"ITT Tech is a trade school. It's not, and probably never will be an accredited college. When you get your diploma and go out into the work force trying to land a job you will find out that employers do not look at ITT as a Univeristy and you will be told that they're not looking for applicants with a trade school diploma!! 4yrs and $30,000 later it was too late for me! I finally landed a job and Best buy repairing small laptops and TVs. That was over 20yrs ago. I've heard not much has changed at ITT except they offer more classes. I eventually went back and earned a real accredited bachelor degree from Devry University and that got me into the door a of a great company making a 6 figure income."

"I recommend you stay FAR FAR away from this school..I wouldn't suggest it to even a person I hate..This school will lie to your face promising you all these things you achieve..the people there may be nice but personality can only get you so far..I signed up for this school with the hopes and dreams to learn how to make games and do coding..and let me tell you,you will never touch any of those subjects. There books are OLD givingyo u obsolete information..it's like there stuck in a time warp..half my teachers there didn't even have a degree in the field they were trying to teach me...i mean what can a soon to be shrink have to teach me about coding? NOTHING..It felt more like a personal development class where we would just talk about ourselves and our emotions...i refused to go into debt for a school that teaches me nothing..plz plz stay far away from this school..its like someone offering a dead bird to you in exchange for money..you will learn NOTHING"

"I wish I had made different choices when preparing to go back to school as an adult. Yes the degree from ITT has got my foot in the door at several points along my career progression. This is due to the hard work I put into job searches. Most places I applied turned me away due to my technology degree. No one in the business world has heard of a bachelor degree in project management. Which sometimes helps when asked about it in interviews. This school is a joke in the electronics and in the business industry. The accrediting bodies don't even recognize ITT. The Project Management Institute that wrote the book the project management course uses doesn't even list ITT as an approved school. No other school will take any credits earned from ITT. The career services department has no plan to help students with any professional degree plan. They are great at finding entry level tech jobs that don't require a degree. If you want to set yourself up for success, find a good state school with available classes. If you cannot get into a four year state school, go to community college and transfer later."

"You will get as much out of this school as you put into it. I worked a full time job and attended school full time in the evenings. I completed my AA and BS consecutively. It's simple, do your do diligence before singing the dotted line. Make the choice that is best going to benefit YOU! There are a lot of things I dislike about ITT, but I will never sit on my butt like most and blame ITT for my un-successful ability to move forward and achieve a career. All of our situations are different, I understand that but we all have a common virtue to succeed. If you haven't figured out what it is, there is no one else to blame but yourself. Good luck!"

"School is what you make of it, but this school was just bad. bad teachers and bad classes. Teachers don't teach and most of them don't seem to care if you are learning or not. As long as you attend every class you are guaranteed a passing grade, regardless if you do your work or not. The school gets paid for student attendance and that is what matters to them. Their degree is not accepted at all in 90% of companies out there. You basically spend 75k (4 years) for something worthless. then come the bills and student debt. Sally Mae and now Navient will chase you down and garnish your wages if you don't pay this high interest loans. There is a group in FB that is fighting to get this school under like Everest and Corinthians. Look them up, ITT warriors its the name. Currently we need signatures and stories to be send to the department of ED, but the deadline is 4/7/16. Get your chance in to get back at this shady school."

"I received my AS in Networking System Administrator from ITT Tech in 2016 and went straight into the BS for Information System CyberSecurity. I had my concerns when I first started because of all the mixed reviews and lots of negative ones as well but I knew I needed to take a chance and find out for myself if this school was for me. I agree that things don't always work at ITT and the material is more on the out dated side then up to date but dealing with technology and how fast it changes not school can keep update to date. I have encountered the majority of my professors caring about teaching and wanting to help, this I know is not the same in every location and you can encounter bad schools or bad professors anywhere you go. My ITT Tech stayed on top of finding jobs for students but the problem is the student has to respond and be ready for an interview and ready to jump into a career not a job. I found that most of the time students not getting jobs fell on them and not the school. I received a job opening about 6 months after attending ITT Tech and responded right away. I was put in connect with the hiring manager and setup an interview. This job was a paid internship with the government in the IT field. I got the job and after a year was hired on full time with great pay. I love my job and I know that I would not have found this job at that time on my own. I understand the school may not be the greatest but it help me out in a major way and provided a career with great pay and endless opportunities. Not everything will always work out the same for everyone and you the individual needs to be ready for what you are seeking out in life and willing to put the time and effort in to get it."

"The college is a joke. I have instructors teaching English but don't speak it, teaching Linux but openly admit they have never used it or experienced it aside from what the book says, and teachers who give grades for nothing. For example, I submitted a paper with the following "Hello, my name is Jerid" Copy and pasted for 5 pages. I got a 100% on that. My courses are all online based, and I needed help in my college math. I drove to the campus in Grand rapids some 45 miles away, only to be told I need to leave and seek help via online tutors as the campus is not allowed to assist me. Now im dealing with a death in the family, and while arranging funeral related events I have neglected my course work. The instructors response, "You are not busy 24 hours out of the day. You need to better micro manage your time and get me your assignments." Seriously? This school or atleast the online only version of it is pure rubbish. I wish I never started it because while my aim is IT Cyber security, I have found that we learn entry level nothing. I know basic coding, have a masters certificate in Hardware, and ever microsoft operating system from Windows 95 to Windows 10, but they count for nothing. My military training, counts for nothing. My former college credits including core class credits count for nothing. My employer does not recognize this "Nationally" accredited college due to past issues of document falsification so there is no ED assist grants for that. The federal Government (My ultimate goal or career path) no longer recognizes the cyber security program from this school. I feel really lied to and mislead. So far its cost me around $15,000 and im not sure how to get away from that."

"What an awful school! Their curriculum is completely outdated and I didn't learn a single thing here that I didn't already know. The instructors are completely clueless and just read out of the books. They read out of the incorrect books with many errors. You will actually leave this school dumber than you were when you entered. They will completely mess up your entire future by putting you into $60,000 for a useless associate's degree. Employers won't hire you with ITT Tech on your resume. Everyone by now knows that this school is a complete scam. Just don't do it. Do your research on this school and you will find nothing but trouble. Thanks ITT Tech in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for ruining mine and thousands of other peoples futures!"

"The first time I attended this school was hands on at an actual school. Since I was already aware that my credits didn't transfer to any other school, I waited and went back to them last year, 2015 to work towards my bachelors. Needless to say I started on the 7th but wasn't allowed to actually log into my classes until the 9th. All along I kept asking my advisor which classes would I start with, due to the fact that I didn't want to take on a major load of classes right before Christmas. Never could answer that question, and poof on the 9th my classes were loaded..........all core classes. Ridiculous. Then we went on Christmas break on the 20th, after having a death in the family over the holidays I couldn't get in contact with my advisor to let him know what was going on. Time and time again, I would tell him not to call me at work, but he would and of course when I tried to return the call no answer. LOLOL, just got a letter in the mail that I need to pay $75 in 5 days or risk being turned over to a collection company. Guess this is why they are part of the colleges that are being investigated now. Yes I have my Associates from here, but believe me it did nothing to help me, but didn't realize this until it was too late. Please do you "homework" and research before locking yourself into this school."

"I graduated from ITT in 2002 with an AAS in Computer Networking Technologies. This allowed me to enter the networking and telecommunications industry. Within 5 years I was a senior consultant with a regional IT consulting firm in the Rocky Mountain region. Now I'm a CIO for a mid size community bank making a very good salary. I'll admit that the courses were not super challenging as I graduated with a 4.0, but the experience and knowledge gained from my instructors was paramount. Each of them worked in the field and were eager to pass on the knowledge they had gained from their experiences. I had children at a young age before the time of online courses, so the university and community college were not an option for me. In my experience, most of the students were there for the degree, not the knowledge being imparted by the faculty. Reading these reviews only enforces the strong feeling I had 15 years ago that most of the people that attend these schools will not be successful. However, if one does embrace the knowledge being imparted and actually learn and understand their field of study, you can be successful with a degree from ITT Technical Institute. The biggest complaint I have is about the expense. My two year degree was close to $50,000, I'm glad it paid off."

"I attended to the school from 2013-2015. They kept telling me would graduate sooner than 2015 based on my transcripts. There are a few things that irritated me with this school. One was that they weren't offering Graphic Design classes when I started because they kept saying they didn't have enough students to start the program. So I ended up having to take classes I didn't particularly need. Another thing that seemed to be ongoing throughout my time at the school was that the financial aid department never seemed to be on the same page. I was told when I got accepted that my financial aid would cover my time at the school, but when I was about to graduate I found out that I had gotten a 3rd party loan somehow. The school wouldn't let me graduate unless I signed my name to a form saying I would pay it back. Come to find out, I accumulated about 30k in students loans. When I signed up for financial aid I did tell them I wanted any left over money to go back into my financial aid account but it seems to be that what was leftover seemed to disappear into thin air. I shouldn't have accumulated that much in loans considering I had transcripts from another school. Also, the career services lady at my campus just sucked. I had a total of 2 calls from her after I graduated telling me about jobs that had nothing to do with my degree. All in all this school is a waste of time. They don't show you how to do as much as other schools do as far as graphic design programs go and they certainly don't care about helping their students out wit finding jobs like they promised."

"Instead of complaining about just the negatives of this school, I will give a review from a person who actually finished a degree at this school. First, the good. I learned a lot from the teachers here, who ALL came from the field in which they were teaching. The teachers do care about the students who put forth effort in their education. It is not difficult school if you read your text, do your homework, and do the extra work in the classes. The large number of people who dropped out of class, as mentioned in other reviews, were people who did not really try. They would skip class, not ask questions, and complain about everything like the one star reviews here. I did not get a job in the specific field I was looking into from this degree, but my education here did lead me into a very well paying job that is taking care of me and my family, so I am very appreciative of the education I received at this school. Now the bad. Yes they are accredited, but they never tell you that if you tried to transfer your credits to another school that 99% of the schools out there won't take them. Granted they are very specific field classes that no other school has, so it should have been a little more obvious. They are expensive. I finished after less than two years with $31K in loans, and that was with a quarter and a half of credits transferred from community college (they at least take other schools credits). I am still paying them off now in 2016. The "career center" was not helpful in the electronics field. The head of that part of the school changed probably three or four times while I was there and the only electronics jobs they ever posted was for soldering circuit boards for $12/hr. Sorry but I would never pay of $31k in loans with that job. For what is out there, in my area, for electronics, they were probably the best I could get. Like I said earlier, I learned a lot, graduated with high honors, and wouldn't change that experience. The staff was helpful in every way, and you can't fault them for doing the best with what they have to work with. I think the system of the school is flawed though because I even heard the teachers complain about how they were scheduled. It must be bad when teachers complain to their students about their working conditions. But what job is truly perfect in every way."

"I currently attend the school and from what I see people do drop out frequently I started with 25 people in class now down to 11. The teaching methods do semi suck because there is a lot of work in this school. As for people saying its a scam I think they are simply the ones who could not handle the workload. This school is basically like life it's all about who you know and if you doing good then I'm pretty sure that they will actually help you. I mean why would they give someone a job who flunked half their classes?"

"I have read some horrible reviews on ITT, but let me start off by saying my class started off as over 50 students and ended with 8. I believe most of these bead reviews are from students who could not keep up with the difficult program. Sure you do not want to go to ITT for anything else other than technology related, after all this is why the school is in existence. I think a degree is any field other than technology is a waste of time and a big money maker for ITT. Many of my classmates were graduating students from well known universities and local colleges and they said the Electronics program at ITT was more difficult than their previous studies."

"ITT Tech is like anything else in life. You get out of it what you put into it. I graduated in 1999 from Houston campus. We had some excellent teachers, and we had some OK teachers. There was a very high dropout rate because many people underestimated the commitment necessary to graduate. It isn't a cheap solution, and it doesn't guarantee a job. I graduated 16 years ago and I am now making around 6 figures. Here is what I got for my money: 1. debt - this will happen with any school. If you don't commit to the school and dropout, you will get debt without a degree - not smart. 2. job - After graduation, I spent 2-3 months looking for a job. ITT helped me work on my resume (they also help you find a job while attending school as they don't want you to drop out). ITT provided my resume to employers (Employers contact ITT for recent graduate lists). ITT helped me with interviewing skills, and I got my job through this placement service provided by them. 3. Hands-on experience. I work with a lot of Electrical Engineers, none of them know Electronics like I do. EET doesn't immediately make you an Engineer, it makes you a Technologist. You can develop into an Engineer, you can develop into a consultant, or you can immediately become a technician or Field Service Engineer. 4. Balanced education - They have Written and Oral Communications classes as well as Success Orientation classes. This isn't vocabulary or English 101. This is how to communicate effectively and interpret other's communication. This is where many other schools fall short. 5. Future job help - contact your local office. Tell them where you graduated. They will help you. If you have worked hard and have a good resume, you will get another job in your field. ITT isn't a get-rich quick method. It is a service you can buy that will give you a way to find a career, as long as you completely commit and try really hard. If you don't graduate, all you get is debt. You need to work very hard or else you are wasting your time at any school."

"Please whatever you do... do not go to this school. It will not make you more employable. It will ruin your life, seriously. Do yourself a favor and apply to your local community college, degrees there are a quarter of the price. Also for scale a 4 year university is 1/2 the price of itt. Itt-tech doesn't even have degrees. They have pieces of paper with the word degree on it, but that doesn't mean it's a degree. If I put the word potato on a duck, does it make it a potato? The facility does not care about their job or helping their students. The administration specializes in marked up predatory loan. The Army's Ranger school has a higher graduating class percentage than itt-tech's degree programs. They both have one thing in common to make you fail. If you don't believe me: check out John Oliver report on student loan debt. Also look at the lawsuits that are currently (and past) going against them. The only lesson that I learned is from itt-tech is to never trust a company. Stay away from factitious for-profit schools."

"I went to ITT years ago. Although it was expensive I did gain a lot out of it. OUR graduating class started with 100+ students but 15 graduated in my class. I Am currently working in one of the most respected companies in the WIRELESS industry now, over 15 years. Straight out of school ITT placed me in a Military contracting company specializing in Microwave systems. I mention this because, what you get from a school, work or the military is what you put into it. We also had a teacher who was not cutting it, the students took action and requested a new teacher, the school responded and replaced the teacher immediately. I had hard time getting to class and was put on academic probation several times. BUT I managed to get my butt moving and get it together. Yes some companies don't recognize this school, In my opinion your resume, how you carry yourself, back up your skills and handle interviews nails you the job. It's you."
