Read More if it is four years later, the advisor continues to contact you on your next semester of any courses you are interested in, questions on financial aid, records or general questions you may have. My advisor was very proactive and if there were any questions I had, I would receive a prompt answer to them. Financial aid office would always answer my questions in its entirety. I was never on hold any longer than 5 minutes in talking to a financial aid representative. There is an option to submit the question by email and I would typically get a response within 24-48 hours of submission. Professors in my courses were very knowledgeable in the subject areas they were teaching. Many provided hours that they can be reached or email addresses. Website interaction improved greatly the last few years. Just recently they upgraded the portal for social interaction between other students of the school and where courses are located. Accessibility is very important and understanding how to get to an area of the website and it is very easy to maneuver throughout the website.

I have taken a mixture of online and face to face courses from surrounding local community colleges. Many think that online coursework is easier, and that was true where I had attended previously, however, this is not the case at Saint Leo. Taking two classes every 8 weeks is a lot of work here, so be prepared to set aside a good amount of time each week for your class(es). I actually found Saint Leo by researching online school accreditation for the completion of my associates degree. I saw the reviews and the program offerings and applied. The admissions office helped me through the process and the connected me to an advisor who was always helpful. I was skeptical at first, but knowing that Saint Leo is a pioneer in online education and they were accredited by the same regional commission as my other schools I felt relieved. I was a straight A student in High school and the community college I attended had less rigorous classes than Saint Leo; yet it has had students who transferred into schools such as UGA and UNC and Duke. I rate Saint Leo at the top of my list. The tuition for online is the same as the public 4-year university I wanted to attend. The distance learning centers are cheaper, but I have little kids and I like the convenience of not having to find daycare for them at night.The eight week sections are helpful, but a lot of material is covered. I like how you have access to past courses to go back and review information.

I absolutely LOVED my experience with Saint Leo University. I took classes through the Lake City campus. There was only ONE teacher I had that I didn't like, and he was only there for ONE semester. All of my other instructors were phenomenal. I read through a number of reviews and observed that some students had problems while others appeared to have none. I won't say that I had none, but I was definitely not overly inconvenienced by any of them. I think people should also realize that some professors are going to be better than others at every university... Their program offered me what I felt was reasonable credit for some of my military qualifications and schools. I began using many of the general business skills almost immediately, often while I was still in a particular class. I did not have the luxury of attending a traditional campus and taking full-time classes - I did learn a great deal about time-management and personal motivation! I'm glad I picked Saint Leo, would recommend it to others, and feel it has prepared me to pursue a graduate program, which I will begin next fall at UVA's Darden.

The classroom format I liked, but sadly that is the only positive about this school. Staff are rude and unhelpful. The university makes you jump through hoops for the most trivial requests. For example, I am filling out AMCAS for medical school application. Because I took a few classes with Saint Leo, I need to enter that information into my application. I simply need an unofficial transcript in order to see the class names and grades. For all other schools I've attended, this has been easy to obtain.... Saint Leo's primitive method of attaining this simple information has brought my progress to a screeching halt. I have to wait for it to come via snail mail, as this is the only method they use. Also, they do not print unofficial transcripts, the only way for me to view it is to have another official transcript (with fee of course) sent to my house. Every person I talked to about it was extremely rude. In addition, when I tried to drop a class I was having computer difficulties. I sent a request to their helpdesk (I was not in the country and unable to call) a week before the drop deadline. I did not get a response until the day after the deadline (of course). Any attempts to address the situation were met with the same incredibly rude, uncaring response I received with my transcript request. I can't believe an educational institution is run this way. The best decision I've made about my education was to stop attending this school once I realized what a sham it is. I hope to save you the trouble. I had many issues with the financial aid department. First, they did not use my loans to pay for an entire semester. I was told that I had to make arrangements to pay $1,700.00 back or I could not continue to go to their school until payment arrangements where setup. Second, they discovered that they made another mistake by giving me $900.00 to,much and had to pay it back. Again, all of my college education is suppose to be paid for with student loans. No support! Financial aid is a serious joke. Triple charges for a sub-par education. You will basically teach yourself! Do not try to get support from the center Director, (unless you are one of the few "preferred" students) no return calls and one liner returned emails stating "I will get back with you" which never happens. Want to be taken for a ride, treated as if your worth is strictly for their financial gain,(at least they don't hide this fact, well after a year or so of attendance) bogus financial charges, unnecessary multiple same content classes, and an entire financial aid program without a SINGLE competent person on staff, then this is the school for you. Oh yeah, and you will still have to pay back the $40^ tuition cost for qualification for eh, say, maybe management at a fast food joint. Oh, and one more thing, the ONE thing you will absolutely learn for sure is their ideal of "core values" because it will be drilled into your head (CULT like) with EVERY ASSIGNMENT. Sad that most of them do not adhere to their own overstated value system which was probably written to attract unsuspecting and clueless potentials. But it looks pretty good in writing anyway.
