"This program was done on line and was quite expensive. The classes have prefabricated assignments and there is very little teaching or guidance provided by instructors. Most professors are lost to spite the initials behind their names and many do not even know what is going on from week to week. I liked the Christian perspective the college provided but this ended up being more of a marketing tactic that true Christian principles as evidenced by the attitudes of many professors. Reading the blackboard posts and responses is a joke and rather amusing as these Masters level students can not write to save their lives."

"Most of my experience at Liberty was positive. The negative experiences were; however, very negative. One major problem of the university is that you can never speak to a person. If you do place a call you will wait a minimum of 30 minutes on hold. The statistics courses need to be taught by a qualified instructor or they need to allow you to take the course through another institution. Throughout the doctoral program you are encouraged to write papers on the topic of your dissertation. Your final intensive is your research course and a review of your topic. If Liberty wants to have quality research then they need to follow the lead of other institutions and have student have their dissertation proposals approved very early in their program. Quality dissertations take time and Liberty fails in this regard. If they could improve the statistics courses and dissertation process, and have real people talk to you on the phone the program would be greatly improved.Plan on using a statistical consultant for your dissertation even if Liberty says that it is not required. It is necessary if you want to get out of the program."

"I find LU online to be a very good college. The school is based on Christian beliefs which I have no problem and the class are fast and challenging which I also love.I have only one problem and that problem is the same with all online universities, that problem is u don't have that relationship with the school as u would if you where a resident student. That's pretty much the only problem I have everything else about the school is fine."

"Liberty is a great school. The professors and lectures were top notch, many were from the top of their field. The course work was challenging and informative. I loved attending Liberty, everyone was so helpful and nice."

"I recently completed my Business degree with Liberty Online. I was able to transfer over some credits from LSU that I had from years ago, but basically started from scratch. Due to being off of work due to a medical disability, I went year-round and finished my Bachelors in less than three years. In the interest of full disclosure, I will say that I am a Christian, and thoroughly enjoyed the Biblical worldview woven throughout the instruction. The complaints about that issue on this review board are out of line, in that Liberty makes no apologies for its foundational principles and is very upfront about the Biblical slant of the instruction. All one has to do is read the syllabus of any course and it is clear. That being said, if you are expecting to be significantly challenged with the coursework, you may want to look elsewhere. Frankly, only about a third of the coursework I had was particularly difficult, but even those assignments were easily completed with good time management and planning.Although I went full-time, Liberty is set up for the person going to school in addition to a job and for the stsy-at-home squeezing in classes as time permits. The two most significant advantages are the cost per credit hour and the ability to work at whatever pace suits you in pursuit of your degree.I thouroughly enjoyed my time at LU Online and woukd strongly recommend it. I finished up my studies in December and will be traveling to Lynchburg, VA in May to attend Commencement Exercises."

"Liberty Financial Aid department will make you pull your hair out. The dept. is run by students, NOT by trained professionals which means you end up with a whole lot of fingers milling about your account and personal information.Honestly, I have attended several universities and I actually planned to transfer back to the University Of Alabama but I am mere classes from graduation with my BS in education from Liberty and most schools DO NOT accept Liberty transfer credits. If you want your degree from Liberty then go for it, just keep an eye on your account and be prepared to spend about 5-10 hours per semester on hold trying to get your accounts fixed because of someone in financial aid touching a button they cant figure out how to fix.At this point I am honestly considering quitting because I just don't have time for the hassle. The education is mediocre. Its really not difficult. The sociology courses have amazing instructors, most teachers (not all) really care about the students and others are more hung up on themselves and are really interested in your praising their latest book (which will be your mandatory text book). The financial aid department will really ruin the school."

"Liberty University has been a great online school and I must say that their online support staff is second to none. I am also a veteran and I have had wonderful dealings with their VA reps as well.I would recommend this school to anyone looking to learn more about the Bible and enhance their Christian worldview. The quality of the instructors is solid and the level of feedback that I have received has been great on submitted assignments. The work is challenging, but rewarding to say the least. I have attended other online schools in the past but for me personally none of them have compared to Liberty. The cost versus the education that you will receive is good, and I have yet to have an issue that hasn't been resolved to my overall satisfaction."

"I took several classes with this school and decided it was just not a good fit for me. Everyone is different. I understand this is a christian school but every single class places a high emphasis on biblical studies. While I am aware of its importance, I am not studying to be a minister. So i feel my education was being steered more towards their biblical studies than the actual class. DF had to have biblical references tying into the subject, papers had to have biblical references etc etc. It took me more time researching all this than i did my actual book work!If this is your interest: I will say.... The school has been great with my financial aid, helping me along to fix any issues. I only had one class where the instructor was hard to contact and assignments were shady (instructions were found on two different areas) and nothing was clear."

"I have just finished my first 2 classes online and I am very disappointed in the instructor involvement. For my accounting class, a video was placed on the website of an instructor standing along side a road giving a 5 minute lesson on the multiple chapters for the week. There was a new video every week and I feel they were a waste of time recording them. I got absolutely nothing out of those videos. I feel the instructors are basically graders and not teachers. If you have questions they will answer them but it is basically up to the student to teach the lessons to themselves. I had to go on youtube and find videos about the lessons that were being covered for the week in order to fully understand what was suppose to be taught in the class."

"I LOVE Liberty University. Yes, it's a Christian school. Yes, they are quite efficient in the way they collect the money one agrees to pay for their product. No, they aren't perfect. This will be my fourth college degree, my first online. I believe I have enough experience to tell a decent school from a bad one. I am very satisfied with Liberty.I don't think the quality of the faculty can be questioned. Sure, some are better than others, just like anywhere else. Still, I have had professors who earned their doctorates from places like Oxford University, or were accomplished professionals, such as a former assistant state Attorney General.I have experienced spiritual growth while at Liberty. Their business acumen is solid, for sure, but so is their spiritual support network. The one major weakness I see at Liberty is with the "academic advisers" one reaches when calling the school. This really could use improvement, because it is totally hit or miss whether you will get correct information. My recommendation is, when told you cannot take certain courses or receive certain discounts or whatever, simply nod to yourself, say thank you, then hang up and wait a few minutes. Call back. Chances are you will get an adviser that will help you with whatever you're trying to do.You have to do your part. Classmates and professors are not in the same room with you. However, in this day and age, the very technology that makes online learning even possible also offers instant access to any help any online student could ever need.Liberty University is a quality institution offering a quality product at minimal cost. They are an excellent value and I recommend them to anyone."
