I attended this college online. Got a nice laptop. Teachers are wonderful and I leaned a lot. However, you DO NOT receive any financial aid back. I attended the graduation in Salt Lake City, Utah and it was awful. Very lame. They didn't even offer us anything to eat and it was very unorganized. Plus, they have not helped me find a job.

First let me say this to ALL that is reading this post. This is the worst school I ever attended. I graduated in November 2016, this university gave me the run around. When I started at IU they baited me in to make me think, once I finished my life would change. I am in more debt then what I started with! The degree seems as it is neve recognized any where in the universe. I have been back and forth with this school to get assistant with finding a job it is the same bs everytime I call. I have did... If you were to ask me a year ago about the possibility about going back to school to get an higher education, i probably would of laughed at the idea thinking that it was impossible. But after talking over the phone to the Admission's at Independent University in September it was impossible to let the opportunity fly by me. They made the impossible, possible. They helped take the fuss out of applying and just made things feel like it was possible. I have never met a better school administration that... Read More

Learned their RT program was on probation and then learned they werent fully accredited as they say they are. I dropped 4 classes in when I realized what was going on and ended up owing a lot of money with classes that of course wouldnt transfer. Please dont make the same mistake I did and be very sure you know about EVERYTHING before making your decision to go here. I dropped and joined a school close by thats much cheaper and less time and am making the schedule work.

I am a current online student and I just want everyone to know, this is the BEST UNIVERSITY to attend!!. I highly recommend them, they are honest, efficient and it's an accelerated program where you can get your degree and work in your required field. I have really enjoyed my experience here, I love it and I want to see more and more people pursuing their degrees through Independence University. They are the BEST and I truly mean that. I wouldn't try any other university!!!

I want to make it clear that I do not recommend this school to anyone. Especially not anyone who is attending college for the first time. I made a big mistake by enrolling. CL, if that's even his real name, told me I would have to pay anything and that my financial aid covered everything. Lies!!!!!!!!! They have me signed up for loans I didn't even know I was getting. Then, took my pell grant for the tuition they said I didn't even owe. I'm not even sure how many thousands of dollars I owe as of... Read More

Loved this school. I never would have finished the traditional route. I received tons of support, help, guidance and great teaching. This degree took me out of my dead-end job into a a management job with an insurance agency. No more working per hour, but a salaried position with benefits. The degree cost more than the local route, but I finished in half the time doing classes from home. No way I would have finished locally in less than 6 years, and this took a little over 2. I highly recommend this... Read More

I am a very proud recent graduate of Independence University where I earned my business degree through hard work. I am also eternally grateful that I did not read all of the reviews prior to enrolling because it could have cost me a great experience. Reviews are personal experiences, with some amount of bias. It is our personal opinion, expressed. My personal experience with IU was great from the start. My advisor remained in contact with me and responded to all of my questions with courtesy and... DO NOT ATTEND! Independence University is a subsidiary of StevensHenager College which is part of a growing whistleblower lawsuit against their Utah-based system of nonprofit colleges and is expected to expand due to a federal judge declining to toss the suit. In addition to this, Independence University is ONLY ACCSC accredited. This accreditation is a national accreditation that recognizes that they are a trade school and therefore are not recognized by ANY higher-education University if you wish... Read More

How can you expect to learn hands on skills at an on-line college? Should have asked myself that $40,000 ago!! Diploma mill in order to meet accreditation requirements. You are not a student or a person...you are a dollar sign. Stay away. Only recommend people that you hate. The bills are rolling in, and there is no job in sight. I have actually been laughed at.

I've been jobless sense then and have been calling weekly and emailing weekly begging for career services advisers to help me with my resume, job applications and more. After being at three other online schools I was amazed at the level of communication I received from teachers and staff. They clearly wanted to help me succeed. Although not perfect, they certainly do their best to stay in contact. The courses were challenging, the instructor interaction was great.

To be honest, I have no complaints about the curriculum but the advisors and so called Deans are the absolute WORST!!! They misguide and misinform you all through out the courses. They all have conflicting information and overall you are left to pay the price. They will not let you know if you fail a course or what their academic standards are. They want you to fail overall and as soon as you do they do not want to work with you. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL!!! THEY WANT YOU TO FAIL!!! IF YOU VALUE... Read More

Best decision I ever made. Before attending IU I was having a hard time finding a job that would support myself and my family. I had always wanted to work in the medical field, but couldn't even get my foot in the door. From the time I called in to talk to admissions through my graduation the staff and faculty have been amazing. I felt like they really cared about me as a person, not just a number. It was hard at times and a lot of work, but I did it and my family and I are so happy that I did. It... Read More

I began the MBA in September. Let me just note that I have been to several online universities before and always felt a disconnect. You are basically on your own! Not with IU. I can say with confidence that this is the highest quality of online education I have personally experienced. Let me also note that this is my second master's degree. I immediately knew IU would be different because of my experience in the beginning. People always reaching out to see how I am doing. It means a lot. Also, the... Read More

I started IU in 2013 and will complete my BA in December, 2016. I can honestly say this has been the best experience. I have learned a great deal about the business world. The instructions and the administrative staff work with you and are there to help you stay on track. With each mod/class I took, I found the information useful in my current job and in my personal life.

I really appreciate the staff that worked with me to get into the school! Very friendly and willing to help at a moments notice! Very detailed degree program that will get you ready for the rest of your life! Instructors are very knowledgeable and they give very good advice on what to do when you get out! Also my academic advisor was always trying to keep in touch to see how I was doing, they don't get you in the school and leave you out to dry.
