"After touring several schools, while preparing for a transfer from my current university in New York, I fell in love with the Salisbury University (Salisbury) Campus. Salisbury's campus was covered in green and the classroom sizes were small to medium, which was the opposite of the stadium seating I grew to dislike. When I finally started at Salisbury I was introduced to my on-campus adviser for my major, which I thought was international business (IB) and biology, but was informed that they recently discontinued IB as a major and only offered a degree in business administration with a concentration in IB. After that brief surprise I pressed on with my education. In the following three semesters I was unfortunately given the wrong advice on which courses to take by my adviser. See, at Salisbury, the advisers are just professors who are already giving their all in the classroom and are then asked to not only be an adviser to students in their programs, but also others. This caused may issues with students and since I paid for university via loans, I didn't have the luxury of additional time in school. Needless to say, the experience was frustrating. After trying to explain that I wasn't taking the correct course, following my adviser forcing me to take the courses I expressed had to be wrong (he later apologized, and the matter went the dean of students/the university president), my timeline for when I needed to graduate was coming to a close end. Since I again couldn't stay in university for the added 1.5 years, I decided to change my major to communications and history to ensure I graduated on time. This was an easy choice since many of my electives were in both subjects and I very much enjoyed all of the classes. The foundation of the courses was very strong, but I don't think there was much innovation in their approach to education within certain thematic areas of communication. In the end the experience was really one of a "teach yourself" environment to ensure you learned beyond what was being offered. My advice to students interested in attending Salisbury is for them to fully understand the role the staff provides and should there be any concern in class schedule to take it up with an administrator as soon as possible - to be informed will never be an issue."

"Salisbury University is a great college to go to for many reasons. The professors are passionate and qualified experts. The University has many fresh and healthy eateries to enjoy a meal any time of the day. There are many clubs and committees that work their butt off to make sure everyone on campus feels welcomed. I am a transfer and commuter student from Florida, and I was welcomed by students and professors with open arms. It's also a green campus with water bottle fill stations in every building and solar panels in the parking lots. The curriculum is challenging but prepares you for real-world opportunities. The only problems I have with this university is that the Social work program is very general. There are no specific concentrations like mental health or gerontology. Also, there are no nutrition programs; which is something that I am personally interested in. For the question, "How much did your degree influence your earning potential?" I gave only three stars. I gave only three stars because social workers do not make a lot of money no matter where I go with my degree. I would have to get a Masters and/or Ph.D."

"Salisbury University is an excellent mid major school. You can be a big fish in a small pond while also getting a great education. The recent improvements made to campus facilities are a great plus. The campus is also very walkable. The school also has many great D-III sports teams."

"Salisbury University is a wonderful university to attend, in the relatively small city of Salisbury, Maryland. Since I have graduated from the university, it has expanded quite a bit, and now inludes a state of the art science building. Many of my same chemistry professors are still teaching at the university, and I know that anyone who goes to SU for a degree in chemistry will get a great education!"

"Salisbury creates some great teachers, but they create teachers who read out of the textbook. The curriculum encourages no growth in the educational fields and no deviation from the current ways of teaching. As we've seen in recent years, history is not being learned effectively by today's students, and I believe that this is because of how it is taught. When I tried to address this to my instructors at Salisbury, I was asked to leave the program. While Salisbury creates great instructors, they really do more to instruct to the test, a fatal downfall in our current educational system. If Salisbury was to teach more to individualism and was more open to alternative teaching styles, they would create much more effective teachers."

"Salisbury has a wonderful Theatre Program. The professors are hardworking, creative caring individuals who's teaching will impact your life for years after college. The class size is small which is great for acting courses. Two professors are the head directors and hold auditions for their shows throughout the year. These auditions let you use what you learn in class in a real life situation. I know my experience has greatly improved how I view acting."

"Overall, Salisbury was a great program the small class sizes and really getting to know my classmates as well as professors really helped me get through my degree. The only drawback was the internship process. Being from Montgomery County I wanted to intern in MCPS because that is where I was planning on getting a job. I wasn't able to and was at a huge disadvantage for my teaching career. That's why I'm back in school now."

"I love that Salisbury University is a university but is still a small school. The campus is a beautiful short walk from one end to another. However, I did not like the parking situation because there was not enough and paying for a parking permit was expensive. I did off street parking and rode my bike to the campus. The professors at the school are all very knowledgable and passionate about their subjects. All of the professors encourage your success so if you;re struggling they are more than happy to help you. I now go to the University of the Arts and am amazed at how many students cannot draw well. I am grateful for my rigorous drawing training I received at Salisbury University under J.K., C.G. and EB."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time at SU! I met a lot of great people, both students and professors. My professors prepared me for the "real world," as well as the next level of my education. I'm still in touch with many of them. The campus is beautiful and the student-life is a lot of fun. I had a great experience at Salisbury University."

"Overall, Salisbury was an excellent choice for a BA program. The professors were down to earth and provided a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge to their subjects. I spent most of my time in the Sociology, Anthropology, and History departments and was pleased with most of my classes. I also found the school to be very easy to navigate and the registrar, financial aid office, and cashier's office were all run smoothly and were able to adequately advise me on my options. My only two complaints are 1) that my degree has not increased my earning potential that much (but that is just the way the economy is right now and does not reflect the school itself) and 2) the school does not have enough Graduate programs."

"The campus is very well kept but that's where it ends. Financial aid people don't assist students with helping to find scholarships or other funding options, in fact, they are very quick to take students to collections. The instruction in the nursing program is a mix bag of former students, nurses in the field who have never taught before, and inexperienced non-instructional personnel. The instructors are not interested in the students within the programs, only the numbers enrolled. Maybe I am an exception because of my unique situation but I was treated poorly and not assisted even after asking multiple times of my instructors and my advisor."

"I really enjoyed my experience at Salisbury University. I learned a lot from my teachers there. I worked as a Graduate Assistant for the two years I attended graduate school. I am blessed to have received my education from Salisbury and would encourage any student to attend there as well. As far as social life, you may not get that much but if you are into graduating and on to real life, then this is the place for you."

"Salisbury University offers a flexible program to prepare those with undergraduate degrees in other areas to become teachers in their field . The Seidel School has a very good reputation for preparing teachers for the work force. Having the MAT program grouped in cohorts encourages the students to socialize and to help each other out. The faculty is generally available for support. Salisbury's campus while not in the safest community is very attractive."
