Degree: Medical Billing & Coding
Graduation Year: 2019

Started off great no problems but that soon changed, the school changed me to part time from full time with no warning to me and pushed my graduation date 3 months farther back from what it was originally now I am told I either have to pay out of pocket for my last simester or take out a private loan from the school because there is a gap in my financial aid which resulted from being switched to part time. When I questioned them about it they just said we make no mistakes. I will not take out a private loan from this school and now I have to drop out because I can not afford to pay out of pocket for schooling that I was told would be covered completely my my financial aid. This school is a joke they take your money screw you over and say nothing they do is wrong.

Degree: Veterinary Technician
Graduation Year: 2014

Although our instructors were great at the time I attended, the rest is not! I have been graduated (with the highest of high honors) for 4 years now and STILL have yet to land a job I was told there is a plethora of and not from lack of trying!! I am paying a huge debt for something that was a waste of my time and money. When there is a past instructor you had that wont even help you get a job......that says a lot about this institution! If I knew then what I knew now, there's no way, I would have went!! They build you up for letdowns. To get your money, IMO. I normally wouldn't say anything as its deemed unprofessional but, this is getting ridiculous and something needs to be said.

Degree: Information Technology
Graduation Year: 2017

During mid terms and finals there was no one to be found when Mind-Tap or Canvas broke down. The school advertises 24/7 help; not true. These tools would mark incorrect answers as correct, and visa versa. Papers I submitted were wrong on purpose, testing the instructors, I still got an A. Currently, I am still trying to get financial aid questions answered from a withdraw that took place last Sept 2017...its March 2018. I filed a complaint and audit request to the Dept of Education. If you want an education, don't waste your time at Harrison College. Harrison is a FOR PROFIT SCHOOL which explains why the students don't matter once the financial docs are signed. FASFA should not provide aid to FOR PROFIT SCHOOLS. In short, this experience was, and still is a NIGHTMARE!!!!

Degree: Technical Support
Graduation Year: 2016

Do not attend, please read all the negative reviews b/c they are very much true. Yes its a for profit school but might as well be another marketing scam. I got 3 different advisors for the 9 months I attended without my knowledge, I had to find out online about this. The advisors are basically sales people who get paid to convince you that this is the right decision regardless of your financial or personal situation. And of course No job placement support for online students either. I live in Chicago, why would you send me jobs that are based in Indiana and not even in the field Im trying to study for??? Thankfully I was able to find a job on my OWN and in my field without this stupid schools so called support smh. So now I'm $10,000 in debt because of this place so please be aware, a major scam.

Degree: Medical Assistant
Graduation Year: 2015

I would consider this place a joke. Even after graduating and 20k in student loans later, I got a bill a month or two after graduating that I "owed" them money. The school didn't bother to send it in as regular mail and was sent in as a "debt collect" mail, which looks bad on me even though I was never told I "owed" money. They're just hungry for money. I sure as hell am not paying $300/month on my student loans from an institution that's not in-it for the students.

Degree: Criminal Justice
Graduation Year: 2016

They signed me up under false pretenses. They said my courses from another college would transfer over after seeing the transcripts from previous college , which after signing up I had to retake the courses. They changed my concentration on me without my knowledge or approval. They said it was due to not enough people taking that concentration. I found this out on my own and was subjected to hostility and unprofessional people about the manner. Then they kicked me out and after I was no longer a student they accepted money in my name.

Degree: Criminal Justice
Graduation Year: 2014

Students are led to believe that the school compares with other top schools. This is far from the truth. Older students have a hard time of finding employment in their field of study, if at all. Students are not told up front that Harrison is a for profit business. If I had known I would never have went there. Students are encouraged to use their books and study guides when taking tests too! This does not benefit the student, but makes the school look good by producing passing grades. There are so many things wrong with Harrison College and it needs to be shut down. Students will never get out of debt with them and they claimed my Federal Loan ran out and wanted me to take out another one on top of that! The Criminal Justice program does not even have what is needed to learn.

Graduation Year: 2016

I cannot stress enough how terrible this school is overall. I had few teachers that I liked and learned from - this was from my time on campus. Online campus is a mess and they only offer the CJ BS online after initially stating they offered on campus. Turnover rate for Online is mind boggling, trying to figure out who you need to reach and for what. Trying to obtain help with online classes from the instructors was a task in itself. I owe a mortgage in student debt plus additional private loans I had to take out because I couldn't receive anymore student loans. The credits do not transfer and you are stuck at this school until you finish.

Degree: Human Resources
Graduation Year: 2013

Harrison College offered me the flexibility of campus or online classes. They worked with me every step of the way throughout my degree. I never felt alone, lost or confused when studying or preparing for an exam. Without Harrison College, I am not sure I would have been as successful in my career as I am now.

Degree: Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist
Graduation Year: 2013

I will start out by saying when I visited this college, my intent was to start the Nursing program. I was told that I was not able to apply for this program due to the fact that I had no experience in the medical field, so I chose to go forward with the Medical Assisting program. About 3/4 into the program I got pregnant with my son and was put on bed rest so I decided to switch to the Medical Reimbursement Technology program because it was completely online. When I visited the college to tell them that I intended on changing majors, I had told them I had originally wanted to do Nursing but was told that I could not due to lack of experience. Come to find out that was not true at all. Not only was I very upset that I could have been 3/4 of the way finished with the Nursing program I was also outraged that I had wasted so much money on a degree I really did not want in the first place. I had decided to just suck it up, finish the degree I was working on, and then go back for my Nursing degree. When the time came to do my externship I had hoped I would actually be learning or shadowing someone on medical billing and coding (considering that is what my degree was in), but instead they had us working on returned mail!! My externship was a complete waste of time and gas money considering I had to drive 45 minutes a day one way 4 times a week. Also, they only taught us ICD-9 coding when ICD-10 was going to be implemented very soon. I would not recommend Harrison College to anyone. It was a waste of time and tuition, fees, books, etc. were completely outrageous. If I could go back and research other schools more and what I was getting myself into I would in a heartbeat.
