""The centerville campus is an absolute mess. The administration staff do not value respect and are too lenient on students who are disruptive! Instead they applaud them for their inconsiderate behavior. Absolutely absurd being as we are in school to be nurses and must maintain a professional respectful demeanor. I would never recommend Fortis to any of my colleagues or friends. Implementing Respect and holding students accountable should have a high standard at such an expensive school!""

"Since graduating from Fortis in July 2022, as an RN I was able to further my career thus earning my degree as a Board Certified HIV/AIDS registered Nurse (ACRN). Thanks to all the teachers who work diligently to help make you the best nurse you can be. It was a struggle with COVID19 but they were always willing to help in whatever capacity they could and for that I am grateful."

"I had attended other schools, Fortis was/is by far the best school! Everyone from financial aid, recruitment, to office staff are professional, helpful and Kind! As for the instructor's, I cannot say enough! Every one of them are kind, caring, and compassionate about what they do. They give 100% Of themselves and their knowledge to help the students become the best Nurses they can be. They work one on one when needed to help guide a skill or to help understand a process. They graciously work in the skills lab and simulation lab as long as it takes to feel confident in a skill. Going to Fortis was the best decision I have made!!"

"To be addressed first of all I think most of all nursing schools lack the current and actual academics necessary to provide students with what is really necessary to be prepared after graduation. Possibly that’s why so many employers want you to have extra training after graduation and the NCLEX. My experience with Fortis was one of the worst schools I’ve ever been to especially considering their price. I really trusted them to give me a good knowledge base to start my career. That did not happen. Our SIM classes consisted of sitting in a room for eight hours with little actual practice and mostly just gossiping for the day instead of studying which they didn’t like you do do too much outside work in this class. My clinical experience consisted of being an accessory because the instructors did not find us skills or teach us much other than a med pass. That’s only if we stayed all day a lot of our day instructors would sneak us out early and that’s nice and all but what was I paying for then? Definitely not to be prepared. I could not imagine going to this school and having no prior medical background I would be so lost in my new experience as a nurse. I was actually told by one instructor not to tell anybody because they will find out and make things life harder for us at school, two instructors actually turned into very unprofessional women after finding out we were being left early. Not what I expected or needed from a nursing school. And certainly did not get my moneys worth!"

"Fortis is a great school that birth amazing nurses. If you love small classrooms and fast pace learning this is the school to attend. I love the fact that you have a lot of hands on training and instructors that goes over and beyond to help you be the best version of your authentic self!"

"I have gone through fortis institute Pensacola twice. Almost 8 years ago for dental assisting & I just finished the nursing program yesterday. I can attest that I had the upper hand in the field due to my education at fortis. The opportunity’s presented to me for having this educational institute behind me are invaluable. I could not have been the professional I am today without the guidance, support & encouragement from fortis & its facility/staff!"

"I actually transferred from another junior college to attend fortis. I had to pay more and drive an hour there and an hour back home everyday…. I’m saying this because the extra drive, time, and money was so worth it to go to fortis institute ! The faculty at fortis is 100% the reason I made it through the program. They take the time with each individual student to tackle anything that there may be problems with. There is an open door policy with all the faculty and they are all amazing. As a student I had BIG issues with my pharmacology math/conversions the teachers there didn’t give up on me and they didn’t stop until I got it ! Now I’m a pro !!! I would refer fortis 10000 times I love everything about it !"

"Fortis Institute of Pensacola has a lukewarm attitude when it comes to motivating their students. My time in the school required a lot of self - starting and peer motivation. The instructors, with the exception of a precious few, are mediocre. The SIM instructors are fantastic, otherwise my online classes with instructors from other states had a much greater impact. The campus administration is disorganized and apathetic, and their interest seems purely based on keeping accreditation and $$$. The resources & support are dismal. I will say that the rigorous exam curriculum did adequately prepare me for NCLEX, and I passed! I wish I had better things to say, and I’ve thought long and hard about my time there. I have been a working professional in a corporate setting for many years and was astonished at the lack of professionalism the nursing program embodies. A shining star for that school is Antonia Forney, she is wonderful & truly cares for the students."

"I learned a lot in school, even though it was frustrating most days. I had to study the material and grasp the knowledge outside of school equally to the information given from the teachers. They can’t spoon feed us the answers but to be disciplined in your studies is the key to success. I was a full time student, full time mom and worked full time the ENTIRE time I was in school. I wouldn’t recommend that but if I can do it, anyone can pass as long as they stay committed. I graduated in April, studied the study plan Mrs. Salter provided and passed my NCLEX in May at 101 questions on the first try. School may be hard but it’s worth it in the end. Now I’m working at Baptist and enjoying being a Registered Nurse!"

"I went to Fortis in Westerville, they are extremely unorganized, some professors were good and cared about their students and some did not. I have received my diploma with the wrong name, still getting billed from a clinic they sent us to, to get our vaccination before clinicals when I was told it was taken care of and now I’ve been out of school for 5 months awaiting to test for my nclex and just found out that my documents were not submitted to the board of nursinfZ so that’s that."

"Be careful with fortis institute College they are trying to get your money. They are not giving you proper tools for Hesi. 70% of their nursing students are failing hesi because they are not preparing those students for the hesi exam just be aware. They are scamming students."

"This is the worst school I have ever attended! It is a waste of money, time, and effort. The selling point is how fast you will get your degree, but I wish that I would have really researched this school and stayed at PSC. I was doing great in all my classes, then life happened ( like they preach about in the beginning ), but let me finish! I lost the house I was living in because the owners filed bankruptcy. I had three days before the bank stepped in to move all my belongings and find a new home with my son (3 years old ) while working a full time position. I went straight to the director and told her exactly what was going on. I had two online classes and a class at the school. After expressing everything I asked if I could take off a semester so that I could find a place to live for me and my son. She looked at me and blankly said, “I’m sorry, but there’s nothing I can do for you.” There was no concern in her expression! Why? Because they really don’t care, all they care about is the money they will collect, because I can’t finish. I knew that nothing I was going to say would matter at that point. I will continue to tell everyone about my situation, luckily I have saved people so much money and time avoiding this SCAM of a school! Just look at the reviews! It speaks for itself."

"My advice is go to another school. They just except anyone into that school and then the instructors do not have time to tutor everyone ;its very expensive. Some of the instructors are very good some of the instructors are not. The copier is constantly breaking down they run out of paper the computers the laptops that they give you constantly have viruses on them not keeping up with the facilities"

"Let me start off by saying that there are some good teachers and administrators at Fortis that really care about their students success. Then we have those who do not but are more concerned about their own success. A good teacher always insures that their students are taught to the best of their ability and then assessed fairly and accurately. The problem is some of the instructors at Fortis dont know what that entails. Changing a test in order to make it harder so that students fail is totally unacceptable in the teaching profession. They tried that with the FCAT and all it did was keep good students from getting diplomas. That is why it no longer exists. If a student can pass the HESI exam and not the teachers exams then there is a problem with the teachers ability to create a test. Not all students learn and process the same way. When a teacher creates a test that has to be considered. We take a test to determine our learning styles but then we are all taught and assessed the same way. Whats the point? Also, nursing instructors should possess the ability to mentor every student in their class regardless of whether they are struggling or not. Teachers are not only measured by their successful students but also the students that fail. I think the instructors at Fortis need to ask themselves, did they do everything they could to help that struggling student? I know students who are having emotional breakdowns because of failing a class or getting kicked out of the nursing program. A few almost to the point of suicide. These are good students who study constantly but still fail classroom exams. Whose dreams are completely crushed by this program. As a teacher you never know who is in your classroom, it could be a journalist who is in there to write an expose or someone who can pull funding at a moments notice. Thats how every student should be treated with the highest regard. It is understood that not everyone is nursing material but who makes that judgement? The NCLEX will, not the teacher. Certainly not some teacher-created test. Your only job is to teach, not judge. Having integrity should be the ultimate goal of both teachers and administrators at Fortis. As I said there are some that do and there are some that simply do not. If the level of respect for students increases then Fortis can be the kind of school that is sought after and getting the type of accreditation that transfers to any college wont be a problem. Until that happens Forts will always be the school that students go to because they have to wait to get into PSC."

"Fortis College in Pensacola gave me the opportunity to discover what I was off capable of achieving. This college not only provided me with the knowledge that I needed to become a professional nurse but also gave a sense of being involved in a school in which the staff truly cares about your success. Instructors knew my name and would reach out to me if I was struggling. I have now graduated with my Master's Degree and I am able to provide for my family without worrying about the next paycheck. None of this would have been accomplished without the support and knowledge afforded to me from the staff at Fortis College in Pensacola. If you are thinking about attending a college and want to feel like you are more than just a number than you are looking in the right place."

"I wish I could go back and start my education at Fortis Institute (Pensacola). After wasting a year and a half on a waiting list at a State College, taking pre-requisite courses and being deferred even though I had a 3.65gpa and passed the entrance exam, I visited with admissions at Fortis and went straight into Nursing courses within 3 months! My Associate of Science in Nursing program is hybrid so I can take classes online and on-ground, which has allowed me to work some as a student. The career services department even helped me get a nurse intern position when I completed health assessments that was 100% flexible with my school schedule. I have had clinical assignments at Sacred Heart, Baptist, and West Florida Hospitals and have had numerous RNs tell me that they prefer Fortis graduates. Fortis maintains a 88-90% pass-rate for the NCLEX-RN and is ACEN accredited! All of my gen eds were transferred into Fortis and as I am nearly a graduate (Yay!) I have already spoken to Denver College of Nursing and Chamberlin College who accept 100% of my Fortis credits to go straight into my BSN. My only regret is not calling Fortis first."

"Turn away now! This school is ridiculous in its policies. Which are ever changing. You are scrutinized for trying to do the right thing and crucified. Double standards are in play with staff. I would never reccommend this to ANYONE.The instructors are ill prepared, and talk out both sides of their mouth. I truly believe the people there try to make you fail instead of succeed. Whike they preach holding themselves to a high standard... its all talk. Integrity they have none."

"This program is very poorly run. The professors do not have a clue about NCLEX and often times offer input that is completely false. Very difficult to work with. It's a waste of time and money. Passing rate on NCLEX is 45 percent. It honestly seems like most of the nurses that work here couldn't make it as a real nurse."

"The only reason why I am giving the instruction 5 stars is because the new instructors are amazing and they care but their hands are tied. Over half the nursing program is failing. We all spend long days and nights studying and reaching out for help. Everything is so last minute because they are so unorganized that it is just a headache. My expectations of nursing school was it would be challenging and hard. This program now is just impossible. I would never refer anyone here. When you spend 60 hours a week outside of class working on homework and studying and you are still failing that's a problem. You can answer questions all day long in class and none of it relates. some of the staff cares and the other just seem content on watching the majority of the students fail. you can start with a class of 30 and end with 2-4 students. For a change we would like to see our efforts pay off in our grades. When top students are failing there is a problem. this school is horrible save your money and go elsewhere. If you have family or a job kiss them goodbye the the length of the program. Nothing matters but the work they give and failing tests so you can repeat the class and eventually fail out of the program. Save yourself the time and money and just don't bother. The only reason I can't say this was the worst decision of my life is the few friends I will walk away with. I have never felt so lost or defeated in my life and had a school make you feel so dumb and stupid."

"Attending the Nashville Campus for RN school was the worst decision I have ever made. The tuition is over priced, the education is poor, the staff lacks passion, and each day you wake up wondering if your instructor will show up for your class. I truly never felt as if my success was a priority to the majority of my instructors. Even after graduating, when I thought I would feel some relief, they have delayed me with taking the Nclex exam by failing to inform me in a timely manner that my application had gone missing. I would not recommend this school to anyone, let alone a friend."
