"Mansfield University is the perfect place for anyone looking for smaller class sizes and a more hands on learning experience. If I could go back and do the the four years at MU all over again I would in a heart beat. The school not only prepared me for the communication field through my classes, but assisted me in finding a work study position with the sports information department on campus.This would ultimately lead to me securing my first full-time job in communication before graduation. The professors are always willing to listen and help when needed and there are many opportunities to learn and grow."

"MANSFIELD HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS IT HAD 30 YEARS AGO WHEN I WENT THERE: POOR QUALITY ADMINISTRATORS, PEOPLE IN LEADERSHIP POSITIONS THAT HAVE NO BUSINESS SENSE, OR FACULTY THAT JUST WANT TO PROTECT THEIR JOBS. IF THE ADMINISTRATORS TRULY CARED MANSFIELD WOULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING (LOW ENROLLMENT DUE TO A LACK OF HIGH SCHOOL KIDS NOT GRADUATING FROM LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS AND FACULTY NOT CONCENTRATING ON DEVELOPING LASTING PROGRAMS - MEANING THE TYPES OF MAJORS THAT WOULD PUT PEOPLE IN THE JOB MARKET DIRECTLY AFTER COLLEGE). INSTEAD IT TRIED TO MAKE THE CAMPUS A PRETTY PLACE (LANDSCAPING AND NEW BUILDINGS) BUT DID SO AT THE EXPENSE OF NOT TRYING TO SERVE THE STUDENTS. MANY TALENTED AND ACCOMPLISHED PEOPLE WORKED AND TAUGHT THERE OVER THE YEARS BUT THOSE SAME PEOPLE WERE IGNORED OR LEFT KNOWING THAT A BETTER COLLEGE, ADMINISTRATORS AND STAFF EXISTED SOMEWHERE ELSE . . . AT A PLACE WHERE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND FACULTY UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION AND THE IMPACT THAT CAN HAVE ON THE FUTURE OF THE COLLEGE."

"The professors were not bad, the classes were small enough to get personal attention/help, and the location was what you would expect -- rural and away from the city. Unfortunately, because of this, the school suffers with funding from the state and actual admission rates are low. The school, while I was there, had massive layoffs in most every department except music, which seems unwise, given how much the world is using more and more technology by the day. I believe they had planned to cut almost all professors from the business department, except two, and ended up keeping maybe four. While cutting programs, the school invested in brand new dormitories that they could barely keep filled. They did not apply most of my AP credits towards general education classes. When I graduated in 2015, they had been talking about turning the university into a Liberal Arts college. My projection is that the school will likely be shut down before 2025. They have decent staff, but a board that makes terrible decisions, in my opinion."

"Let me just say first of all that the CS program is going through some changes in 2017/2018 and I have no idea whether those changes will end up being good or bad. Anyway, the professors i had between the core CS and relevant math courses were all very knowledgeable and really seemed to love what they were teaching. The school has a dedicated CS lab that is open to all CS majors which is a fun place to code in relative silence. I got a job offer for a software engineering position at a fortune 500 company before finals week of my final semester. I was blown away to have secured a real "big boy" programming job before I even graduated. I now have the beginnings of a career that I've always wanted, and without the degree that I earned I don't think this company would have even considered me. It's not RIT or Cornell, but Mansfield's CS program worked well for me."
