Purdue University Global Reviews

A true review of a school would emphasize on the curriculum and the process in which it teaches, not the financial aspects of it. How is the school to blame for example, for a person needing to be hospitalized and feeling that she is deserving of something that the school does not agree with? Or perhaps a financial aid situation or money due? This is ridiculous! This is a for-profit program so perhaps it would have been better to seek a degree from a state funded school if your issues are financial-based. I have had nothing but an amazing experience attending this school. I am 49 years old, am studying to obtain my degree so that I may proceed on to study law. Purdue has allowed me to streamline the process, proceed with the portfolio program in order to knock out many classes and I am very close to receiving my degree in this regard. They are unbelievable and the work and classes are rigorous. You must put the work into the program to do well or even pass. It is not easy. I am finding it rewarding and challenging and very satisfying to complete. I do not understand placing the blame on a teaching institution for someone else's financial woes. It is improper and not for this forum. I too will end up with a student loan bill. That is what happens period! I love this school and I owe them a ton of gratitude. S. is my advisor and has assisted me all the way to almost the end of my journey. I would not have wanted to attend any other school and I cannot wait to receive my degree from Purdue, a prestigious institution, to which I owe my future to and of which I am proud to display on my wall once received. Thank you Purdue for making my lifelong dreams a reality.
Please beware of Purdue Global!(KAPLAN) The enrolment process is fairly streamlined and the advisors are very helpful. The problem begins right after they have you as a student. They completed an unofficial transcript evaluation on my previous degree and told me I would unofficially receive 135 credits of the 180 required to graduate, with this in mind I chose to enrol. I fully understood that being an unofficial credit evaluation, some credits may not transfer, but they only credited me 72 of the 135 credits initially evaluated. I was shocked! After numerous attempts with my student advisor to get the problem corrected, it basically went no-where, so I was forced to withdraw from the program. Very disappointing to see that Purdue Global is very much still acting like a for-profit player and using many of the same deceptive marketing tactics to enrol students it used when it was Kaplan University.
This school is awful! I was required to submit a verification form and then was told it wasn't accepted, so I redid it and submitted it again and they again didn't accept it. It took several times of contacting them to figure out why they wouldn't accept it. Finally, when the amount of the balance due on my account came it was far past the add/drop date without having to pay and it was significantly higher than what I was told it would be. I then saw that my pell would only cover a tiny, tiny portion of the amount due. I called the finance department regarding the issue and they stated that they can't' do anything to help me. I told them the balance wasn't put on my account till the day before and they wouldn't do anything for me. I then called them again a couple days and what they told me made me think that they mixed up my financial aide with another student. I seriously wouldn't suggest that anyone waste their time on this school. They aren't helpful, they lie, and could care less about their students.
Hello Please stay away from this school. First the advisors are unprofessional and dumb. Most disorganized college I have ever seen. The hounded me to get my undergrad and grad school to resend transcripts that were already there. I got my undergrad and first Grad degree from the same school. They both was on the same sheet. How stupid could they have not been. Then what makes it worse, when I thought I couldn't go this semester, I sent in an email and stated that I don't think I can do this program. The advisor tried to reach me but I was not able to get back to her in a day. I decided that I could do the program and on Sunday 9/23/18 the course was still on my portal, so I decided to complete the homework and assigments and I submitted them. Financial aid had just sent me award letter that Friday 9/21/18. I calls on Monday because I sent an email on Sunday 9/23/18 that I am continuing and her mailbox was full. How are you a professional and don't listen to your voicemails or answer your emails when you first come in to work. So I couldn't even follow up with her becuase she didn't answer and mailbox full. I called another academic advisor and she told me that the class was dropped. and I stated how when I just got my award letter and I completed the work. She stated, oh we dont work on weekends and the register don't read or check to see that the assignment was completed . I stated , wasn't even given a leave of absense form or program withdrawal form. Oh that is not nesssaryt. I had just ordered the book on my book voucher on Sunday. This is so stupid for them not to see that the book voucher was just used Sunday and the letter was dated for 9/17/18. What part are they not double checking. I just hung up on the advisor because I dont talk to stupid people that dont know the education process. My letter did not state to just dropped that course but to not come to the school at all. I will be trying Univeristy of Phoenix or a class college to avoid this nonsene. Please choice online colleges wisely.
This school is C*****. I hate them worse mistake I ever made. So I caught the flu and ended up hospitalized they treated me like c***, dropped me from classes and sent me a big bill. Yeah don't be fooled it is not self paced and they do not care about you.
Absolutely horrible. The financial aid office is a joke. I have the GI Bill and because the financial aid office waited until September 7 to offer an award package when classes started 22 August, I will be done with the term before receiving any aid. I'm not a first time loan borrower, but the school says because I am a first time PG student they won't even request loans until 18 October. The term ends 30 October. I'm a disabled veteran with a wife and child. We're in debt because they wait 30 days to submit the enrollment verification to the VA. We're pretty much half way through the term, my bank account is overdrawn sixty dollars, and I am ready to go somewhere else since researching about Kaplan University. I am ready to withdraw. No payments have been requested. So why not try a real college... Maybe if they fixed my financial aid situation I would rerate them. But they hurt me more than helped me. And they really don't care. VETS STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL!!! EVERYONE STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL! Those two 'good' reviews are almost positively fake. Just saying I wish I could go back in time and stop myself. Should have stayed with APUS.
I completed my MBA in 1.5 years. When I did my research I could not find another program that offered a completely online format from a school with the same or similar credentials/accreditation. Professors were great and helped tremendously outside of the live lectures. I only used the free tutoring for one class, but the tutors were patient, helpful, and spent all the time I needed to better understand a particularly challenging course. Assignments were challenging yet appropriate given career level. Success in any career requires commitment and discipline so online courses may not be the best option for all candidates.
HORRIBLE. No military veteran should attend here. They hold your financial aid funds hostage for too long. Over 30 days from the scheduled release date. Even the va rep doesn't know what hes doing. Not certifying your enrollment on time and delaying educational benefits.
The one-star reviewers likely realized PG is far superior academically to their previous online schools, and they couldn't keep up with the rigor of hardcore instruction and simply dropped out. I was shocked by the staggering difference in academics in taking my first class, and struggled simply for the reason that the school I had transferred from was nothing like this at all. These were real university courses. They made me think, they made me work, and they were hard. The other school did not do this. People would use emoji's and use LOL and other "text speak" to respond to answers for daily questions and the Professor allowed it. At PG this will not fly. I think this is another reason people give it bad reviews. They want easy, but they also want a degree with a university name that means something. But, you have to put the work in to get what you want. Honestly, it was not easy to get in to PG. I interviewed with the representative, my GPA was 3.4 from the school I transferred from and I had to explain to him why I would be a good fit. I have dealt with the same people since I started. I have had my credits transfered from my previous university, I have spoke with Financial Aid several times and had great communication with them. I cannot promise that nothing will go awry in my schooling, but I so far I have dealt with kind and pleasant people who seem to want to help me, and I feel that this institution is giving an amazing gift to those of us who are able to finish our degrees raise our families, and work our 40 hour week jobs. The gift of a first rate education right; from our own homes. So, for me and my family - we are grateful! I am proud to be a Boilermaker!
This college is horrible. I transferred from SNHU because I thought I would be getting a Purdue Education. This is not Purdue. It is still Kaplan. Purdue paid a $1 to put its name on it, like companies pay for naming rights on sports stadiums. Still behaving and using Kaplan policies. When filing a grievance, they don't care what FAFSA or Department of Education say. They rule based on "THEIR POLICIES." Save your money and find a reputable college. After transferring from Kaplan, I realize that Accounting degree is worthless. Reputable schools are actually teaching curriculum that is relevant to the degree. What makes this sad is I understood the reason Purdue was pursing this. Its too bad Purdue trustees kept Kaplan's administrative policies in place.
