Degree: Human Services
Graduation Year: 2012

Having to attend school online was difficult at first and it took some getting used to. I had to adjust my schedule and my lifestyle but Kaplan's Administration was always there to help. As a Veteran I had an assigned counselor for all my specific issues, to include the GI Bill nightmare. All the staff was always helpful and knowledgeable. I had applied to other schools but this one was the once that surpassed my needs.

I was bounced out of my class because they draw you in on false pretenses. I would not advise this school. I worked really hard for nothing but a ten thousand dollar debt. Colleges should not be able to rope people into debt. If they say you pay nothing till you graduate then they need to honor it.

I loved Kaplan! The workload was manageable and I was able to realistically manage my time between work and school. Kaplan has since been acquired by Purdue University Global and have adopted their standards and educational structure. The workload has increased since, but I have no complaints because a lot of Purdue's curriculum is heavily project based. This mean's you're applying everything your learning into real projects that can be used to build a portfolio. This also ensures that you're achieving the set learning objectives. Kaplan did not have this same structure. SO it's safe to say all of the things that I'm now learning are actually sticking and I'm able to apply it to my current role within my career. I couldn't ask for a better school.

Graduation Year: 2018

I attended Kaplan University online (now Purdue Global) for both my Bachelor's and Master's degree. I truly enjoyed this school. The professors are helpful and many of them have experience in the field they are teaching. Out of my years there, I only had one bad experience and that was during my bachelor's program. It was for the professionalism class where you are required to create a professional portfolio, which you'll never use! The coursework is easy to manage, as a working parent. During odd weeks you complete a seminar and discussion board with two peer responses, on even weeks you have an assignment, seminar, and discussion board with two peer responses. The final is multiple choice which you complete on the 10th week. I did not need their assistance with finding employment because I was already 5+ years of experience in the field. The cost for both of my degrees is about $65,000 which is worth it.

I honestly wish I had never attended as I can't use my degree to further my teaching career. I was told be the counselor that this school was 100% accredited and that credits would all transfer. Which is not the case at all. Only 5 classes will transfer to my state. I am now 47000 in debt and can't use degree at all.

(university is now Purdue global) They do not allow you to receive an associates, only a bachelors. Financial aid is a NIGHTMARE at this school. WORST experience of my life. Got kicked out of classes multiple times for financial aid not getting documents I sent in or not getting information relayed to them. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy to be honest. They also changed my degree midway through. I did not want an ABA degree, I wanted a psychology degree and they apparently stopped offering that. Go to any school besides this one, please. Oh, and I have ONE class left before I graduate and financial aid is telling me I owe 2600 before I can finish my degree. Disgusting. Inconsiderate. Unorganized. Pathetic. Forgot to mention I asked for career help since I'm at the end of my degree and there was no help given. Their career page is a joke when you become a student. No help at all!

Degree: Health and Wellness, General
Graduation Year: 2013

Kaplan University was a great experience for me in my Bachelors program. I earned a Bachelors of Science in Health and Wellness. By attending this particular program I was able to study while I worked full time. Being a single parent at the time it was important that I had full time employment. The school also took my military experience and military status into consideration when it came to funding as well as the timing of classes. I feel as though they have been very helpful in the advancement of my career, so much so that I decided to get my Masters in Public Health with them as well.

Wonderful school of thought! This will be a great opportunity for anyone who needs to work and attend school, simultaneously. The university is now known as Purdue Global University. You will have to manage your goals, prioritize your daily activities and if you have children, please make sure all of his or her needs are taken care of. I am a member od NSCS honor society as well as International PsiChi Honor Society.

I rate this school extremely poorly. They are for profit, and want to take your money , and give y our no support. At first, you can reach everyone o n the phone, but when you getg intyo the crust of your program, their true colors come out. Stay away from. THIS school. Please hear this advice.

I had a very good experience with Kaplan. At first I was worried because the classes seemed very introductory level. However, as the classes progressed I realized they keep you on your toes. There is a lot of work and they are not easy graders. It really came down to: Do you know what you are talking about? Did you do the required reading? Were you able to expand and apply your knowledge? If you are not a person who is willing to work hard to reach your goals or you are not a self-starter or you are not self-motivated then Kaplan isn't for you. Following graduation I completed by Behavior Certified Behavior Analyst certification and passed the exam the first time. I also carried on and am working toward being a psychologist. I can only comment about my instructors, but they were great. There was not one instructor who I questioned. They were all very knowledgeable and accommodating if you didn't wait until last minute. I can not comment on their financial aid services as I did not use them. I also did not need or use career services.
