"The quality of education is very high - the professors know their subjects, and the student to faculty ratio is rather low, meaning professors are available and willing to help. Mudd graduates are in high demand since the universities and businesses that actually know about the school know that it produces very well-prepared graduates. The educational standards are very high, but they're fair; you will work very hard just to get a B, but you'll feel you've earned it since not that much of the class is getting A's. The student community is fantastic - everyone is very supportive of each other and actively works to help the community."

"The three phrases I would use to describe Harvey Mudd are "very challenging", "rewarding", and "community". Even coming from a top private high school, the workload at Mudd was significantly heavier, the breadth of required subjects was much greater, and the projects I worked on were much harder and complicated than anything I had experienced. I don't count that as a negative, though. I was pushed beyond what I would have thought myself capable of, and I graduated knowing so many things I had never imagined I would learn. I did it alongside a fantastic group of fellow students who helped each other succeed. I've heard that many top schools are cutthroat; Harvey Mudd is the exact opposite, with collaboration not only encouraged but actively taught in things such as the Clinic Program. I never once felt like I was competing with others, and I know that none of us would have succeeded without the deep network of friends we made."

"Harvey Mudd College is a great college if you know what you want to study, but don't want to limit yourself to a narrow technical field. The wide curriculum exposes you to many topics and ways of thinking, which will help you to be creative and interdisciplinary. As a science major, I benefitted a lot from the theoretical, computational, and composition skills that are taught at Harvey Mudd."
