As a current student in Health Information Technology, and 100% of my courses are online; I find myself self teaching. Teaching yourself while attending 100% online is difficult overall, however feedback, responding to questions in a timely manner, or even having your overall grades completed so you can see your score from previous assignments, and try figuring out where you went wrong is a mere dream attending this college. I would say to those who are looking to have time flexibility and able to... Read More

Rasmussen University is BY FAR the WORST school I have ever been to in my entire life! The staffing is HORRIBLE from admissions, advisors, and teachers! They are very rude never responds to emails and never picks up the phone i don’t know why they have one! I can honestly say I did not get any type of learning experience from them everything! My PPE program was the WORST EXPERIENCE of them all!!! No help, no guidance, just thrown to wolves! When I first came to this school i brought alone 4 friends... Read More

By far one of the worst schools I have ever attended. They only care about money and not us as students. You never have a set instructor they constantly change. You start with 100 students and by the second exam you have 25 left due to everyone having to withdraw. You have to maintain a 78% grade average overall with the 3 exams combined. They could care less about how you present at clinical or how you present homework assignments. You almost rarely go to your home campus, you get tossed around... Read More

Congratulations KK, you’re about to obtain a worthless degree. The only program that is half way decent at Rasmussen is the nursing school. I graduated with a BS degree, (initials seem fitting) and literally had potential employers tell me they can’t accept my it. This is a for-profit school, which they fail to disclose to young unsuspecting adults looking to further their education. They simplify the admissions process which is how they get many of their students to join. It’s a business, not a... Read More

I am so perplexed by the negative reviews. The online courses are as expected, meaning, you must self-motivate to get it done! All my instructors so far have been nothing but supportive and willing to help. I have one year left and I would recommend the online programs to anyone. Being able to self-direct is key and if you can't do that, you will fail.

Terrible program. Basically bought the books at a marked up cost and taught myself. The instructors don't really care if you get what you need out of the course and neither do the so called advisors. In at least three of my classes I was the only one there, no other students. For the web development for mobile course we went through the depreciated jQuery mobile for some reason. Three separate classes on PHP and SQL yet nothing new was taught in them. The program states you can be job ready after... Read More

I never write reviews but wanted to make a point to express my discontent with this program. It is widely known in the healthcare industry that this program is extremely lacking. I graduated from there and feel embarrassed every time a colleague asks where I went school. Their reaction makes me want to hang my head in shame! A low TEAS score requirement and quick graduation date should be the only reason you enroll this school. You will not receive the education or clinical experience that prepares... Read More

Even with a reduced 1-2 class schedule per term, the rapid 6 week terms leave absolutely no room for retention or studying the subject matter. Teachers vary wildly from involved and encouraging, to completely uninvolved. Regardless, the class subject matter is almost entirely self taught. Most of my programming classes I had to google how to do basic things, because neither the lecture or the lesson content taught me how to do them. Also, when you make Honor roll, over half the letter they send is... Read More

Before you start reading this, know I am an A student, a hard worker, and I know that 90% of success depends on us as students. I had done a lot of schooling in my life, and this has been by far the worse experience ever. 1) When I requested information to get into this school, in the nursing program, my advisor will not stop sending emails and checking on me. Once I enrolled, I never heard of my advisor anymore, and it was super difficult to get a hold of him. I would write very long emails with... Read More

This school has lied from the beginning. I read reviews and thought maybe people just didn't apply themselves. I was wrong. I have held an A average since the beginning, I was told it's a hybrid program and flexible as I am a mother and have children and a job. I don't know about other people but I have a mortgage and bills to pay and children to feed. It is very hard these days to find adults who can afford to live without working. I have almost lost my job of 14 years due to all their schedule... Read More

HORRIBLE. RUN! This school does not care about its students. Only the money! They are unorganized, unprofessional, and will switch policies making it harder for you to succeed even when you’re so close to graduating. They incorporated this new Ati policy which if you don’t obtain a level 2 even if you’re passing the actual class exams and assignments and clinicals you automatically fail the class! They changed this while I was further along in the program instead of just making that law for the new... Read More

This school is money hungry. This is my first semester and I'm already looking to switch to another school. They truly set you up for failure so you can retake the class and they continue getting your earnings. Everyone that I talk with feels the same way. They break down the testing into different categories so they can grade you separately and if you have below a 78% on anything they automatically fail you from the class. 2 strikes and your dismiss from the program and have to wait an entire year... Worst instructors, I rely on YouTube more than what they provide to me to learn. I just dropped out after 7 months in this dumb school. These so called professors have no teaching degrees they just have that specialty. So they know the job but don’t know how to teach it.

For those of you that are considering attending Rasmussen online University you should know that it requires you to be 'self motivated'. This means, you're not going to be spoon fed information from your instructors. There is content organized each week for you as the student to view, read, or watch videos so that you understand assignments that will be due typically by the following Sunday. You are responsible for your own learning. There will most likely only be once a week where your instructor... Read More

I'm extremely confused by these reviews, particularly the negative reviews associated with the accounting program. If you have never attempted to take an online degree program, please do not blame Rasmussen for your ignorance! This school is 20x easier than other online programs I have enrolled in. I initially questioned the quality of the education solely because of how easy it was until I came here and saw all these terrible reviews saying it was hard and realized the quality was exceptional. That... Read More

I was sceptical when I visited the campus at first. The review I got about Rasmussen College kept me on my toes. I enrolled at the Bloomington campus in Minnesota which was very competitive. If you are able to graduate in the RN program, I am very certain you will pass your NCLEX-RN at one sitting. I graduated in May, 2020. It was worth the stress. I am currently a psych nurse in Saint Paul.

Very disappointed with this school. I will be finding another college to complete my bachelor's. DO NOT EXPECT THE SCHOOL TO WORK WITH YOU IF YOU HAVE A LIFE ALTERING EXPERIENCE. My home was destroyed when hurricane Ian hit. I tried reaching out to my professor explaining what happened asking for more time. I never got a response. I then attempted reaching out to my student advisor explaining the same thing. No type of support was provided, as far as extentions. I was told that I had been put on... Read More
