"Pros: Geography and Anthropology have excellent scholar-faculty members that, though busy, are accessible. As a larger department, there are a sufficient range of sub-disciplines and teaching styles represented and I felt that I have plenty of encouragement and support for my research interests. Cons: While I am working for my doctorate degree, I sense from some of my past peers that some of the masters students do not get quite the personal-professional investment that doctoral students do."

"The class sizes are small and intimate, which is nice. You develop an awesome bond with your classmates because you spend long nights and hours with them working on projects. The advisors are not as helpful as I feel the could be. The courses are interesting and difficult which is good for when you get out into the job market."

"If you're interested in Higher Education Administration, LSU is the place to be. With great opportunities to have assistanships, LSU academics really helps tie in your assistanship with what is being taught in the class. The discussions I've had inside as well as outside of the classroom has been phenomenal. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I really enjoy it here."

"The program provides excellent opportunities for direct patient contact, volunteering in clinical settings, as well as research opportunities in the field of geriatric rehabilitation. It helped me learn a lot more about my concentration in exercise physiology, apply the physiology principles to real-life patients, develop professionalism through in-class presentations and clinical research trials, etc. I believe that such an exposure is invaluable in helping one realize their long term goals. Also, the program gives one a good foundation for professional practice/ medical school."

"The program has so much access due to it's focus on always trying to improve. They bring in former students who are doing well and create an open gateway towards new positions for different companies. They just need to get a little bit more organized. Sometimes they got lost doing so much, that they can mix things up. They just need to keep a tighter ship."

"I believe LSUHSC- New Orleans is a good program. If you are a person that does not like to figure things out on your own, then this may not be the program for you. The DPT department is still growing, and the teachers have your best interests at heart. They do try to let us learn things on our own and discover our own style of treating patients. Living in New Orleans is great, and I enjoy it."

"I feel that my graduate program values the importance of critical and analytical thinking- a skill that many employers look for in their employees. However, my program does not offer specific courses in my concentration, African and African American Studies, which decreases the validity of the degree program."

"The graduate program provides a great opportunity to learn and experience real world situations. This is a pro and a con. The time commitment required for internships makes having a job virtually impossible."
