"The psychology program at Northeastern State University is one I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to pursue a degree in psychology. The program itself is not terribly expensive, offers a tremendous amount of experiential and academic courses, and is staffed with some of the best professors and professionals in the counseling field in the state of Oklahoma. Each professor brings something different to the table and offers a different perspective when interacting within the counseling and psychology profession. Professors are invested in their students, and with the classes being relatively small compared to other universities, professors will know your name without it being a bad thing. I took the majority of my courses in person at the Broken Arrow campus but my final semester was all online and it was not a difficult transition."

"NSU Tahlequah was a very unique experience. The size of the school relative to the town around it allows the university life to really spill over into the rest of the area. I had an excellent relationship with most of the faculty members, and as it was a smaller program I received abundant attention and prospered because of it. The only drawbacks are the way everything seems to shut down between terms and if you do want to get away from campus life, you pretty much have to drive to Tulsa in order to see other people."

"I cannot say enough good things about Northeastern State University! The class sizes are small enough for the professors to know you by name and are there to help you succeed. Every professor that I have had at Northeastern State University has pushed me to be the best student I can be and formed me to become a candidate for a graduate assistant position for the Criminal Justice Masters Program. I am now half way through my first semester in the masters program and I still have nothing but good things to say!"

"NSU is a great value. It offers quality education for a fraction of the cost of the bigger state schools and private universities. The campus is safe, small enough to walk from end to end between classes, but also large enough to host a variety of degrees."

"NSU has brought me amazing opportunities through the past three years. When I first transferred to NSU I was nervous to get involved on campus but the family environment that NSU provides its students gave me the courage to do so. Since transferring, I have joined a sorority, became a SOAR leader, I was a Rookie bridge Camp volunteer, and I won homecoming queen in the fall of 2016. I cannot say enough amazing things about this University."

"I attended NSU in Broken Arrow. My classes were all online and it was nice having that option since I am a single mother, work full time, and was also going to school full time. Although my classes were online my instructors communicated very well with me. I also liked that I could do my homework any time, day or night. All of my instructors were amazing and very helpful when I had questions or concerns. The financial aid department is wonderful as well. They are always there to answer any and all questions pertaining to financial aid. The students at NSU are awesome too! I learned a lot from my fellow students and they were always there to help out or answer questions. I love NSU so much I am currently attending graduate school there! Go Riverhawks!"

"Northeastern State University offered a Bachelors degree program in Human and Family Sciences that I found to be very beneficial for my lifestyle. Some classes were on campus on a Saturday morning, but a majority of them were online. Being a full time employee, it was very beneficial. The program was a two year program offering 2 classes at a time, every 8 weeks. You were given the option to take more classes to finish early. You would usually get the same instructors for several classes, you were able to get to know them and build relationships with them, which made the education process. Overall, NSU definitely helped me get a degree that I never thought I would receive."

"I loved my university. It was small enough to provide a personal atmosphere but large enough to offer a challenging academic curriculum with a wide variety of classes available. I was able to take classes that ranged from Anthropology to Ropes and Rappelling and Ballroom Dancing. I enjoyed the campus atmosphere and the planned activities. I had a wonderful time in college!"

"I loved my college. It is a smaller campus, but still a professional atmosphere. I loved the class sizes and the professors really cared about my education. It wasn't overly expensive or snobby. I never felt out of place."

"I liked this school for the people that attended, but I will be in debt until my mid-30s because of this school. It is FAR too expensive for the value."

"The sciences at Northeastern for undergraduates are fantastic! The Co-op program is amazing. The graduate departments tend to be lacking, with the exception of chemistry which seems to be well supported in the College of Science. Some advisors are excellent, but others let students fall through the cracks - it is an uneven distribution and the quality of education you get depends on who you end up working with."

"Northeastern State University is a beautiful campus that was named number 11 in '30 Most Attractive Yet Affordable College Campuses.' It has a small town feel and is located near the Illinois River. Northeastern State University is also well known for its Cherokee Heritage- Seminary Hall is a pristine building that was formerly known as the Cherokee Female Seminary. The Higher Education Leadership program is very strong, with many colleagues enrolled to help one another with classes and to learn more about their institution."

"The pros of this program are the excellent faculty, the other students in the program, and the practical experience gained in the classroom. The main con is the small commuter campus leading to the lack of a ton of educational resources on campus."

"The enrolling process was easy to get through because I had excellent assistance. As a senior citizen I could have used a little more assistance with the online program. It was a little difficult for me to grasp. The staff and students are outstanding though."

"the biggest pros are the following: this graduate program is evening-class-based, meaning that it consists of primarily non-traditional, working students. In addition, the professors are most understanding and open to assist in any way. There is one con - the graduate program is broken up into three branches of the campus, all 45-or-so minutes apart. Therefore you have to grab the core classes as they are available at your present class, else you might delay completing your degree in a timly fashion, unless you want to add a long evening commute to your daily life during a semester."
