Liberty University is a money trap. I attended online. Their curriculum is not sufficient for real world, it is only good in academia. You will find yourself with a very expensive piece of paper. My experience was not good. The assignments do not align with the course reading and material. The grading rubrics are different from the assignment instructions, leading to confusion. Read More deadlines each week, you don't have 2 days to wait for an answer (if you are lucky to have a professor that replies in that timeframe). Some of the assignments were expected to be completed prior to the week the material for the assignment was learned. Confusion and chaos. Once you complete the first assignment (requirements checklist) you are unable to back out of a class without financial and academic penalty -- and trust me, it is expensive. Graduate level is heavy paper writing with rigid requirements on the format of the paper (APA, MLA), peer reviewed sources, and utilizing their online library. The grading rubric is mostly geared to those items. If you stray from that, plan to receive a bad grade. One bad grade can change your overall course grade drastically. Be cautious!

There is a lot to say about Liberty Online. It does seem more and more that they are trying to get people to enroll in large quantities in order to receive more money. I constantly get emails from my "academic advisor" (a 2015 undergraduate) encouraging me to enroll for more classes, instead of offering help and guidance with my degree. It is doubtful that someone 22 or so with only 4 years of college credit and limited work experience can really provide much help to someone working full time and... Read More pursuing an advanced degree. As far as the degree is concerned, I was constantly disappointed with the grading of the assignments. Reading many of my classmates posts to the assignments showed just how low of a standard Liberty professors hold their students. Oftentimes I would not complete assignments per the instructions, which resulted in a 100% grade. This proved, to me, that the professors were not truly involved in the classes they were leading and were interested in some aspects of grading assignments while ignoring gross negligence in grammar and APA standards. I have no idea if this "Master's" degree will help me in the long run, but I know I am already looking into better on campus and online options for another Master's degree from a more reputable source. Good luck to anyone that pursues it, but this is really my opinion of the place.

The most important factor in receiving a quality online education is the quality of the instructors. While at Liberty I can honestly say that 8 out of 10 of my professors were "Excellent", one was good and one was poor. The one that was not very effective was a new hire and I do not think he realized the effort involved in class instruction. Read More the form of paper evaluations which were very detailed. Grading at LUO is very stringent and it requires much work to get an "A" or 4.0. For those who try for top grades the scoring system requires the student to work very hard and to be detailed oriented to achieve an 3.7 or higher. I entered a doctoral program at a state school after Liberty that was quite competitive for admissions. Liberty prepared me very well for this program as I have done very well in the program as I am one of the top students in my cohort. The entrepreneurial class was probably the most useful and enjoyable as one project was to complete a business plan for a fictitious business. Global management was a another excellent class that was tailored to the modern global economy. A final thought is in regards to the application of the Bible to the coursework. In my opinion this is a tremendous benefit to the student as it allows for another level of thinking. Personal opinions are not discounted by the instructor (at least in my case) as often I was critical of certain writings by Paul. The Biblical aspect allows one to learn by applying an outside source to the subject matter which would be valuable to Christians and non-Christians alike. Overall my experience at Liberty was very good and I found liberty to be a good value for my money. I would like to see Liberty expand into more entrepreneurial type degrees like adding a MBA specialization or even an independent degree because even if no one is hiring knowing how to effectively run your own business can put food on the table and pay the bills.

Liberty is a great school. Perfect, no but name a school that is perfect. Classes are hard but not impossible for the working adult. I have read probably 100 reviews on Liberty and almost all negative reviews are related to non-Christian students who are offended by the Biblical integration in most every class. Read More liberals trying to keep people from attending. If you are a Christian, serious, and honest you will enjoy your time at Liberty. There are lots of military personnel attending and are very professional. I have attended three on-line schools over the last 15 years and Liberty is by far the best. They are fully accredited and now have full business school accreditation. They also have a law school and a medical school. How many other universities can say claim those credentials?

Liberty University is a great-accredited school. If you are an individual, looking for a faith Christian based education this school is for you. If you are not a follower of Christ then do not attend Liberty University or complain if you take a few classes at Liberty. Liberty is very up front in telling all prospective students that this is a Christian school and that the professors and supporting staff will talk about Jesus Christ and their Christian beliefs. All schools financial aid department... Read More have some type of problems. Even though this is Christian school, they are still human and they will make mistakes. Nobody is perfect as the Bible tells us in Romans 3:10 “As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one;” and in Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (NKJV). People will make mistakes no matter what school you attend. I have blessed to have great professors and great support at my time with Liberty University.

This program was done on line and was quite expensive. The classes have prefabricated assignments and there is very little teaching or guidance provided by instructors. Most professors are lost to spite the initials behind their names and many do not even know what is going on from week to week. I liked the Christian perspective the college provided but this ended up being more of a marketing tactic that true Christian principles as evidenced by the attitudes of many professors.
