Degree: Data Analytics

I found the Business Data Analytics degree program to be what I needed. I found the material, delivery approach, course tempo, and level of subject difficulty to align well with my abilities and learning style. Instructors were generally pretty good. Some responded more promptly than others, but all except one met the response-time requirement. I built throughout the program a OneNote resource of material -- notes, linked articles, videos -- that I have as a reference to use in my professional work.... Read More

I have had a great experience so far at Maryville University! My advisor always calls when we are scheduled, my instructors respond via email, text, ect., and all of my work has been relevant and educational. Most all online programs require you to find your own clinical sites. Online learning also requires self motivation and determination. This is not my first online degree, but I have not had any issues whatsoever! Online learning however is not for everyone!

Degree: Software Engineering

Maryville's online master software programming is not for those looking to advance their computer engineering knowledge and achieve a true Master's degree. This is a low level boot camp for people wanting to dabble in programming for the first time. As well, the online material is poorly done with YouTube videos and nothing creatively done to build on concepts throughout the course. The problems turned in weekly are so simple I generally had them finished in a matter minutes. The program claims needing... Read More

Degree: Nurse Practitioner (Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health)

I am about to start my 3rd semester. I started in August 2019. I am still taking the general nurse practitioner courses and have not started clinical yet. I am in the Psych NP program. I have had 4 instructors so far and all of them have been wonderful. They are quick to grade assignments and very responsive to messages and will even text you back. I had an issue with one assignment (not understanding it well) and my professor called me at night to discuss what I needed to improve before the final... Read More

Red flags from the onset but I powered through anyway. The graduate student nursing orientation quiz was flawed and after multiple attempts to gain the 'required 100' points I spoke to my advisor who laughed it off and said, "Oh that's been like that for 6 years, number 5 has been wrong. You'd think being an online program we could get them to address it but not yet, no worries. It doesn't really matter anyway." (Wasting my time and other students too, but I guess that's ok) Then to the actual classes.... Read More

So far, so good. Instructors are very helpful and knowledgeable of what they are teaching. The courses and instructional materials are relevant and the instructors are understanding. Of course, online setting is different. You have to do your part too.

I would not recommend Maryville University at all. The instructors are in place to grade papers, there is no teaching, just resources you can utilize to help you learn. Very little feedback is given. I had some good instructors , but some very bad ones too. I had one instructor that continued to remind me that she was busy too, when I was requesting a timely response (24-48 hours). For the price, this education is not worth it. They take your money, throw some resources at you, then test you and... Read More

I just withdrew in the middle of the first class. Students are not allowed to review exams to determine weak areas and there is ABSOLUTELY no feedback other than being told to withdraw if grades are not where the student wants them to be. With the money that is paid, the answers I received are not acceptable. Exams are worded very poorly and unclear. I wish I had been a little more cautious, but I caved to the high pressure sales.

This is hands down the WORST academic institution on the planet. I use the word academic loosely. I really don't know where to begin. First of all, be prepared to receive harassing emails from the university president. He has ample time to call ALL students bigots if they don't support Islam. Also, be prepared to NEVER receive responses from your teachers. I'm currently waiting on a response from my teacher going on 2 weeks. Speaking of professors...they have none. Classes are administered by adjuncts.... Read More

To get their brochure I had to put my name, number and email. I’m a student looking to transfer to an university with online degrees. Ever since 8am they’d called me a total of 6 times (different people each time); to the second called I mentioned I prefer being contacted via email due to my job. To the third caller I mentioned that I need to be placed in their no call list - yet calls did not stop .. to the 5th dialer I asked why do I keep on being called and if they have any possibility to put... So far the program has been fine! Based on the reviews people don't understand what online programs entail. Online programs are primarily all self taught and require a lot of self dedication. It is also common knowledge that schools do not help you find clinical sites. The program is what you make of it. If you want a lecture type education this not for you! If you are self motivated and are dedicated to your reading and course work this will be a decent program for you!

Wish I would have seen these reviews prior to starting classes at Maryville. All of the previous reviews are TRUE! This is a self-taught program. No one teaches you to be a clinician, let alone a good clinician. You will complete all of the tedious irrelevant assignments - this is the extent of your education. If you are fortunate to graduate, you are on your own to practice what you did not learn at Maryville. There is no feedback on assignments, quizzes or exams. You will not know what you need... Awful, total rip off stole all of fasfa money and still charges never ever would recommend. Constantly worry about fast money instead of worrying about my education they did help at some point but one later on in the road they kind of just stopped working with you and it was pretty awful.

Got my MSN degree this year and i strongly recommend their program if ure working full time, with kids (or not) and considering doing online. My advisers and profs were always reachable and approachable. Workloads can be indeed demanding and exams can be challenging but that how it should be anyway.

Dr S. wants students to fail. The university just wants money. Similar to Trump University. Go somewhere else. The advisers will call you daily push you into the program under false pretenses then when you arent ready or dont have the money for all the money requirements the stop responding to emails cause they dont care if you succeed they just want your money.

This has got to be the worse school and program ever. They make up their own exams that aren't even in the readings. The teachers don't grade consistently. The administration, teachers, and program director do not care if you fail or pass. They say "if your failing then withdraw" what kind of school advises their students to withdraw instead of helping them.

The first three classes and the one I am in now have been self-taught. I have received no help from instructors. I reached out after receiving disability status, and they do not accomodate. They should have a form to fill out after you state you have a disability, instead they want you to have 10 forms already prefilled showing which disability you have. I am reporting them to the DOE.
