"Hastings College Teacher Education is an exceptional program for students who are considering to be educators as their career. I think the department is exceptional in two ways. First, the staff is a group of dedicated, experienced individuals who are with you every step of the way. The second reason this program is wonderful is that it is difficult. The faculty pushes you to be the best you can every day. They give you challenges and help guide and assist you with those challenges. I performed my student teaching as a long-term substitute teacher and it was quite the challenge. My professor knew that I was capable and she assisted me with the challenges and difficulties. I am so blessed to have graduated from such an amazing institution. They are small but mighty, and they will always hold a special place in my heart."

"Very good student to teacher ratio leads to a lot of one on one interactions and even sma group teaching settings. Small campus means everyone is in your social circle which is fun, but it can also be intimidating since everyone knows you. All in all, I would not change a thing about my experience."

"Hastings College is an outstanding liberal arts college located in central Nebraska. With a student population of approximately 1,200, the campus is a tight knit community where students can learn, grow, and explore. With a low student to faculty ratio, students receive individualized attention in the classroom, as well as an exceptional education. Hastings truly is a hidden gem in the Midwest!"

"Great school. Forward thinking courses with caring and experienced staff. Located in a small town so the "college lifestyle" is somewhat to be desired, but it maintained its own spirit and produced quality relationships with peers."

"This graduate program provided me with the opportunity to network with teachers and administrators in the community from the first class I took in the program. That is one of the main benefits because when I applied for a job, I already had people in my corner and was hired before graduation. By spending time observing classrooms, students graduate knowing what to expect as a new teacher. I knew I wanted to teach and impact students but I had a difficult time choosing an endorsement area. The professors at Hastings College took such an interest in my future and knew me so personally that they could guide me to the area that I would be most successful in. I am currently teaching ESL at the middle school in town and I owe that to my wonderful professors guiding me down this path. I also had the opportunity to teach in Belize for three weeks during my first year in the program. Hastings College prides itself in immersing students in other cultures and diversifying our experiences. It is not easy on the wallet to graduate from a private liberal arts college, but Hastings was well worth it for my career."
