I am a UC Berkeley graduate (2015) who returned to school at 40. I needed to move forward, and there was zero chance I was going to spend $50K - $100K+ for an MBA. I did a lot of researching and ultimately chose Grantham University. I received a ton of support, I was called all the time by my advisor to make sure I was OK, my emails and issues were resolved quickly, and I never had an real problem. I was able to do a compressed MBA in 1 year, and it was perfect for my needs and scope. People who do this kind of online degree program have to be mature, disciplined, self-starting, and organized. The bad reviews come from students who are not mature or academically ready to ensure their own academic success, and are blaming the University for their own failures. I highly recommend Grantham- BUT, you have to drive yourself, make yourself study, read the books, and get your value out of your educational process. No place for kids or whiners.
I graduated with MBA in 2017. Entrance into the school almost felt almost automatic and required a phone interview along with application, fee, and other supplemental documents such as any prior transcripts. There is a required 3 week Graduate Success course required and is taken in conjunction with another class. This is the only instance dual classes are required. My experience was great. I appreciated the relevance of the assignments and discussions. I also appreciate the additional value of interacting with other students and instructors. I am prior military and the military discount provided is great and worth inquiring about. As with any degree program, you get out what you put in. I recommend at least checking out Grantham University if interested in online education. Good luck!
this school is a gimmick. a flat out joke. they only do assignment that relate to your personal business. they never know nothing and send you in circles when you are trying to find out information about student accounts. they put you on accedemic probation for any and everything so they wont have to cash you out on student loans. this is the most unorganized place of business in the whole united states of america and their degree not worth the paper it is printed on
Before I started I was told I could begin on academic overload. Then the story was that I'd be able to after taking their fake 1 credit "college success class" that had no point and big brother written all over it. Then I had to complete another semester. Then the dean wouldn't approve academic overload because 3 days before the end of class with every assignment turned in and a 98% wasn't an actual "A" grade until the teacher issued it and he wanted to wait. So after 10 credits and a 4.0 GPA I was finally able to begin academic overload even though the academic counselors lied to me (and are impossible to reach if you have a problem) and the actual school standard is 6 credits. The next delay is that you can only take PRJ classes one at a time and they wont schedule (or didn't) schedule them paired with a regular class. So when all you've got left are the last four PRJ classes your forced to drop back out of academic overload "for your own good". They added literally months to the time its going to take to complete the degree program with their dean who can't rub two brain cells together and dishonest scheduling practice. If your ever able to reach them with a problem there is no actual solution they can offer. You just dance around fake answers until you realize they don't care and nothing is going to change.
FA is terrible at Grantham in the beginning we were taking two classes which was exciting to me then they started making us take one class so boring. FA officer says they disburse half of the student funds in the beginning of semester and the other half at the end of that semester it don't make since to me at all fa officer thinks your info went through the system automatically only to find out weeks later past your disbursement date that she needed to enter the info manually . I wish I never came to this hole in the wall. and I don't recommend that anyone attend here.
I earned both a bachelors and masters degree in nursing science through Grantham. Both experiences far exceeded my expectations. My instructors were available to offer guidance and spark new ideas. I felt very supported during both experiences. I also feel that I was well prepared for the real world and stepped in to a Director role, that without Grantham I would not have been able to do. This is not a university that spoon feeds their student, but teaches you how to utilize resources made available within the school and outside of the school.
They withhold your FSA I will not be returning next semester and I have been going for almost a year I am on the Deans list so I am not disgruntled about them not passing me, I need my money and they are late getting it to me I understand they make money on the interest but this is freaking ridiculous
The biggest thing that hurts my feeling is the lie the student advisor tells you so you will sign up for the college that online you are free to work at your own speed, but at the same time if the work it's turn in at a certain time, you are put out of Grantham and then they say wite a appeal to get back in it's not your fault just work on your time management,so you write all for them to tell you your grades are good but the dean feels as though the time is not right for you.Really so we all are women but because I am way smarter then you and my grades are better than yours were when you was in school and the sad part about it is every conversation I recorded it and every email I keep so I will post those as well
They say it is veteran friendly but they really are not! Staff is unhelpful and extremely disrespectruly. They do not help solve problems when they arise, ignore emails and phone calls and questions regarding status of text books. Overall horrible experience
School is what you make of it. Grantham is not Harvard, but if you're self-motivated and put forth the effort , you can earn a degree and learn many new skills that may help you in your career. I've used several of the topics covered in my business courses in my work. I have no regrets with attending Grantham.
