no prior teaching experience and become a full time teacher on your dollars, are teacher constantly told use to Google are questions because she didn't know the answer because she never read the book that she was teaching from, I had teachers that would become angry if you asked questions period, I was told by serval faculty members that this is a self learning environment and you can teach yourself more than I can would laugh and walk away as if my time, future and money was a joke. The Dean of nursing is a narcissist that is just as less resourceful when you have a issue with your educational rights, don't go here with any expectations of passing the NCLEX unless you have outside help go check out the turn over rate for there instructors and passing rates for NCLEX I surely wish I knew these small helpful tips before I went, I had no previous background in nursing but always had a passion for caring for others and decided to attend that CIRCUS act. They have no working lab equipment, nor practical stimulation equipment that they promised when you do your walk through, the teacher didn't believe we needed to wear gloves during needle sticks and told us to do as we pleased during lab time, she would lie about students to other faculty members so they would give those students a hard time as well, they applied for sometime of grant which was a COG grant and later I found out this was illegal because I wasn't a associate degree student but they got the money, I graduated and was on the Dean's list for 3 terms and still had to take the NCLEX 2 times before I passed it, now that I'm working after only applying at 6 different facilities because not a lot of places hire graduates from Cincinnati Fortis because of there reputation of being incompatent, lacking in qualified skills, and there inability to train their students at the appropriate nursing entry level. Last but not to say the least when we went for our clinicals the sites would not even allow for us to do patient care because what was said was that a past instructors told one of there on staff nurses that we had experience with needle sticks and insulin injections and when several students where ask by the Director of Nursing before being allowed to perform the procedure what was the actual process of the procedure no one knew the correct degree of inserting the needle the Director told the instructor we can always observe but would not be allowed to perform the procedure because of the patient risk factors, the same instructor told us in the next class she forgot to show us what to do and if we had read the book the procedure some student said yes so she tried to encourage us to do it on each other, with no one willing to do it she became upset and said if you don't do it here we will not be allowed to do it at the facility!!"

"The absolute best school for nursing in the Dayton area. The professors are great very helpful. The staff are nice and very competent. Do not listen to the haters, they are only jealous, dropped out or could not pay. I was able to fulfill my dreams of nursing with their program. They just got a new DON and she rocks. She really knows how to run a program. They have the nicest staff and you never feel like just a number like you do at other school. It is a very personal experience. My favorite thing was the SIM lab, something other schools do not have. It was very informative and made learning the nursing environment very rewarding, well worth your time!"

"I have never been ashamed of anything as I am in this school. I can't describe the disappointment. The schedule is always changing. The "teachers" just read from slides without even trying to get you to understand, if you ask a question they'll have to look it up or ask you to google it!!!! Ridiculous response for the amount of money they charge. They lie about credentials. Anytime I had an issue they would refer me to "Susan" who obviously hates being bothered with issues, probably because she knows the truth and can't say it. The president there is a JOKE, absolutely no help at all, he gets defensive about any issues and says that we're grown adults and need to learn to deal with the unknown! Unbelievable. Let's discuss clinicals, shall we? Waste! Maternity clinicals are held at a church feeding the needy. All others are at a nursing home where we just sit and do homework the WHOLE time while the instructor tries to sell you keychains that she makes to raise money for her bike runs! She talks inappropriately to the students and shares pictures that should never be seen in the first place and she complains about the school!!! The "education" is nonexistent. Look at their pass to fail ratios, pretty sad that the boards had to come in and the instructors had to cover their butts and blame the students by saying we weren't willing to learn!! I can go on for days, but I hope you get the point. Please do your research if you plan on going to the Centerville campus. Good luck and I wish you the best."

"It is ridiculous that Corporate was the one making the test when they are not the one teaching the students. I think personally that students were being set up for failure so they could get more money out of students. I would definitely not recommend this stupid school to anybody. If corporate wants to run the show, they should be the one coming to classroom teaching students. Our teachers can only do so much. They are good teachers, but the test really screwing the students up."

"The people at the intake are great and very friendly etc, once you have signed up and they get your student loan money the fun begins, 1/2 of the teachers don't care and allow the class room to be an unruly chaotic disaster ( almost akin to a tsunami, students yell ,they cuss and tell each other off at top of lungs ,its ghetto at best) sadly for those of us who want to learn hearing what the teacher has to say is next to imposable. I had a clinical instructor fall asleep and students were laughing and taking pictures of teacher asleep on job. Students openly cheat and teachers read emails and play on phones during test time its twilight zone at best. The dean is nice but I feel he is obvious to the situation and should sit in on more classes and or ask the teacher to leave class every now and then ask us, the people who make his pay check possible what we feel about how we are treated and taught!"

"Fortis is like any other college. Those that are bitter and bitching obviously FAILED. Like any school you attend if you do not apply yourself you going to fail. Many Many students have passed are in successful careers and the Instructors they do care. The new Instructors, President, Dean etc they have are the best. They are well educated have Doctorate Degrees. They teach well. The students who do not make it are the ones who are degrading the school and faculty....and MOST OF YOU'LL WHO COMPLAIN ARE COMING FROM OTHER COLLEGES WHERE YOU HAVE FAILED BEFORE...SOME OVER AND OVER AND OVER."
