Rasmussen University Online Reviews of Bachelor's in Accounting

Congratulations KK, you’re about to obtain a worthless degree. The only program that is half way decent at Rasmussen is the nursing school. I graduated with a BS degree, (initials seem fitting) and literally had potential employers tell me they can’t accept my it. This is a for-profit school, which they fail to disclose to young unsuspecting adults looking to further their education. I'm extremely confused by these reviews, particularly the negative reviews associated with the accounting program. If you have never attempted to take an online degree program, please do not blame Rasmussen for your ignorance! This school is 20x easier than other online programs I have enrolled in. I initially questioned the quality of the education solely because of how easy it was until I came here and saw all these terrible reviews saying it was hard and realized the quality was exceptional. That... Read More was why I was breezing through it. Still, it will only work if you can handle an online format. This includes a lot of self-teaching and self-discipline for keeping on a schedule with the CBE courses. This is not unique to Rasmussen. Any online program will feel like you are teaching yourself, for the most part. Rasmussen has taught me valuable skills I am already using in my day-to-day work, and receiving this degree will skyrocket my career. Something about the actual-life application format of the classes and the ability to self-pace has proven to be the perfect recipe for me. I am performing better academically than I ever have in my entire life.

Rasmussen College, Land O Lakes office is calling itself a school, yet it cannot educate anyone. I took the online courses because they did not have professors to teach 3rd and 4th year Accounting classes on campus. I had zero help and support from the online professors. I taught myself everything. The text books they use are basically summaries of real text books used in other colleges. I had to go through old publishing's of texts of the same subjects, in order to get a better understanding of... Read More the material. I spent so much time trying to understand the subject matter that I would run out of time on the assignments. If I had someone teaching me, I most likely would have completed those assignments. Of course I failed and repeated quite a few classes. I was put on probation twice, and told I wasn't trying hard enough. I continued attending the school because I just wanted to complete it and and walk away with a degree. Finally< I was told that I wouldn't get approved for another student loan. I had to pay for my classes cash for a semester in order to prove I was serious about school. I explained to them I couldn't afford to. So that was the end of my schooling. Fast forward to today. I just finished paying the student loans off. My wages of $13.00 an hour, were being garnished all that time, as well as my tax returns money confiscated. I am a single parent, trying to raise 3 kids, so you can imagine the hole we were in. No matter who I tried to speak to about this to get some kind of leniency of any kind, I got a slammed door in my face. So anyone considering going to this school, please don't. Don't let these thieves get a dime of your hard earned cash. They do not deserve it. This is just a business to them, not a school, and they shouldn't be allowed to call themselves a school. P.S. I wonder who the heck paid off the accreditation people for Rasmussen's credentials?

When I was attending Rasmussen I didnt receive anything beneficial from it. I was talking to CPAs who said their companies wouldnt employ anybody who attended Rasmussen. I then decided to transfer universities to pursue my career. None of my credits transferred...$10,000 wasted. Rasmussen is a trade school who works with companies to guarantee your job after graduation. If you move to a state that doesnt have a Rasmussen then youre in deep water. My time at Rasmussen College was very beneficial and I actually enjoyed it. School has never been a strong area for me but attending online allowed me to complete assignments on my own time and work on things when I felt most comfortable. Instructors were always available and willing to help in any way they could. I only had to go into campus a couple of times throughout my 3 years attending to talk to an advisor or someone in the financial services department, everything else I ever needed was solved... Read More over the phone or through email. Sure, the costs may be a bit much but if you get something out of it and take advantage of the opportunity it is definitely worth it.
