Post University

So far the courses are really great. The admissions counselor and professor are nice. The only downfall is that when I request anything about my financial aid and when I'll get it, I get the run around. They won't tell me when I'll be receiving it and act like they could care less. I'm a online student and have to have a computer to do my courses, recently my computer decided to go out and I contacted them to ask when is get my financial aid disbursement so I could get a new computer. First, I was... Read More told I got a new financial aid counselor. So I've tried to email and call him 5 times now, he won't reply back. I've called the school and they sent me to a person over the department, I was informed beings that I'm a first time borrower I had to wait 30 days after the start of classes to get it. I found out today as of February 5, 2018 my Pell Grant was disbursed to the school, I haven't received it yet. I haven't received any of my loans either. Before I enrolled I was told my financial aid would be pretty good and would cover everything and I would have a decent disbursement after all few were taken out. Well, I haven't received any of it and no one will give me an answer. I'm pretty aggravated over it because they act like they don't care at all. My advice is to make sure you do plenty of research and look up multiple sites of reviews on schools before you attend, my lesson is learned and I'm stuck with this school for the next 8 years until I graduate and earn my degree because I don't have the money to transfer to another school and have to pay to do so.

WORST EVER!!! Run Run Run away from this school. Financial aid is a JOKE!! Tuition is far too expensive for what it is a non-accredited hoax. I have spent over 10k and have learned absolutely NOTHING!!! Classes are self taught read read read 100-250 pages a week (before Wednesday might I add) to do discussion boards which are graded by the craziest rubric ever and one paper for an entire grading period. The problem I have with Post is with the financial aid department. I have had several financial aid advisers and none of them seem to know who I am and what is going on with my account. I receive financial aid from an outside agency set up through FAFSA. I ask the financial aid department at the beginning of every module how my aid is and if there are any problems. The answer has always been no. Then at the end of my degree they email me that I owe them $12,000 dollars. I suppose they expect me to... Read More write them a check. I do not know what this debt is for and do not intend on paying it. I informed them that I owe one financial group and if they did not get their money from them they in trouble. No business can be run by not sending accurate timely statements (or statements at all). If you study at this school all you are doing is working with a poorly functioning computer program and ill advised financial aid managers. They have blocked me from even looking at my transcripts.

I began attending Post because it offered the flexibility of doing it all online. I have a full time job and three kids and my job is careerless.... I have been taking the classes for a few years and find some classes are very difficult but doable. I would prefer not having to write so many essays but I guess that's how online classes are. I honestly wish I didn't start because you don't have the freedom skip a class. You only have one week off in the summer and three during the holiday break. It can be exhausting. Started Last Year, after the first mod I was forced to take a mod off due to flooding in WV. I talked to my academic advisor at the time "which as of not I've had 7 different ones due to them not sticking around" and my Financial Aid advisor and was told that would be fine as long as I could prove I was affected by the flood, which I did. Read More advisor put me in a quitting the school all together which canned my financial aid and I had to start he entire paperwork process all over again, then post had the nerve to send me a bill for that first class because they said I withdrew before the class was over, yet I finished that last week of the class via my cellphone so I wouldn't have the take the entire class over. This school is a major joke, I've lost track of how many promises I was told when I signed up for the school and not a single one of them was true, the "professors" have no direct connection to the school and pretty much do what they want and get away with it. They do not work with you or your schedule at all, and could care less if you work and have more important family obligations.

Come on don't attend this university because they lie and don't keep promises either. They tell you what you want to hear and try to steal your financial aid and don't care that you don't have a income at all. Listen to the reviews already and your safe going to a community college instead. Don't believe anything they say or fall for there lame adivors either. They are worse like J. and T. who don't know what they are doing and reputations are on the line because of there rude actions with students who they don't like. I can not take the 5 star reviews seriously, there is no way those people graduated and are able to transfer their credits to a place where they matter. Or, even if they did, I know they are in debt with Post for thousands of dollars. My husband was newly in the marines and I wanted to get an education online while staying home with our daughter. After haphazardly running across this page, I felt compelled to write a comment. I was enrolled in another college pursuing a Multidisciplinary Studies degree. Yea, right, what is that. I had earned 100 credits and all I needed was 20 more credits to graduate but I was not satisfied with the degree. A friend of mine recommended Post University. I would rate it excellent but I have to tell you that I struggled at first. Being in the military as a Recruiting First Sergeant, I was extremely busy, traveling almost daily. The first year I didn't devote enough time to learn the system and I almost quit. Thank god I didn't. How would you rate the quality of instruction at your school? the instructions to me was clear and when I had a problem I communicated with my instructor. Every instructor I had was "top Notch". I encourage every student if they are not sure reach out to the instructor sooner rather than later. How would you rate your satisfaction with your degree program? I am so happy with my degree program. I learned so much. Once I got to the graduate level, every class really challenged me. I am retired now and I am a professional business plan writer and I used what I learned everyday. How would you rate your school's student financial services? I didn't really use the financial services that much because I had the GI Bill. I did mess up once and did't register in both the Army's system and Post online. I was charged for 2 classes but the financial advisor straighten it out in a timely manner. Finally I want to say to all the students that are giving this school a bad rating, I also would have given it a poor rating the first years and maybe the second. Once you learn the system "Dashboard, Whiteboard etc..", it will be much easier. Learn to use the library also, It will be a great help. They also have a great resume writing tool to help with your resume and someone to look it over and help out. Most of all, learn to communicate with the instructor. I hope this helps someone.

After reading the reviews I decided to write my own. To those who are praising national accreditation, you need to do some reading. Regional accreditation is higher ranked than national and accepted easier thab national credits. The business school has BOTH rankings because of the MBA program they run. I had NO ISSUE with finding a graduate program in my field after graduating from Post Univeristy. I even changed Master's programs when I found a different Univeristy was having me do the exact same... Read More classes from my B.A. in their master's program. If the classes were so bad then why was my undergrad curriculum equal to another school's Graduate program!? I liked having class materials beyond a boring text book, if I have to memorize a textbook in 8 weeks to get a degree, that isn't worth a dime, I'd rather have a book and supplement materials! Financial aid is not always at fault because I had a different tuition planner each module and they have more than 20 student bills to take care of each, their department is very under staffed. If you have never worked in higher education then you need to give them more credit than I have seen here. I had an amazing advisor, my final tuition planner had actually caught a mistake that saved me 5k in private loans that the prior tuition planner had made. If you want cheap or free college you won't find it at ANY private college. I got what I paid for, the only thing I would have changed is having Navient (the real scam) as my loan servicer. Post Univeristy was the best decision that I made for my education, but then again I wanted to earn my degree, not just be handed one.

From day one I have encountered all positiveness from Post University. I receive the help I need when I need it. My adviser is awesome. She always calls to check in on me, leaves voicemail's or emails me. This is a great school. I know each experience is different but I am just glad mine has been a great one. My path at Post started out relatively quiet. Teachers were nice, workload was decent for most classes while some were just over the top for adults attending online classes who have jobs and family responsibilities. I was told initially there were scholarships and then after i started they told me for online students there arent any offered (so much for this education opportunity being the same as an on campus student). No one discussed how I could influence my degree path through classes i wanted to take, rather it was a set curriculum with no flexibility. Ive finally graduated and do i wish i NEVER stepped foot there. Departments do not communicate with one another. I doubled up on some classes thinking i would graduate earlier etc. I had no indication from my advisor or financial aid that the classes wouldn't be covered even though my FA bucket had enough money to cover. within the last 3 months of school i shelled out over $4500.00 out of pocket in order to graduate and get my transcripts released to other universities. FA told me if they had known i was doing this they would have set up a payment plan. so my question is who was supposed to tell me , who is supposed to inform FA of my class progression. Apparently NO ONE but me i was supposed to know and to top it off the money sitting in loans is now going back to the government while i have an outstanding credit card accruing interest. WORST SCHOOL EVER. Archaic systems, no communication among departments and bad communication with students.

Horrible school. Academics are a joke. Amateurs run the school. Cant answer questions, never answer phone calls and advisers have no idea what they are doing. If you try to complain forget it, it just falls on deaf ears. Sports are an even bigger joke. New Football coach has been coaching for all of 2 years at ant level. My admission advisor and ASC were extremely helpful but when it came to the financial aid the staff was unhelpful, rude and always had an attitude if you had to reach out to someone else in order to get through with them. I'm sorry but the school states that there school be mutual respect among staff, students and teachers but yet the staff from that department don't follow those policies. You should always trust your "gut" feeling. From the start I felt as I was being scammed. My friends sister just got a job as a financial advisor and of course told me how great it was. I wanted to do psychology but she knew I wanted to work with children so she pushed the child Studies program. So silly me... I agreed. From the start I was lied to. They make you take an online success class. 1500$+ gone for that joke. I did enjoy some of the classes but I soon was told the truth about my degree from one of my professors. She told me that my degree was basically useless unless I wanted to teach Pre-school or nursery. I could not work in public schools. I would have to get my masters in a psychology based program before I could ever be close to doing what I wanted to do. That is... if I get accepted since ONLY the business school is nationally accredited and the other programs are regionally accredited. Which means... you probably won't get into a masters program. I decided to transfer to a community college after a year at Post. I thought the transfer would be easy. Nope. I set up everything early and completed all paperwork. I asked my financial advisor numerous times if I would be stuck paying anything out of pocket. He kept telling me no. Well come to find out I owe Post 200$. Of course the advisor told me this, that, and the other as to why I owe this. Hmm but I still had about 2,000 in Pell grant money left since I only went for one more semester and took only two classes. I don't know what to do at this point. I am so aggravated with this school. They lie and don't care about anything except your money. So now I have 10,000 in loan debt and most of my classes won't even transfer to a community college. How sad. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER.
