"Definitely a starting point, their motto is completely correct. If you start there, you will want to go ANYWHERE else. Unfortunately, they are the only college that offers the variety of classes they do nearby. I have pursued a few interests there, and I will say GCSC is all about the money, which most colleges are, but they will mislead you to believe you need certain classes when you don't, or that certain degrees are useful when they really aren't. Managed to work my behind off for one AS degree with the promise of many jobs with $X/hr min pay, when I got out the job market was not looking for that type of degree in my area and the jobs I could find were slightly above minimum wage. Stupid on my part for trusting a 'salesperson' I suppose and not doing my own research. I've had advisors tell me I shouldn't take certain courses because they didn't feel I would pass based on their own personal reasons (passed with the only A in the class btw), financial aid's left hand doesn't know what admission's right hand is doing 90% of the time. That being said, a lot of the instructors want to see you pass and are willing to put in effort to make sure you succeed if you meet them halfway. There are a few bad apples in every bunch (particularly in the Natural Sciences division), but for the most part the instruction is great. The school's main focus is on the nursing program, which is very evident until you actually try the nursing program and realize there's a few asinine 'rules' that will even test the patience of a saint (not me, I was frustrated a long time ago). Yes I have tried a few degrees. Yes I have finished them all. Yes I have been going to this college longer than some staff members have worked there. And yes, it is a constant uphill battle to try and get the things done that you need with the rabbit trails and misdirection, a 2 year degree will take you no less than 3 years there. Count on that."
