"My program does prepare you early enough for gaining funding opportunities (for research or scholarship opportunities). The faculty is wonderful, but they are short-staffed and difficult to get a hold of. I am still in the program, so I am unsure as to if the degree will help me in my career after graduation, but I hope it will!"

"Excellent reputation and program that has been well recognized globally in providing quality education. The school has excelled in employing well knowledgeable staff and faculty who strive to bring about success in establishing excellent clinicians. Their purpose has always been to develop well rounded clinicians to provide optimal services to our patients and benefit the Occupational Therapy profession. The lone con of the graduate program is the program belongs to a large state school and funding for the department seems minimal compared to larger programs such as engineering as evidenced by the older classrooms and offices."

"My history graduate program at San Jose State was great academic wise, and some of the professors are very prominent in their respective historical field. However, aside from teaching, I don't think there is a lot of career build-up or resources within the program that help guarantee employment after graduation. For the most part, I think it's an excellent program."

"Pro: Graduate classes are offered in the evenings, allowing attendance while working. Con: SJSU is primarily a commuter campus, so those wanting the college immersion experience may find the social aspects somewhat limited."

"I love my graduate program. There is a heavy workload, with an emphasis in reading. I think that it is exactly what you should get from a graduate program. I am in a program to earn my Masters in education as well as my multiple subject teaching credential. I am constantly challenged. I am being taught to question the world, question the way we do things, and look at things from multiple perspectives. I am grateful I selected this program to attend. I don't doubt that I will be a more successful educator once I complete this program. I will be open minded, foster an environment that is caring and safe, and teach students in ways appropriate to their needs and learning styles."

"The MLIS program at SJSU has professors that are very knowledgeable about their field and responsive to student needs and concerns. The program also does a great job of emphasizing the changes in technology that is key to the overall changes in the library and information sciences professions. The program also easily caters to working professionals by offering flexible classes and sessions that can be completed in the evenings and on weekends. One complaint would be the grading scale implemented for the program. Presumably designed to combat grade inflation, the scale is almost too strict."

"The pros are it has great professors teaching the class who also are greatly involved in the library profession and it is very up to date with changing technologies. The cons are there is no requirement for internships in the program."

"The program is good but I wish there was more to it. It seems to be lacking specific items that would make the program more comprehensive and complete. I like the school but most students commute and this makes it difficult for cohesion to occur between classmates."
