"Been a nursing student for more than 5 years. I️ have learned the lack of help this school truly gives to its students. They do not change policies that are harmful to the student body and prioritize their clean record on the NCLEX. Removing students who have the skills and give no options to pursue the field with the skills. Truly does a disservice to local hospitals like Hartford Healthcare. Truly at a loss for words for the lack of care these healthcare professionals have for their students. They teach their students well but do little to nothing to follow their own values. Being dismissed at the 7th of the 8 semesters completed with no place pursue a healthcare career. Starting over is the only option."

"School was ok overall, had great professors in the Psychology and Sociology department. Not enough diversity, it's definitely getting better though. Food was alright. The school is close to the mall which is nice. The school has been buying a lot of property so it will be more new and innovate buildings. Has a great nursing program and business program as well."

"I received my BS in chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry, so I was a student of the chemistry department. At SHU, the biology department is much larger than the chemistry department, which has its pros and cons. A con is that it can seem like more resources are allocated to the biology department. However, the class sizes in the chemistry department are much smaller and make for a much more personalized experienced. The chemistry department also has wonder and bright professors that are more than willing to help their students. Even though SHU is not necessarily known for their science programs, I very much enjoyed my time as a chemistry student at SHU."

"I absolutely loved my time at Sacred Heart University. The athletic training program is incredibly difficult. It was also pretty small, but now, with the new building that was created for the College of Health Sciences, the program will grow leaps and bounds. Housing on campus is pretty tight for upperclassmen, but there are plenty of houses nearby to rent and I believe this made my college experience even better. Overall, Sacred Heart is an up and coming school that has plenty of potential. Even in its rebuild, I spent the four best years of my life at SHU."

"Sacred Heart University is an amazing college for anyone who wants a relationship with their professors. The small class size allows students to have easy access to their professors and form professional relationships with them that open up for networking opportunities. Professors at Sacred Heart want their students to succeed and want to ensure their students are in the correct field and know what their goals are after graduation."

"Sacred Heart University is a small campus that is located in the Fairfield/Bridgeport area of Connecticut. Sacred Heart has given me many opportunities when I was attending for the four years. Not only did they have a great curriculum for academics, but also outside in the community like volunteering. Our campus offered many organizations and clubs to join, all diverse in many ways. The diversity ranged from individuals in the club and what the goal was for each club/organization. I was involved with many organizations on campus, but focused on volunteering and my studies. The social work program has a wide range of professors with different backgrounds. By listening to the professors backgrounds, it helped me as a student to figure out where I see myself in the future as a social worker. It has also helped me in using different techniques when working with clients and patients. Each of their experiences has enhanced my understanding of a social worker in the field. As stated before, Sacred Heart has many opportunities for everything you can imagine, not only for academics but also involvement on campus and in the community."

"I loved the psychology program and really enjoyed all of my teachers. However, the biggest problem that I encountered with this school was the administration. When needing help on various issues such as financial aid, registration, and even graduation, I was frequently met with resistance even if it was a simple question. Unfortunately, I was hardly the only student who encountered these issues. I graduated a few years ago so I hope that things have changed by now."

"SHU is an incredible community suited for the brightest students looking to use their talents to benefit others. The goal of all students is to leave Sacred Heart in a place that it better than when they arrived. As a result the University is one of the fastest growing in the country. Nevertheless, SHU has not lost its commitment to students who advocate for themselves and seek leadership not for their resume, but for their future communities."

The goal of their program s to educate fully so that their students have a strong knowledge and are well prepared for the real world of therapy."

"Sacred Heart University is the type of school where you are family, not just a number. Where teachers spend sleepless nights helping you reach your highest potential. Where you walk on campus and people are smiling and calling your name. This is not just a school, it is my second home."

"Sacred Heart University was a place where I felt at home. It allows you to try new things and meet new people within the first week of moving in. There are plenty of opportunities offered that range from academic to recreational. Whether you want to join an athletic club, academic club, or Greek life, there is a place for everybody. There is a real sense of family when you come on to the campus. As far as the Social Work department, it can't get much better. All professors are supportive and knowledgeable. They are true resources in learning about the field and moving forward in a career. They prepare you fully for the next step you take after graduation and support any path you decide to take. If you want to be a part of a department where you learn and grow not only as a student but as a whole person, the social work department is the place to go. I have nothing but positive experiences after attending Sacred Heart for my BSW."

"Sacred Heart University is a private, Roman Catholic university that is located in Fairfield, Connecticut. Although this is a Catholic university, every religious background and culture is genuinely accepted and welcomed on campus. There is a multitude of opportunities to be involved on campus between clubs, organizations, special events, residential life programs, health and wellness programs, Greek life, varsity sports, and club sports. Sacred Heart University is a home or a safe-haven where everyone is a part of a diverse, compassionate, and unique family. The famous slogan on campus is: Home is where the Heart is. This university truly provides a home for their students, faculty, and visitors by always providing equality and inclusion. There is a wide-range of academic majors, minors, and concentrations to choose from when deciding a track to study. Education, business, nursing, allied health, computer science, marketing, and the upcoming opportunity to study engineering is available for students to choose from. I personally chose to study Health Science with a concentration in pre-occupational therapy, and I have two minors in psychology and geriatric health and wellness. Throughout my four years as an undergraduate student, these courses have definitely prepared me to enter a future in healthcare. I have been taught the basics of patient care between health science and geriatric courses. A part of my minor in geriatric health and wellness requires the ability to demonstrate patient care by volunteering at a nursing home each week. My experiences at the nursing home have molded me into an empathetic, kindhearted, and determined individual. Not only was I able to display what I was taught in class, but also I obtained patient care by entering the community. Sacred Heart University allows hands-on teaching in every field of study, and they guarantee students are obtaining the greatest fundamental education. I believe Sacred Heart University has fully prepared me to enter into my future at a graduate level to complete a Master in Occupational Therapy. I have been involved in various clubs and organizations such as Sunshine Kids Mentoring Program, Best Buddies Connecticut, Rise Program, Residential Life, and Pre-OT Club. All of these organizations have allowed me to create distinct connections with individuals who impacted my ambition to achieve a masters degree. The best decision I ever made was choosing to come to Sacred Hear University as an undergraduate student. These experiences, lessons and personal mementos will continue to impact my future steps in completing the next level in education along with obtaining employment. I plan to return to Sacred Hear University in the Fall of 2017 as a graduate student and continue to grow as an individual. Deciding what college or university to attend, as an undergraduate student, may be difficult. I guarantee that attending Sacred Heart University is not only beneficial in education, but also in future careers and roles. Students who enter this university are entering a connected and loving family filled with hardworking and determined individuals. Consider being an amazing addition on campus and accepting the opportunity to build a life at Sacred Heart University."

"The social work department at my school did a very good job of preparing the individual for a career in Social Work. So much so that actually having a job in the field will likely be less work that what it took to get the degree in the first place. It is not that the curriculum is terribly difficult but it does a good job for preparing one for a job in the field. The amount of field placement that is done is one of the major factors in this. As a program that social work department required more field work hours than our schools nursing program, which by itself was known for being tough. All of that preparation only makes one even more suited for a job in the social work field."

"Sacred Heart is the perfect place for a any motivated future PT to attend. I was part of the 3+3 program which allowed me to complete my undergraduate degree (exercise science) in three years versus four, and allowed me to enter the DPT graduate program a year early, cutting my total education time from 7 years down to 6. Faculty and staff were so encouraging and supportive during my undergraduate career here and I owe it to them for being able to complete such a rigorous program."

"The University of Sacred Heart is a great university with lots of opportunities. If you want to major in any communications department or any administration department, this is a great opportunity. The professors are amazing professionals with a lot of experience and dedication to the university and its students. They will do anything possible to make sure you live with a great education and, furthermore, a great experience. The admission office and financial assistance office have their doors wide open to help any student or potential student with anything they need to fulfill their dreams. And Im a great example of that, economically I couldn't afford to study but these great professionals help me find a scholarship that could help me with my financial problems, and today Im a proud Accounting graduate student. And not only are the people great, the facilities are amazing, they have a lot of open spaces so you could study surrounded by nature, the class rooms are been modernized and have air conditioning and smart boards, and the library is a great help for every student, not only does it have a great collection that is easy to obtain, it also has great librarians that are dedicated to helping every student with all of their needs. Also, in the library there is the best computer center that is available for students and visitors. In conclusion, this is a great opportunity and experience that I would recommend for anyone who is interested in attending the Best University of Puerto Rico."

"I love my graduate program. We do not have academic competitiveness, we all support each other and work as team. The program itself is great using the principles of problem based learning. However, the lower scores are due to the locations of the several campuses. Bridgetport, CT is known as one of the top 3 worst cities in the state. While the school is technically in Fairfield and Trumbull, it borders Bridgeport. The school tries extremely hard to make sure the students are safe, however, the majority of the students have off campus housing."
