Degree: Healthcare Administration
Graduation Year: 2018
"While you are in school, they are supportive, once you graduate you are on your own. Almost all employers are requiring in office experience. They never tell you that. Certain favored students are placed in an externship where they are sure to be hired. Others are just throwwn in anywhere the business wants some free help. I got good grades, met all requirements, and now 9 months out of school Iam still unemployed. Dont go here."

"bad experience as scool, expensive. great time with students. but my guess is every private school is about the same now: get the money, grill the students to get passing scores, and get the students out. it boils down to what you want to get out the program. i can tell there were a few great inspiring professors, but most were about the gossip. NO ONE WILL FEED YOU THE KNOWLEDGE. prepare yourself , teach yourself, get a strong group of peers to get through it. quiz yourselves even when youre drinking, excercising , cooking, etc. plan on getting each one different quizz books to help each other (books are expensive). if you master ATI, you will pass Nclex. it was fast paced, but so its the real nursing. in real nursing it wont be about failing a test or mocking the students, etc. it gets worse. Your patient can die, you can actually harm someone, lose your job, fail a family, get sued. its a beautiful career, with big responsibility. That is the real msg. Dont fall in the trap of competition . help each other, stay together. thats how you succeed. it always feels as if you just keep your nose above the water, but it will be fine. i managed to work PT during school, n worked out fine for me. theres minimal to no tutoring help/ programs. overal rewarding career, good money, hard work."

Thanks - 2/13/2019
Degree: Veterinary Technician
Graduation Year: 2019
"There were equally good and bad instructor s. We didn't get everything that was promised in the beginning and there was a lot of miscommunication. I don't feel that it was worth the cost. I was lucky because the GI Bill covered most of my tuition. Compared to the pay in the feild doesn't make sense."

"Some of the staff is very rude and so is the school. I had so many issues coming here and i do regret it. Plus the extern hours are 240 and its honestly not worth it. It just takes up a bunch of your time which you are not that rewarded for. It is ridiculous."

"I'm a current student at SJVC Rancho. DO NOT ENROLL HERE FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPY! If I hadn't already spend the money I would transfers. We got a new director and the place is going down hill. We were just told today that if we don't pass our practice TMCE we will not graduate. How in God's name are you going to implement something like this one mo th from graduation. It's not even the real exam for our license. I will definitely fight this. I did not pay all this money to be held back because of one practice exam. It's all politics, we lost 4 teachers, our administration counselor and our previous director forced to retire. Save your money."

"I will be discussing my experience with the Fresno campus. The schooling I have gone through has really helped me improve my career in the technical field. I will admit if you are not the type of person that pays attention you should not attend this school. Very fast paced and missing classes can make or break your career. The teachers worked with my schedule, and I still showed up everyday. I would recommend you tour the campus to make a decision on joining. The people working here will do whatever it takes to suck you in and sign the contract so be mindful. They need to improve on the tools they give the students when the graduate. A harbor freight crescent wrench isn't going to cut it in the field. I was also disappointed in how myself and other students had to bring our tools to school to fix the equipment. The school needs to improve on providing materials for class and newer equipment to troubleshoot. Another thing they do not provide hands on training for is ductwork. Lastly the teachers are not being paid enough here so they drop like flies. I was lucky that my teachers stayed, but many have quit in the last year since I've been here. I would recommend talking to the instructor as well before you join to see if they will be there the whole time you are. Thanks for reading."

The Faculty Here is Horrible! - 10/22/2018
Degree: Medical Office Administration
Graduation Year: 2018
"I was a straight A student with a 4.0, had perfect attendance, and was on the Dean's List, so I have no reason to leave a bad review, unless it is the truth. This is the truth. The Modesto/Salida president and his deans are incompetent. They make excuses for inappropriate behavior. They will give you the rundown of the history of the school and TRY to verbalize the letters behind their instructors names thinking the "qualifications" are worthy, or that that will intimidate you. They devalue their students. The instructors gossip about staff & students. The career services advisor will take weeks to get back to you, if she ever does at all. She made my resume look so horrible (and it had typos and duplicate information), I ended up looking at examples online and redoing myself. They care more about the money the students bring in, instead of the student. They should care more about students than their title, status, & money that makes them all act so prideful & snobby. Instead of dealing with issues, they overlook them. They tell you that you can bring issues to them, then they either do not get back to you, or they refuse to deal with you on the matter. If you are brave enough to speak up about problems you see with the instructors or school, they intimidate you with passive aggressive behaviors. They lack compassion. They lack humility. They allow their instructors to act & speak in appropriately. One instructor said, "Can we get sexier uniforms for the M.A.s?" They also lied about what programs they offer and persuaded me to take another course by saying, "we are doing away with that program, how about this one...?" As I attended school, the course I originally wanted to take was STILL being offered!? REALLY?! LIARS! Another instructor talks to her students about her son's penis and daughter's sex life in (very inappropriate) detail, and "management" does NOTHING! This place is a joke! Their financial advisor is so rude, and always running around the campus like a chicken with its head cut off. It was ridiculous! So unprofessional! I am not impressed. I have reached out to M. P. and the administrative office about this. I will update this review, shall they get back to me about my concerns."

Dissatisfied - 9/11/2018
Degree: Respiratory Therapy
Graduation Year: 2019
"How tuition works was not up front. It cost me an addition $2000 due to the fact my work place was told it was a cost of $409.50 per class. SJVC included the credits that I tranfered into the program under the tuition. This is fraudulent!!! They are including credits that were paid for and taken by another college in the price when submitting it to my work place. I am sorry I started the program there are many other programs to choose from. I will be reporting this to the AARC."

Degree: Health Sciences
Graduation Year: 2018
"Horrible staff. the Medical assisting evening teacher stays on her phone all class instead of help her students during labs when you are doing venipunctures or other hands on things that can injure someone. she also will give you attitude if you ask questions and treat you like your stupid. The evening MA teacher is horrible and barely teaches you. majority because they are understaff and she was forced to teach two different classes at the same time and she didn't pay attention to either classes instead watched hockey the whole class. The Dean of Students is also completely incompetent. I have previous schooling and when I first enrolled I told every person that I could (my administrator and the dean of students) that I had literally the month before just paid to be CPR and First Aid certified and WOULD NOT be charged to redo the program but I was aware the CPR class is part of my grade so i would participate but since i dont need a certification that i did not want to pay for it. Since day 1 I was in the Dean of Students office to make sure I would not be charged. She had 3 months to tell the people who would be charging me to not charge me and she waited until the day before the class to let them know and they told her that it was too late and i would still be charged and not refunded and tried blaming me telling me i waited too long instead of taking responsibility for the fact that she procrastinated and s****** me over. The school also has a very idiotic policy that you can not make up any tests or quizzes which is ridiculous because i told my teacher almost 2 weeks ahead of time that i could not make it to class because my sister was getting married and they told me i would not be able to make it up and to accept an F which heavily affects your grade. They also would not let me walk in the graduation ceremony that was only a couple weeks earlier than my graduation date. Instead i had to wait until the ceremony almost 9 months later to walk. This school might seem like a great idea because its fast but with the ridiculous policies and staff it is not worth the time and money. Go somewhere else. Especially since i have attended 3 different schools for my bachelors and my esthetics licenses this school is by far the worst."
