"I believe I received a top notch art education, but would have benefited from a minor in a field that I could have worked in post graduation. You run a risk when you major in Art, it just didn't pan out for me as a career. My overall experience with Murray State is that is was one of the best times of my life. I was active with the Racer Band, and joined the campus art group OMAS my senior year. I wish I had taken smaller course load and gotten more involved with groups. Taking 16-17 hours every semester did not allow for many extra curricular activities."

"Murray State University is an outstanding university whose main goal is providing "education at its finest". I spent two years at Murray State, and I loved every minute of it. As soon as I stepped on campus, I felt extremely welcomed, and I felt like the professors and community really wanted me there as a student. Murray has been voted the friendliest town in the United States and that is very true. It will provide you with a small-town feel and low teacher to student ratios which provides more one on one teaching which I enjoyed. Within my program, I loved all of the professors that I had. I could tell that each of them was very educated in the field and had current knowledge of new material and studies. More than that, I felt like they really cared if I was successful as a student and as a woman. Outside of the classroom, Murray has all sorts of activities that you can participate in. The Winners Circle is a group of students who love Racer sports and get benefits when you go to the games. We are also the college who had Ja Morant who was recently drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies. We have a great marching band and all kinds of clubs and student organizations to get involved in on campus. If you are considering Murray State, come visit and I guarantee that you will love it!"

"It is the best university for the money. I had a job one month after graduation. I would say the instructors I had were very capable of teaching the core content well. They were very willing to go the extra mile to see me succeed. Murray has been a blessing to me. in that it has opened doors that I would have never had opened, It has gave me a higher level of self confidence. I had some cancer scares working on my masters and the instructors worked with me during that time. I plan on going back and finishing my masters after some medical bills are paid."

"I attended Murray State University from fall 2008 to until spring 2013. I owe Murray State all my gratitude for the accomplishments that I have achieved in the last 4 years. From working at one of the top hospitals in my area, to gaining extra certifications within my career and to adequately preparing me for my career. "I chose to attend Murray State University because of its well known Pre-Veterinary Medicine/Animal Health Technology Program, and I was not disappointed. I was able to double major in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Animal Health Technology which gave me the ability to take the Veterinary Technologist National Examination after graduating in May. My advisor and fellow professors helped me get ready for veterinary school in every way possible, from taking specific veterinary classes geared towards my career to making sure I had all my prerequisites for applying to veterinary school. I was able to stay on track and graduate in four years with their help. The staff is never afraid to work one on one with the students and they genuinely care about the success of the students. The program at Murray State is so renowned within the southeastern region for producing top notch veterinary school students, and that was told to me at almost all of my veterinary school interviews. Every school I applied to commented on how many advanced veterinary classes this university offered, and they were very impressed with how many animal experience hours and basic veterinary knowledge I had because of my veterinary classes. Because of this, I was offered acceptance into every veterinary school I applied to which included the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, the University of Missouri in Columbia, Auburn University, and the University of Florida in Gainesville. I wouldn't have been able to get into veterinary school in my first application without the help of the amazing staff at Murray State University, and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to attend here."

"This was a rigorous program that required that required a great amount of time and effort to be successful. The different ways were effective time management, collaboration amongst classmates, and communication with instructors. This is the information I recommend to future students."

"Murray State University provided me with rigorous coursework, undergraduate research experience, experiential learning opportunities, clubs/organization involvement, and a great diversified learning atmosphere. I have made friendships that will last a lifetime, connections among peers and professors that have already helped in my career, and a diverse background of coursework in public relations and psychology. "Murray State University is a school that not only had the degree that I sought, but also had wonderful people there that helped me pursue my dream. The classes are very close to one another, so it can sometimes only take about 10 to 15 minutes to head to the next class. Professors are super friendly and truly want you to succeed in your choice of degree, and are willing to help you chose the best classes."

"Overall, my experience at Murray State University was a positive one. I enjoyed my program in particular (Philosophy major), and my modes of thinking and preconceived notions were constantly challenged by the professors. Indeed, obtaining my degree from this program was an experience of tremendous growth, both as a student and a person in general. Unfortunately, MSU chose to dissolve the Philosophy program after the conclusion of the 2016 year, piecing the classes out to be parts of various other liberal arts curriculum. This means that, as of now, I will be one of the last students to graduate from this program at MSU, and the last student to receive the "Outstanding Senior in Philosophy" award. I believe this to be to the great impoverishment of the MSU community, as Philosophy is a field which helps to logic and critical thinking skills. It is an incredibly versatile degree/program which can provide the proper skill-set and paradigm for a number of rewarding career paths. In particular, I was honored to work closely with my advisor, Dr. R.G., and the equally wonderful Dr. C.G.. Both were exquisite and erudite teachers who served as constant sources of inspiration, encouragement, and knowledge for me. As a whole, the campus at MSU was an intriguing amalgam of diversity and uniformity. The diversity was provided by way of a thriving program of international students, who added a much needed element of ethnic and cultural diversity to the mix. The city of Murray itself was a relatively liberal place for it's location in the bible belt. I did notice, however, an alternative strand of conservatism present among some students/departments which ran counter to this general trend. The current president, Dr. Bob Davies, is a very kind and approachable man who is popular among the students. He can often be found out among the students, exploring the campus and taking an active role in the life of the university. My experience with Sparks Hall, the office where financial matters were dealt with, was less than positive. I would try to avoid interaction with the staff of that building whenever possible, because they had a reputation for generally being petulant and rude. My personal experiences confirmed this (on most occasions). If you are considering attending MSU, I would say to go ahead. I did truly enjoy the community and campus life overall. I worked as a desk clerk in my residential college (Clark) where I lived for all four years of my undergraduate collegiate experience. I would encourage students to be active in the life of the campus, branch out, and truly grow. I hope you found this review to be helpful in making your decision!"

"The Speech-Language Pathology program at MSU is a solid program with a good mix of strong academics, professional opportunities, and faculty support. The program is rigorous and can be tough at times. On the other hand, MSU does not necessarily have a lot of financial aid allotted for graduate students, and some students have found the area surrounding Murray to be lacking for social activities (my classmates go to Paducah or Nashville)."
