Saint Leo University Online Reviews

Saint Leo University offers a wonderful online program. The flexibility of the online B.A. enables me to complete college without sacrificing my job or time with my family. Every department I have worked with has knowledgeable and friendly employees; they truly seem to portray the Core Values of Saint Leo.
The online website and classroom portal are user friendly, easy to navigate and convenient. The sites are always available for me to logon when it suits my schedule. However, that is not to say this is an easy program. I work hard in each class but the payoff is wonderful – one step closer to graduation!
I also enjoy the diverse group of people in each class. There are people from all over the world attending the online program. The different perspectives on business topics broaden the entire classes view on each subject. The professors are well-versed in their disciplines and share many real world experiences with the class. I enjoy knowing how the subject I am learning is applied in the workforce.
All in all my experience with Saint Leo University online has been extremely positive. I would recommend this school to anyone who is willing to listen.
I took a Statistics class online at Saint Leo University, which was through the OCICU. It was the worst online class I ever took. It was extremely difficult and the book didn't explain things in enough detail. I emailed the instructor for help, but she rarely got back to me in time. I ended up having to get help from someone locally, who delt with numbers and statistics on a daily basis, and they couldn't even understand the book.
Luckily, I did pass the class, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It took up way too much of my time and was extremely stressful.
I withdrew with a zero balance they charged me $116 threw on another 50 dollars in late fees then sent my file to the credit bureau without alerting me.
This practice is unfair and when I contacted them they lied and told me about phone numbers I didnt have when we spoke.(i.e. they told me they talked to me on the phone I was calling them on in July the phone wasnt turned on until October lol)when I alerted to this they said talk to the collection agency, they have no desire to help former students.
No one really appreciates the degrees one earns here in my experience. They like to hear USF or UF.
Furthermore when I started the Master's program it was a mess. Could never get hold of the instructor and the counselors were about useless.
Finally after not being able to contact the instructor about recieving a password to log on to an online site St. Leo helped me drop the class but almost didn't want to refund my money. As much money as one pays to go here they should help the students find jobs in their field.
I graduated with 3.8. Not one offer in the field of accounting. I feel this is a diploma mill college like Phoenix or these other scam schools.
In active duty military spouse so one can only imagine my life is always on the go! I have attended colleges in Chicago and once I relocated I began attending Saint Leo University.
At first I was a bit worried about taking online classes but I figure I would give it a shot. The classes are do demand a lot of time, which in my case is good so I don't get lazy!
The counselors are great, the teachers are very involved and yes STLU is pricey but it is worth it. School is what you make of it and this is by far a great experience!
Saint leo was a nice University, I dont know what happend they star getting worst and worst no one no anything charge you late fee for drop classes and I was on time.
I drop one class in fall 1 and I finish , summer 2 they send me my loan refunds for summer everythin was ok at summer 2 them they send me a bill for $2000 something. NO explanation at all.
I call financial aid and they pass me 4 different people to resolve my problem no one now anything ,one say something the other one other suff... very dissapointed the ruin my time and money......
I am an active duty Army Soldier, and yes, it has taken me 11 years to complete my degree with St. Leo. I took my first four courses prior to 9/11, then deployed consistently and continuously over the next 7 years. I resumed my education about 3.5 years ago taking 2-3 courses each 8 week term while in Korea, Japan, and Honduras (traveling continuously at each location). St. Leo's courses, instructors, technology, and library were consistently challenging, demanding, and always interactive and helpful.
My academic advisor has always been extremely responsive and helpful. I transitioned from tuition assistance to using my Montgomery GI Bill as well while completing my degree. Everyone involved was efficient and responsive to my financial aid requirements. I do not understand, nor can I agree with any of the negative reviews posted thus far.
Along with these things, I was inducted into an honors society with the university and invited to attend a dinner, campus tour, and ceremony. The campus, staff, and ceremony were professional and well established. I am thoroughly impressed with everything about this institution which has existed since 1889. I will continue my graduate program with St. Leo.
Is a total joke. Incompetence is the only word for this. If this is the type of work that this school is hiring...then there's something truly missing there. No help. It's almost as if they want to mess you up. Without the financial assistance, it's impossible to go to this school and when they withhold the financial aid until it's too late...then it's too late. The worst. Run!
I transferred into St. Leo University Online school so I could eventually qualify for tuition reimbursement from my work. The BIGGEST mistake I've ever made in my entire life. I would rather not receive the 500.00 than to go through this again.
They sat on my FA and transferred credits for almost a full month. No one was providing me answers, my AA was NEVER available until I had to call my FA adviser and he tracker her down. Than she preceded to make it so that I was lying about trying to contact her.
They never processed my request to drop classes, saying that it never came through on the electronic system and that because of that, DESPITE having proof that I had in fact requested the drop, I was now suspended for a term. THEN I gets sent an email saying I was really suspended for a year.
AA's are always unavailable, you really like an inconvenience to them. STAY AWAY from St. Leo's they will only suck your money in and drive the bus over you. The classes they make you take, are insane. Having students that are going to school online and using a computer, take a basic computer class is beyond stupid.
Honestly, stay far, far, far away from this school.
The courses challenged me on an academic level as well as a personal level. Working group projects was certainly challenging at times, but it was real life, so very worth the suffering. Participating in the graduation ceremony cemented my loyalty to this University and I feel the education was worth every penny of debt I accumulated.
