I am a current student at Kaplan and I have had a great experience. I will admit that the initial contact with the admissions department was "trying" but after enrollment and getting assigned an awesome Academic Adviser, things have been great. My professors all have years of experience, the work in the school of legal studies is quite rigorous and the live seminars are audio, so it is as if you are sitting in class.

I have never had any issues with my student account, but I do stay on top of my finances. I think those having bad experiences are the ones who don't actively take part in every aspect of their education. You have to do the work, follow up, etc...if not, things go by the wayside.

I first was having second thoughts about going back to school, but once I started Kaplan University Online it is the best thing I have done for myself in a long time. There are great professors that are there with you every step of the way. Once I receive my Bachelors Degree I will start pursuing my Masters Degree with Kaplan. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I recently received my Bachelor's degree through Kaplan. I appreciated many aspects of the online learning experience. Many of the professors were exceedingly helpful, but I wish they would have kept the mandatory seminar attendance. With that aside, I was truly appalled by the school's financial department. I feel like every semester my billings were wrong, and they weren't friendly to deal with. This is the reason I'm not enrolling in Kaplan for my Master's degree.

I am at the end of my first year at Kaplan University to achieve my Associates Degree. The online learning experience has been far more effective than attending a campus-based degree program (of which Kaplan also has available).

The courses are very organized which helps me a great deal. The professor's can be demanding of the students and don't just give away grades. The professor's challenge students to think and apply what they are learning.

The cost for this school is higher than most universities, however, the textbooks are included and federal aid is available. I have learned more in this year and retained more than any school I have attended.

The only drawback is that the accounting/student billing department is lacking and there are always posting errors on my student account, which sometimes can be in the thousands. The school will call and ask how I intend to pay. Because I am always on top of my account and every transaction, I am able to help them fix their errors.

My overall experience is fantastic. I look forward to every new course. I am holding at a 3.43 GPA which is the highest grade I have ever maintained. When I go back and review all of the homework, projects, and other assignments I have completed, I can see why. This university demands an excellent work ethic and commitment. If you are not disiplined, you may find this school very difficult.

First, my experience with Kaplan has been excellent. I have no true bad reviews (there is room to grow in the Financial Aid Dept). Even with those woes, the resolutions were mostly spontaneous. I'm nearly done with my BS degree with Kaplan. However, I would suggest to anyone seeking higher learning to do your research. I started out with at a traditional university, here in NJ and later changed to ONLINE for optimal time management. I compared the courses and they were completely parallel. Even looking now at the MBA program in comparison to another here in NJ to consider the benefits. In conclusion, my overall experience with Kaplan's Professors, Advisors and even FinAid has been more than satisfactory and I'd recommend the University.

I am in my 4th term at Kaplan University, finighing my bachelors degree in Criminal Justics. I have to say, I can't complain about one thing. The Professors are great and they somewhat feel more connected, even though it is online. I have a small child and Kaplan makes it so easy for me to finish my degree, and I have never had better grades in my life. You do have to be disciplined and organized to do well though. I would reccomend KU to anyone who wants to finish their degree!

I just completed one term at Kaplan. I am very pleased with the course work and the professors so far. However, I am very disappointed in the after service you receive once they get your money. I cannot seem to speak to a live person when I need to regarding any questions I might have. My financial aid officer was quite useless, he would not answer a phone call, voicemail, or email. I will add that my academic advisor was some better, she would return my emails and tried to answer my questions. Just be careful when making your final decision to go to Kaplan. You will be fine if don't have any questions or need any help. I will be seriously thinking about switching to a different school this next year. I want to go somewhere that I can get assistance when I need it and they at least appear to care about my problems or issues.

I took classes for 1 term and I have to say the classes were great. They made it very easy to learn and the teachers are knowledgable. Everything about them was above average. The negative.... they (financial/ academic/etc) work rigorously with you and promise you the moon until you sign up and get financial aid. After that you get the run around about the promises of scohalrships, credit transfers, etc.. If all the advisors could get it together this could be one of the best programs out there, however, tread cautiously, could be an expensive mistake.

I am in the middle of my BS Business degree with Kaplan, and I have absolutely loved my learning experience. The professors are very helpful, caring and more excited about teaching than many professors I've had at traditional schools.

The school work is challenging, but not impossible. The books are included in the cost of tuition, which helps to offset the higher price of online learning tremendously, although the books are Kaplan versions, so you cannot resell them at the end of the term, unlike some other schools and classes.

I've always found the Academic Advisors to be very helpful and supportive. Student Accounts are reasonable, and Technical Support is helpful and friendly. Financial Aid is a mess - I've been with the school for 2 years and I have had 12 Financial Aid Officers (1-2 different FAOs per term). Financial Aid has been my only complaint, but I have never been suspended from classes due to it, or had any trouble other than having to figure out my own Awards Letter (which, as a BSB, I can do easily), and call in to get them to accept the disbursements from my student loans.

Overall, Kaplan has been an excellent experience for me.

Kaplan U is an okay school, however I do believe, especially at this campus, that there are some major problems. First of all, if your reading this you need to be aware of the fact that Kaplan does not tell you everything right up front, and that you only find out about things after u are here for awhile,

financial aid is difficult at best here. The people are just so darn difficult to deal with, then when it comes time to receive your stipend they forget to tell you that you need a certain percentage to recieve your money. They act like they own that at times.

Overall the instuctors are ok here, however I have dealt with some really nasty ones that don't take the time to talk about things, especially when you only have 9 weeks in a term that can be difficult at times, It is extremely fast paced here, which is a good thing because you can have a degree i n 18 months, which is a short amount of time, however since it has been so fast paced you do feel burned out and just get tired of it real easy.

I'm almost done with my Associate's degree, and have already been approached by the recruiters to go here for my BA, however since I have felt so disappointed with Kaplan I will not get my BA from this school and as far as my recommendation for future students of Kaplan, I say to use a lot of caution when considering this school because you may not get what you pay for.
