"Avoid ITT Technical Institute like the plague. In the time that I have been a student there (2011 - Present), I have seen 5 Deans, 2 Associate Deans, a registrar that is not certified, a career services that has only placed students in low level call centers (answering phones, not doing IT networking). This school has proved to be nothing more than a diploma mill. The quality of education and value of the diploma have been vastly overstated. Some of the student body are not qualified to hold a high school diploma, much less an Associates or Bachelors degree. Seriously, one student asked an instructor "What is Google?"."

"Here is a little story about ITT Tech. My best friend and I both liked programming. He decided to go to ITT Tech. I decided to go to a state university. We both got bachelor degrees in Computer Science, his from ITT Tech, and mine from a real university. That was five years ago. I work as a software engineer at a nice company and support a family and kids off of that salary. He works nights at doing manual labor at a pipe-making company pouring molten iron. He lives with his parents and gets paid about $12 an hour. Case in point, don't waste your time at ITT Tech. He learned nothing and the degree is worthless."

"I graduated from ITT Tech with an AS in software development technology. This has been the best decision I have ever made. Before ITT I would read books on software engineering and computer programming but it really didn't make sense to me. After taking the intro to programming class it all became clear. The teachers were helpful, knowledgeable, and very patient with their students. Because of my degree and knowledge I obtained from ITT I landed a job as a Data Analyst/Application Developer for a Realtor association 3 months before I even graduated. Do not think that ITT will just hand you a job on a silver platter, I did the school work but even went beyond the required work, I practiced coding all day and read as many books on software development as I could. Before I landed my job I started looking a year in advanced for programming positions in my career field. The only thing I have noticed that you are limited on is where you can transfer your degree. I have started my BS at Strayer University who agreed to accept my entire degree from ITT Tech and the good thing is they are regionally accredited. As far as student loans go, well I wouldn't know about that, I joined the US Navy when I was 20 years old, not only did the military pay my tuition, I actually got paid to go to school. When I asked my boss why did he hire me out of all the others who applied his exact words were "because you went to the military got the experience in IT and obtained your degree." Its all about what you make of your life you can either can blame someone else for the path you choose in life or you can take control of your own destiny."
