Degree: Medical Billing & Coding
Graduation Year: 2014
"I think PCI is a crap hole. I enrolled in the medical billing and coding program, I had done no research on the field which I greatly regret. I feel as an admissions counselor you should tell the student about the program and if they are uncertain tell them to do some research. Instead he just wanted to get me signed up and didnt care about my future at all. Apparently if you want to be a coder you should have at least a few years of experience in the medical field as anything even a receptionist. I DID NOT know that and of course the school wasnt going to tell me anything like that. I went to college for medical coding so that i could be a medical coder not so i could start off making 8 bucks an hour as a receptionist, now of course i should have done my research but I still feel like admissions should tell you this simple stuff. Aside from all that my teacher sucked majorly. for at least the first hour and a half of class all we would do is sit there and talk about what we did that day and blah blah blah. She wasted so much of out class time, she was a horrible teacher and a major bitch, on top of that i took 15 different classes in 15 months which is way too short of a time period to be able to learn anything, especially when your teacher doesnt teach. BTW her name is Angelia Collier. Basically i ended up graduating and still not knowing how to code properly and also the externship for this course is virtual. i hate this school so much for wasting my time and money. and career services, yeah all she does is send you links to job postings on indeed.com or some BS i could do myself, they have no connections and cannot help you find a job. i did end up takng an lot of my classes on line only because my teacher sucked."
