"The campus is great, and there's a heavy focus on the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics programs."

"It was a great school for engineers and science students, not so much students interested in the arts."

"OSU is a great college to attend for any engineering discipline. The curriculum fully prepares you for a career in the field of engineering. OSU has a great campus and student life is full of fun."

"I regard my time at Oregon State as some of the best years of my life. The overall experience was fantastic and I felt I was legitimately prepared for the real world upon graduation. Go Beavs!"

"For a state school, Oregon State counselors really make an effort to help students who want to succeed. From my experience, I was not a good student but my counselor really helped narrow down what I really liked to study and find Anthropology. I went from academic probation to honor roll. Oregon State also offers diverse extra curricular activities. I found an awesome program that sent me overseas to teach swimming lessons and day camps on military bases. At Oregon State you can really find your niche and make lifelong memories while getting an extraordinary education."

"Excellent community. If you're ambitious, there are many opportunities to become involved. The education was well worth its money, which is hard to find these days!"

"I had a great experience at OSU. In the Agriculture Business department, classes are small and really personalized so you really feel like you are learning real life skills, not just things out of a textbook. The course load allowed for plenty of room for extra curriculars too. Some colleges at OSU have much larger lectures than this one, some of which I attended, but overall I'd say my experience was a positive one. I left OSU with life skills that I could use immediately in the admin job. The only downfall is I wish the college offered better job placement services because when I graduated the entire job search was up to me. Whereas in other college departments they offer better help finding jobs."

"Great campus, plenty of things to do. Exercise and sport sciences has a great program. Class sizes are a little outrageous for some classes and some of these professors for classes are research students so their motivation to teach can be relatively low."

"Oregon State University's Construction Engineering Management program is great. You have huge amounts of opportunity to regularly meet with industry professionals, have a very high rate of getting internships for the summers and jobs right out of college, and a very knowledgeable set of instructors and professors."

"The low level classes are ok, it's probably better to go to a community college for them. I was extremely impressed with the upper division classes. For the vast majority of them, the teachers were competent, caring, and willing to help. I'd go again."

"I would highly recommend taking classes at a community college prior to attending such a large school. The 100-200 level class sizes are very large and the grad TA's that are available to help you are ESL. Working with an ESL TA can be especially difficult in challenging classes. However, once you get to 300-400 level classes within your major class sizes begin to decrease which better allows you to create relationships with your peers and instructors."

"This program seemed fair and challenging, but from the moment it started you had to download 3-5 programs and search for ways to get onto them just to turn them in. Also you cannot talk to your professors just TAs. Good luck locating what you need. Also the load of homework is a lot for a person with a family and a full time job."

"The pros: located in central oregon with local student teaching placements. A couple of the courses are taught by local school district employees who really know what they are talking about and are great professors. The cons: the program is highly disorganized and there is a lot of busy work, partly due to the complete lack of effective communication between faculty. Most of the faculty are rarely prepared for class, they often scrap assignments after they have been turned in and can't provide accurate information regarding requirements. While some of the professors are making an effort to incorporate new technology into the classroom most of it is implemented poorly and just wastes students' time. There is no computer lab or printer available in the building. You basically take classes in an office park with no support. Overall, this program suffers from a faculty that is disorganized, uncommunicative, and fails to practice what they preach. It is unfortunate that they rely on the excellent local school districts to essentially do the work of preparing teachers for them, and then take the credit."

"This is my first term in graduate school, but so far the experience has been amazing. The students and faculty are extremely supportive, and passionate about what they do. Corvallis is a wonderful community to live in. The workload is hard, but realistic and challenging in a good way."
