"For obvious reasons, I will leave a review that will guard my anonymity. Fact, a percentage of field internship placements are horrible, but they continue to allow these people who have no experience training interns to continue to supervise. This equates to a loss of time, because you are paying for this, and loss of experience, as once you're placed, it's difficult to change organizations. Fact. Faculty lies to cover up for one another in regard to poor unethical practices. Fact- the MSW field coordinator pushed students into placements when the COVID-19 outbreak occurred, sending out an email explaining that Interns could continue if placements just cleaned well. Simply put, some teachers here are great, others are only given the privilege to "educate" and would be fired in the real world in a heart beat. Nepotism? I would give some teachers an A+, and other faculty a D- or an F. I think UNC-G or UNC-Chapel Hill are better choices."

"Absolute nightmare of an experience with this school (NCSU). I transferred into NCSU with a perfect 4.0 GPA from a different university and ended up with just barely a 3.0 after 3 semesters due to most, if not all of the classes there being designed in a way to purposefully make students fail the course no matter how much effort is put in just so they can “keep up the rigor of the school” as I’ve heard a professor say before. This is outlined by statistics that show most students failing classes at above the 200 and 300 level. Now, not only can I not change my major here into anything else due to every single major here requiring at least a 3.5 GPA and that is in any department, I also cannot transfer to a good university anymore due to this school ruining my GPA. They try claiming that their “grade exclusion” system is helpful, yet they themselves know every student going there uses up their grade exclusion as fast they get into the university and then when you transfer to a different university, those “grade exclusions” don’t even matter because they look at them anyway. The system setup to change your major at NCSU is horrible, you have to wait 3 to 4 months for each “cycle” and ALSO be enrolled into the school, meaning, if you have taken most of all the classes that you would need already for your major and close to graduating, you have to take classes that won’t even count towards your major and hope that in 3 to 4 months, someone higher up decides that you are good enough to change into their major, which the only determining factor being your GPA, that has to be AT LEAST a 3.5 for ANY major in the school to even be considered no matter your excellent past grade history in other classes at NCSU. You can have an outstanding cumulative GPA at NCSU for three, four semesters, but if you mess up for one semester and end up with bad grades, guess what, your GPA is under 3.0 now even after grade exclusions and there is little to no chance of you being able to change your major into anything, meaning all the time and money you spent at NCSU is worthless because you can’t even graduate from there anymore. And once you mess up your GPA here, you can get all A’s from this point and it won’t matter, because the way that cumulative GPA works here, is that you can only raise your GPA by 0.1 to 0.2 at best if you end up with all A’s the next semester, which won’t happen anyway, you will get B’s AT BEST if you are lucky, meaning you will stay at the ruined GPA that you have from just one semester, which is what determines if you can change your major or graduate from the school. The counselors can’t help with anything, all they do is help you take the right courses for your major, which is intuitive anyway, so that you can graduate as fast as possible, only to realize that the average person going to NCSU graduates in six to eight years due to having to retake courses, changing majors and other inconvenient and deplorable practices that are in place just to make you fail courses no matter how much work you put into them. And then they charge your extra tuition fees when you have more credits than you are “supposed to have”. Claiming that this system is in place to “speed up” the graduation process even though they know most of the delay in graduation has nothing to do with the student as the student wants to graduate as fast as possible anyway but delays happen and they blame this rule on the state, claiming that they have nothing to do with it. Overall, I would not suggest any sane student to go here unless you wish to lose your sanity, dignity, hope and any amount of success in terms of GPA that you have gathered from a different school."

"I loved my major, and I loved every degree class that I took. Most of the professors are willing to go out of their way for the students, with everything from classes to research opportunities. My one piece of advice is State's ANS program is very industry based, so you'll learn a lot more about pigs and cows than dogs and cats, but it provides diversity to your education."

"Ohio State provided an amazing graduate experience. Their graduate assistantships provided relevant work experience and funding toward tuition. The faculty provided high quality educational experiences and challenged us to be scholar practitioners in our field."

"I had a great college experience at North Carolina State University. The school was big, but it still felt small. You get to know a good majority of people in your degree program, but you will not get to know everyone. Some degree programs are closer knit together than others. The friendships that you create will last a lifetime, you will earn a great degree, you will be challenged by the coursework, and manage to have fun. There were plenty of clubs and organizations to participate in and the sporting events were exciting. I really feel as though NC State prepared me for life after college and I feel confident in my degree. I highly recommend NC State. It has many amazing degree programs to chose from and is an all around respected school."

"My review is for a degree in Communication specifically. I feel it is not a professional track degree unless you plan on going into speach disorders digital sciences which require higher degree anyway. I am not discounting the college, my choice in discipline was not the best and very unhealthy in regards to having a career."

"The college was good, with lots of opportunities available. There were intramurals, gym classes, and lots of events to get involved with. The faculty were qualified and good, but the school felt so big to me. It was hard to find my place."

"While expensive, it teaches you how to learn, ask questions, explore, research, how to manage time, and how to work both in groups and independently. While it may not seem relevant at the time, college is worth it."

"MPA program had a great support structure and department chair that were available to talk and advise whenever needed. Classes were great and faculty were responsive. Faculty were very knowledgeable. Good mix of working adult students and students that just graduated from 4-year programs."

"NC State is a great school for engineering. It has one of the most varied subjects one can look for like Textile and Nuclear. It's based in Raleigh, so RTP is close by with lot of opportunities for jobs after graduation. The professors are great and the area is relatively cheap compared to other areas around the country."

I am absolutely excited about getting a chance to work with some of them and build my knowledge base exponentially. This will be a fantastic journey ahead of me!"

"North Carolina State University is a great place to live and grow. For starters, it is located in Raleigh, North Carolina's capital, which is a sprawling city with urban amenities as well as interspersed natural areas. The college itself is large enough to include cutting edge technology and professors, but small enough where you do not feel like just a number. The professors are some of the top in their respective fields of study and are more than willing to lend a hand in mentoring the next generation of productive and well-rounded citizens. I would highly recommend NC state to anyone looking for a research university in a wonderful location!"
