This overall was a great experience. There were a few issues with online text books so whenever possible obtain physical textbooks. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful however I have had a few times where I couldn't access the online textbooks and no one seemed to know how to resolve it but within a day or two the problem would be resolved and they called me to tell me they fixed the issue. Other then online textbook issues it was great experience. If you do FAFSA they may take out the loan as well so be weary if they do this as they did my loan first and not my grant.
I loved this college. I went here for 3 years online. I had transferred a lot of credits from another college and it was a breeze. My financial aid person was very friendly and helpful, as well as my academic advisor. They always got back to me within a reasonable time, usually the same day. Most of the instructors for the courses were engaged with the class discussions. Most also got back to you within 24 hours about emails that you had sent. There were one or two instructors that could have improved in their teaching, but I don't think any school is perfect. I will say that any student needs to be dedicated in order to be an online student, as I had due dates for assignments, just like a college campus that a student would attend. To clarify, I only gave one star for the career services because I only remember websites that I could have visited for help in a career, so I think that this area could be improved. I have not gotten a job in my field yet, but I need my Master's, which I am pursuing in the fall at another online college. If I could, I would attend Post for my Master's, but the program I want is not at Post yet.
This online school is a scam! They just want your money! Obviously, every school wants your money, but they steal your tuition money and your loan money! If you go here, check each statement and call if there are any discrepancies be a useful they seriously are screwing people put of thousands of dollars of loan money! My bills don't show where any of my credit went from the previous month, but on the next bill, there is a huge Chunk of it missing and the previous Bill had already accounted for that class period. There is a lot of money on my bills unaccounted for- eventhough it shows SOME of the money went back to the financial institution, it was a small amount and I am missing a very large amount! Thankfully, I am sitting at a zero balance, but everything with this school has been so sketch from the very beginning! I have so many individual advisors. Enrollment advisor, academic advisor, financial advisor. And sometimes, I have gotten an email from 2 people both saying they are my academic adviser but then one tells me they aren't and they will have to find out for me. This whole school has been a drain and a cluster.
This school is very military friendly school. I am a current student at Post actively pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration. The only issue that I have had thus far is the processing of financial aid. I am a self starter and tend not to need much assistance so I will not be able to gage how well the school does with those things. There seems to be several resources available. I have been contacted by my instructors on occasion who has offered assistance when I have received a poor grade. I have noticed a lot of good reviews for business admin students and not so good reviews for other degree programs. The school may need to use more of the business school principles (Baldrige Principles) for each degree program and as operational guidelines for the organization as a whole.
I am currently an online student at Post and so far, I have really enjoyed the online program. Like anything, it takes a minute to learn how to navigate through their online tool, Blackboard, though it honestly is very easy and convenient to use. They also have an app that, does need a few improvements, but is very helpful and allows me to work on my assignments and discussion questions/responses while on the go. I would recommend the app for most online students who are tech-savvy. I transferred from another college back in January of this year where I attended classes in a hands-on manner and I have to say that I enjoy online classes much more. It can be a challenge discipline wise, though I love how convenient it is and that you have the option to work ahead if you so choose. My academic counselor contacts me multiple times per week and always keeps up with me on things. I have not had any issues with the financial department and the experiences I have had so far have been pleasant. I hope that continues. Great university!
Post was initially the best choice for online school. Then the problems started no one really tells you the exact truth or either don't inform you off important things. Such as things you need for initial entry. Even when you call they won't tell you what needs to be done
I started attending post university in 2012. The advisors and staff used to be wonderful. Now, I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. They've messed classes up for me resulting in extra loans having to be taken out, as well as the staff is clueless. My advisor didn't even know I was graduating and was sending me emails about registering for the next module. The financial department has no idea what they're doing, and are extremely rude. I used to love post and the education they provided, but I will never use them again. I'm planning on getting my masters from another school. To add, my advisor didn't even congratulate me on my graduation. I finished the module and that's it.
Well I am new to online schooling. I have been attending this school for 4 weeks now. Let me start by saying although I am new I have attended another online school and had none of the issues Ive encountered at this school. Firstly the financial aid department and admissions are a joke. I signed up here in February. I had all my financial aid paperwork done the first week after applying. I was fully awarded and wasn't going to have to pay a dime out of pocket for my loans upfront. Okay so I did slack off an extra two weeks in getting my GED transcript that I never received. So I ordered the transcript, faxed it over and waited a couple of days before calling back. M. the guy I talked to told me he received it and was forwarding it to the financial aid department as we spoke. Great! (Right?) WRONG I get a call back a week later saying they could not use that transcript they needed a transcript in a sealed envelope from the school you attended! Seriously? What kind of student just has a transcript from high school in a sealed envelope ready to send to a college. Ok so at this point Im not working I was waiting to start another job. I didn't have the fifteen dollars to order my transcript for my GED. M. tells me no problem, emails me a transcript request and I print it, fill it in and fax it back the next day. A week and a half later (now its around March 26th or so) I get a call from a guy named N. in admissions. "I got your transcript request but Im going to need to have you fill in the graduation year and re fax it" Well this is partially my fault I did forget to fill in the year of graduation. I can accept full responsibility for that. However you waited a week and a half to call me back about this? I negotiate with N. about just having him fill in the Date on the request and submitting it. Three days later. N. calls me again and says he tried submitting this transcript request form and the school wont release the transcript to him and quote on quote "IT IS WHAT IT IS" he says. At this point its April 2nd today when I received that call. So if I do order my transcript right now have it mailed, wait a week to get it, mail it to them which would easily be another week, and then wait 4-6 weeks for Financial aid to be processes we will be talking about receiving my financial aid in July, IF EVERYTHING RUNS SMOOTHLY. As far as Im concerned nothing has run smoothly at this school so far so im pretty sure that dates out of the question anyway. I signed my withdrawal form and Ill worry about this $3000 for this online class another time. For now Im starting another online class with a different college. Lastly the online classes here are pretty worthless anyway. If you like being talked to like your in kindergarten by your professor than this will be an excellent school for you!
This is by far a horrible college if there ever was one. The professors literally post an assignment on the backboard website, they give instructions and a view links to helpful articles or YouTube videos, and the rest is up to you. Horrible communication, professors couldn't care less about students. Just a horrible college. Thank god I transferred to Penn State. If you are even remotely thinking about post university, go to a wall and strike up a conversation, The wall will actually be more responsive and knowledgeable than this college.
My personal experience was great with Post University. I did not have an issue with the financial aid department or with my advisor. I found my instructors to be knowledgeable and helpful when I ran into issues with the course work. I would recommend Post University to any working professional looking to continue their education.
