School of horrors

"Want mentors who vanish? Lack of records? Online classes that cost thousands per class and yet barely cover any academic materials? You may get one sentence reply on an assignment. Maybe. Want scattered financial records? Charges for classes you didn't take? Well, go to NAU, the worst of the three colleges I have attended. I have two BAs and an MA from other unis. This school is uniquely horrific. I left and will not return. It is. It worth finishing."

"I have gotten both my BA and my MAed living on campus for my BA and my masters through statewide distance learning. They hire professors who are current and relevant in their fields. With my masters the professors worked in education throughout the Valley and it provided excellent networking opportunities. They are the best education school in the state. Out of seven American teachers in a small city at a prestigious school in Turkey, with teachers from all over the US, 3 out of 7 of us had our masters in education from NAU. It speaks to the value and respect for NAU's education program, even at an international level."

"I went to NAU and graduated in 2007. It was a great school loved that the campus was small made it easier get to know people. When in your major classes es small ratio student teacher. Teachers where always approachable to answer questions. With smaller class sizes able to make friends with others to make study groups. Being in two majors got to see the counselor's for Speech Pathology and in Education they were both knowledgeable in helping to make class schedules or answer questions I had. I Loved living on Campus in the Dorms and had always felt safe walking to class and back to dorms. Liked how close NAU is to the out doors to go hiking or just enjoy nature."

"I did not feel as though the majority of my instructors were invested in providing quality education. If you want an easy graduate program, this is the one for you. But, if you want to be challenged and furthered in your field, if you want to engage in the lectures, and feel connected to the campus community- look elsewhere."
