"A lot of the professors were retired professionals whose knowledge was transferrable from older, obsolete media. While general concepts were taught, a lot of the information wasnt directly transferrable to contemporary media and business strategies. Additionally, political ideology of said professors always seemed to find its way into discussions, creating unnecessary division amongst the class and created tension not conducive to thoughtful conversation. Overall, I was able to learn from their experiences and apply to my own skills. But those skills ended up taking me into a career in technology skills, not necessarily even related to my degree or courses I took. In essence, the media school taught me more about what I didn't want to pursue in media than helping me find my actual passion in media."

"Overall Indiana University is a pretty great college to attend. Being one of the largest colleges in the United States, students have access to a ton of resources from career services, to mentors, to numerous clubs to join. Despite its size it's fairly easy to find a place for yourself if you put in the effort. Their Religious Studies program is top notch with specialized professors spanning the entire gamut of religious beliefs. Unfortunately, outside of someone looking to go to graduate school, I cannot recommend a student getting a degree in, frankly, any of the humanities at this university outside of maybe journalism. If you want to get a job immediately after college, I would recommend students applying for SICE (School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering) or the Kelley School of Business. SICE is doing some interesting things right now with emerging technology and the Kelley School is well known for creating talent like Mark Cuban."

"Indiana University is among the best places to study in the country. While you will first be stricken by the outstanding beauty of the university, which has received numerous awards, you will stay for the academic quality that is comparable to the best institutions. Many faculty care about the student's development and will build personal relationships with you as you grow as a student. The technological presence of the university is also top-notch, and the array of academic programs offered will allow everyone to follow their specific passion. Getting involved is a much, whether it be as small as a student organization, or as large as a collaboration with a major company."

"The speech and hearing sciences program is very good at keeping you informed on what classes are required in order to graduate. They have a good selection fo classes that are very fun and interesting to take. I also found it easy to get observation hours where you watch a speech pathology session and get it signed off that you observed it. For a masters in this field, you need a certain number of observation hours."

"I absolutely loved Indiana University. It is a beautiful campus with some amazing professors. I had advisors who would answer any question I had about the degree I chose and they were more than willing to help me make sure I got the classes I needed in the right order. I also loved how Indiana University would offer fun classes that you probably would never take had it not been offered. For example I took ballroom dance and metalsmithing and a class on Indiana folk art. I learned so much about not just my field, but things that genuinely interested me."

"I greatly enjoyed my time and my social experience at Indiana University Bloomington- I would not trade that experience for anything. However, that experience did not have any impact on my future career path, career opportunities, or future earning potential. I received my most valued career and work experience through internships that were self sought after and that I did not receive credit for."

"It was everything I could have wanted and more. The campus was that from a movie with beautiful historic architecture and a magical forest in the center of campus. The classes exceeded my expectations and always had me wanting more. I am grateful that I did a major in psychology with a minor in music. The opportunities on campus were never ending. If I had the chance to do it all over again, I would. The community in Bloomington, IN is what sets it apart from other campuses. I was fortunate enough to have obtained several jobs while working towards my degree. Those jobs allowed me the opportunity to create long lasting relationships in the community that I will never forget."

"I had an amazing experience at Indiana. Bloomington is a great place to live and study. The quality of my classes was exceptional, especially after I completed the general education requirements and began working on my upper level courses that focused specifically on my major(s ). I received excellent counseling, and years after receiving my degree, I still remain in contact with several of my professors who are now my academic peers."

"I graduated from Indiana University with double majors (Business Process Management and Islamic Finance) and double minors (Economics and International Studies). The Islamic Finance degree was not officially offered as a formal major. I proposed the curriculum under the auspices of the Individualized Major Program (IMP) and the Department of Religious Studies. Since both my majors were granted from different schools (Kelley School of Business and College of Arts & Sciences), I obtained a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts. Careful planning would make it possible to finish the two degrees in four years as most requirements for both programs can be fulfilled concurrently. However, it took me an extra year due to my previous transfer from another university. Total credits I had accomplished were more than 140, but that was because there were credits from my prior university which did not fulfill any requirements. The business degree program came with two career development courses which proved to be very valuable down the road during my career. Unfortunately, the career service did not prove to be very useful. Maybe they are not designed for international student in mind. As one-fifth of the student body consist of international student, the office should have brought more international student-friendly employers to campus. Please be aware that it had been more than ten years since I graduated so the programs may change. Please check with the admission. The alumni office actively engaged with alumni despite my club reside in southeast Asia. I appreciate the engagement as they brought together alumni in my country regardless of their graduation classes a camaraderie that ranges from dinner parties, alumni outreach, and even to educational partnerships with local universities."

"The Kelley School of Business is highly ranked and rightfully so. I had an amazing four years with so many opportunities to get involved around campus, volunteer in the community, and work in teams to address complex business cases. An added bonus to a great education at a reasonable cost: Bloomington being one of the most beautiful college town you'll see."

"I specifically chose the Journalism school at Indiana University for it's program. Although the classes were very informative, they were not adapting to the progressive times and the advancement of technology. Journalism students were not allowed to minor or take telecommunication classes due to strict policy. As of now, the Journalism school has been unfortunately retired. Overall, wonderful school, but very large. Class sizes vary on headcount so intimacy with instructors varies."

"Choosing to attend Indiana University in Bloomington was one of the best decisions of my life. I spent four amazing years here that I will truly never forget. The campus is absolutely gorgeous and well maintained, full of history, and the programs available are nationally recognized. The libraries, computer labs, science labs, and the Union were all great resources for me to use during my undergraduate career. I truly believe that my time, money, and effort were all well spent here. While there are many students attending IU (~40,000), Bloomington has a great small town feel, so it is not too overwhelming."

"When considering my college choices, I went on 7 different campus visits, but none came close to my experience at Indiana University. I knew that IU was a good school, but I had no idea how good of a school that it actually was. I was blown away at the number of nationally recognized programs and faculty that call Bloomington home. Having a highly ranked school in my content area was important to me, and Indiana University gave me plenty of options. What excited me most, however, was the number of opportunities that presented themselves along with the academics. There are almost too many clubs and extracurricular activities to choose from. At the risk of sounding clich, there is something for everybody. I got involved with the student radio station, worked with the local church ministries, played on three intramural teams, and met my future wife...and that was just freshman year! My advisor kept me feeling confident and focused on my course direction, while my professors kept me engaged and motivated. I have nothing but good things to say about Indiana University and I know you will feel the same way. If you want more proof, go take a visit."

"Indiana University, at the Indianapolis campus, had a decent educational program, but the students were not particularly brilliant nor participatory in the classroom setting. The best thing was that the Indianapolis campus offered lots of opportunities to get hands-on experience with summer internships."

"IU's MSA program through the Kelley School of Business was a great masters program and I learned a lot of more in depth accounting knowledge. It was also nice to work with students from a whole variety of backgrounds, ethnicities, and viewpoints. If you need more credits to sit for the CPA exam and want to do something that will help your future too then this program is for you !"

"Really was not worth the out of state cost. Most of my "professors" were Ph.d students, which I would not have minded had they been more secure in the knowledge they were attempting to teach. Often if someone posed question they would need to "verify" their answer and then would forget to ever get back to class. Quality of learning was not worth the amount of tuition. Had no advisor for half of my time there because my initially assigned one retired mid-year. Very little support for students. But the actual professors there are quite knowledgeable and helpful."

"College is a place that you go to gain skills to enter a specific area of the workforce. It is most effective when a student enters with a specific goal in mind. It also important to choose a school that is both affordable with high academic expectations and academic support."
